Bug#201373: RFS: xhangglider
Hi, after my ITA to this package i've forgot to send an RFS. Well now i'm doing it, I have a working package which has the following updates: xhangglider (0.94.0-7) unstable; urgency=low * Changed dependancy on menu to Recommends. (Closes: #184595) * Added spanish translated manpage. * debian/rules - use debian/compat (4) - updated dh_installmanpages to dh_installman (adds debian/xhangglider.manpages) - removed useless debhelper commands - updated dh_installdirs to work with debian/compat = 4 * Updated README.Debian So, if anybody wants to sponsor this package, let me know and I'll send the files. I'm unable to publish them somewhere in the net, since my webserver is under crash recovering process. regards, Rudy -- ++ | Somos libres, seamoslo con software libre * http://debian.org | ++ | http://www.apesol.org.pe -*- http://stone-head.org | | GPG FP: 0D12 8537 607E 2DF5 4EFB 35A7 550F 1A00 3433 BD21 | ++ signature.asc Description: Digital signature
Bug#230602: Description changed, new version (pre5.1)
New Description: A log analyzer with nice output written in Perl Logwatch is a modualar log analyzer that runs every night and mails you the results. It can also be run from command line. . The output is by service and you can limit the output to one particular service. The subscripts which are responsible for the output, mostly convert the raw loglines in structured format. . Logwatch generally ignores the time component in the output, so if you want to investigate a particular problem, you have to go to the raw logfiles. . The homepage of logwatch is: www.logwatch.org Version is now 5.0+5.1pre1.
Bug#230767: ITP: devlabel -- storage device abstraction layer
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist * Package name: devlabel Version : 0.45.04 Upstream Author : Gary Lerhaupt [EMAIL PROTECTED] * URL : http://linux.dell.com/devlabel/devlabel.html * License : GPL Description : storage device abstraction layer Devlabel is a program which dynamically creates symbolic links to disk/partition names. It uses the disk's and/or partition's unique identifiers to keep the symlink pointed to the correct location even if the underlying partition's name has changed. So, regardless of whether /dev/sdb6 becomes /dev/sdc6, devlabel figures this all out and points the symlink to the correct data. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux caesar 2.4.23-1-686 #1 Sun Nov 30 20:51:10 EST 2003 i686 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C
Bug#230769: RFP: integcheck -- a system integrity checker
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist * Package name: integcheck Version : 1.0.0 Upstream Author : Mathieu Roy [EMAIL PROTECTED] * URL or Web page : https://gna.org/projects/integcheck/ * License : GNU GPL Description : a system integrity checker Item check is written in Perl. The idea is to check integrity of exposed systems by getting a list of md5 of any important file via ssh, to keep this list on a pretty safe system (a system that do not run any server publicly available), and, finally, to compare everyday this list and with the previous one. As long as the system considered as safe is not compromised, it should inform administrators of any changes on the others systems. As others integrity checker, if its own components are corrupted, it can be fooled. In others words, you cannot have a security policy entirely relying on an integrity checker, and you should always do manual checks regularly to be sure that the integrity checker is not corrupted itself. So what's the point of this tool, if you are still forced to do manual checks? In fact, it is way faster to check integrity of integcheck than integrity of the whole system. On every system you want to monitor, you have to install the integcheck-victim package, and on one computer, at least, you must have to install the integheck-bobby package. The integcheck-victim package provide a specific shell. The integcheck-bobby provide cronjob and scripts to get and compare md5 list. Integcheck is already packaged, using debconf, however the package is not the cleanest possible and some documentation would probably be a nice addition. If someone was willing to package integcheck for Debian, we would gladly collaborate with him, by giving him write access to the repository directly. -- Mathieu Roy +-+ | General Homepage: http://yeupou.coleumes.org/ | | Computing Homepage: http://alberich.coleumes.org/ | | Not a native english speaker: | | http://stock.coleumes.org/doc.php?i=/misc-files/flawed-english | +-+

Data input needs to be accurately checked to avoid abuses. That's the reason to avoid in general the use of such a command. Moreoveri, perl has different proper and powerful methods to send e-mail. There is no need to spawn a program like that. So, that's also a stylistic issue. -- Francesco P. Lovergine
