Bug#273627: RFP simulavr++ -- C++-Port of simulavr with enhanced features

2004-09-27 Thread Tobias Frost
Package: WNPP

Severity: wishlist

X-Debbugs-CC: debian-devel@lists.debian.org

Simulavr++ is -- as simulavr an Simulator for AVR Microcontrollers.
The Packacke is indeed based on simulavr, but its (being) ported to C++.
But the main reason for the RFP is, the enhanced feature of simulavr++:
It can be used to simulate external pheripheral for the AVR MCU, which really
burst the usability.

If this details are not sufficient, please feel free to contact me.

Best regards,
Tobi

 For what end?

Because gnulib is ITPed (#272867), we need to sort out possible legal problems
before adding it to Debian, and debian-legal may offer advice.

 To me, this looks like you are trolling a list @gnu.org - please be
 more precise with your wording on this topic. My current understanding
 is that the FSF does not consider is this documentation also free
 software? to be a sensible question, while many debian developers do.
 I agree with the conclusion that it's better to omit them from
 discussion for now.

Both of us are aware of the issue so it's useless to argue about it. I didn't
intend to spawn a discussion on this, but in my report I was listing all the
license problems I found in gnulib and I won't hide this from the list as if
it didn't exist. I think I was clear enough.

Bug#273649: ITP: phpunit -- A Unit Testing framework for PHP

2004-09-27 Thread Matthew Palmer
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: phpunit
  Version : 1.0.2
  Upstream Author : Sebastion Bergmann [EMAIL PROTECTED]
* URL : http://pear.php.net/package/PHPUnit
* License : The PHP License 2.02
(http://www.php.net/license/2_02.txt)
  Description : A Unit Testing framework for PHP

Unit testing is a means of providing extra confidence in your software
system by writing small snippets of code which test various parts of your
program. By running these tests regularly, you can assure yourself that
your new features or bugfixes haven't inadvertantly broken some other part
of the system. Unit testing is a superset of regression testing, and a
subset of functional testing.

This package provides a framework for unit testing your PHP programs, based
on the Smalltalk Testing Pattern by Kent Beck, described at
http://www.xprogramming.com/testfram.htm.

I request an adopter for the gphoto2/libgphoto2 packages.

There has been no new upstream release for a long time so a -cvs
version of the libgphoto2 packages could be a good idea.

People wants libgphoto2 to setup everything for them.
Enabling access to a group (to be created) would be an acceptable solution.
Personally I think the correct solution is udev/hal/gnome-volume-manager.

Anyway I am too busy right now.

Any taker?

* URL : http://www.bea.com/products/weblogic/jrockit/index.shtml
* License : Needs to be negotiated with BEA
  Description : A virtual machine for Java

JRockit is a (non-free) virtual machine for Java.

The re-distribution license terms are unclear, but
http://commerce.bea.com/products/weblogicjrockit/support_services.jsp
says that:

BEA WebLogic JRockit can freely be re-distributed under the BEA WebLogic
JRockit Binary Re-Distribution Agreement. [...] If you are an ISV or OEM
interested in re-distributing WebLogic JRockit and/or obtaining support
for WebLogic JRockit, please send an email to jrockit-partner at bea.com
