Groovy is designed to help you get things done on the Java platform in a quicker, more concise and fun way - bringing the power of Python and Ruby inside the Java platform. Groovy can be used as an alternative compiler to javac to generate standard Java bytecode to be used by any Java project or it can be used dynamically as an alternative language such as for scripting Java objects, templating or writing unit test cases. -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.8 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (ignored: LC_ALL set to en_US) --- Received: (at 268029-close) by bugs.debian.org; 9 Mar 2005 04:23:27 + >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue Mar 08 20:23:27 2005 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from newraff.debian.org [208.185.25.31] (mail) by spohr.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 1D8sjH-0007cN-00; Tue, 08 Mar 2005 20:23:27 -0800 Received: from rdonald by newraff.debian.org with local (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 1D8sbj-0007gP-00; Tue, 08 Mar 2005 23:15:39 -0500 From: Marcus Crafter <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Katie: lisa $Revision: 1.30 $ Subject: Bug#268029: fixed in groovy 0.1.0beta8-1 Message-Id: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sender: Randall Donald <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Tue, 08 Mar 2005 23:15:39 -0500 Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.60-bugs.debian.org_2005_01_02 (1.212-2003-09-23-exp) on spohr.debian.org X-Spam-Status: No, hits=-6.0 required=4.0 tests=BAYES_00,HAS_BUG_NUMBER autolearn=no version=2.60-bugs.debian.org_2005_01_02 X-Spam-Level: Source: groovy Source-Version: 0.1.0beta8-1 We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of groovy, which is due to be installed in the Debian FTP archive: groovy_0.1.0beta8-1.diff.gz to pool/contrib/g/groovy/groovy_0.1.0beta8-1.diff.gz groovy_0.1.0beta8-1.dsc to pool/contrib/g/groovy/groovy_0.1.0beta8-1.dsc groovy_0.1.0beta8-1_all.deb to pool/contrib/g/groovy/groovy_0.1.0beta8-1_all.deb groovy_0.1.0beta8.orig.tar.gz to pool/contrib/g/groovy/groovy_0.1.0beta8.orig.tar.gz A summary of the changes between this version and the previous one

It implements a solution to the "lost update problem". This problem is common with systems allowing concurrent read and write access on resources. By use of the PUT method, the web becomes such a system. . Homepage: http://jigsaw.w3.org/Winie/ This tool is written in Java and provides both text and graphical user interfaces. It uses Swing. Due to the lack of a Swing-compatible Java library in main, I think this package will have to go into contrib (the W3C Software license seems DFSG compliant). -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux bilby 2.4.23-d800-01 #1 lun d=E9c 29 16:06:47 CET 2003 i686 Locale: [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] (ignored: LC_ALL set to = [EMAIL PROTECTED]) --- Received: (at 226473-done) by bugs.debian.org; 8 Mar 2005 20:32:34 + >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue Mar 08 12:32:33 2005 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from vll06-1-82-234-164-69.fbx.proxad.net (mail.duboc.info) [82.234.164.69] by spohr.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 1D8lNZ-00058H-00; Tue, 08 Mar 2005 12:32:33 -0800 Received: from bilby.duboc.info (bilby.duboc.info [192.168.1.178]) by mail.duboc.info (Postfix) with ESMTP id 294C47DC14 for <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; Tue, 8 Mar 2005 21:31:57 +0100 (CET) Received: by bilby.duboc.info (Postfix, from userid 1000) id 85B94400D5; Tue, 8 Mar 2005 21:32:03 +0100 (CET) Date: Tue, 8 Mar 2005 21:32:03 +0100 From: Nicolas Duboc <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Closing ITP Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/signed; micalg=pgp-sha1; protocol="application/pgp-signature"; boundary="PEIAKu/WMn1b1Hv9" Content-Disposition: inline User-Agent: Mutt/1.5.6+20040907i Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Spam-Checker-Version:

With bottom-up programming as the unifying theme. It gives the first complete description of macros and macro applications. The final chapter takes a deeper look at object-oriented programming than previous Lisp books, showing the step-by-step construction of a working model of the Common Lisp Object System (CLOS). . Bug#298602: RFP: klibido -- KDE usenet news binary grabber
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist * Package name: klibido Version : 0.2.1.1 Upstream Author : Alessandro "Bauno" Bonometti <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> * URL : http://klibido.sf.net/ * License : GPL Description : KDE usenet news binary grabber Klibido automates the tedious task of grabbing binaries off usenet that are split across dozens of posts. The main features of Klibido are: -automatic joining and decoding of multi-part posts -multiple servers support, with priorities and fallback servers if some articles are not available on some servers -queue balancing: KLibido spreads the bytes load across servers with the same priority -multiple download threads per server support, with the ability to add or remove threads "on the fly" -KParts interface for previewing posts (.nfo, images, etc...) inside the program -pause, resume, cancel, and prioritize downloads Klibido is still in beta stage, and as such some components may not work as expected and may even crash the program. However, the author states: "if you treat it gently :-], it will work, and I've used it to download two hundreds or so of Gigabytes without any major issue." Bug#287873: update on wdm development an bugs
Hi Noah, as you may have noticed I started testing if some of wdm bugs are still reproducible and sent a note to the submitters. I also started looking ad the wdm source and asked for some help in the wdm mailing list. The good news is that some of the bugs are already fixed, the bad news is that upstream author doesn't have time to keep working on wdm and is probably looking for anyone willing to continue his work. Bug#298588: RFP: mpedit -- Minimum profit text editor for programmers
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist * Package name: mpedit Version : 3.3.11 Upstream Author : * URL : http://www.triptico.com/software/mp.html * License : GPL Description : Minimum profit text editor for programmers (Include the long description here.) Features - Multiple files can be edited at the same time and blocks copied and pasted among them. - Syntax highlighting for many popular languages / file formats: C, C++, Perl, Shell Scripts, Ruby, Php, SQL, Python, HTML... - Creative use of tags: tags created by the external utility ctags are used to move instantaneously to functions or variables inside your current source tree. Tags are visually highlighted (underlined), and symbol completion can be triggered to avoid typing your own function names over and over. - Intelligent help system: pressing F1 over any word of a text being edited triggers the underlying system help (calling man when editing C or Shell files, perldoc with Perl, ri on Ruby, winhelp on MS Windows...). - Understandable interface: drop-down menus, reasonable default key bindings. - Configurable keys, menus and colors. - Text templates can be easily defined / accessed. - Multiplatform: Console/curses, GTK+ (1.2 and 2.0), MS Windows. - Automatic indentation, word wrapping, internal grep, learning / repeating functions. - Search and replace using plain text or regular expressions (including a special function to replace text on all open files). - Small memory footprint. - Multilingual. - Password-protected, encrypted text files (using the ARCFOUR algorithm). - It helps you abandon vi, emacs and other six-legged freaks definitely. - Awesome easter egg. unofficial Debian package available from dev site deb http://www.triptico.com/debian unstable/ -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.10-1-686 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ISO-8859-1) (ignored: LC_ALL set to en_US) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". * Martin Waitz <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> [2005-03-08 16:59]: > so where's the problem in using HAL/gvm/pmount without the rest of > Gnome? There is no problem, if someone prefer that approach, just go for it. I find interesting to give the Debian users alternative solutions to the problems. I have not tested the HAL/gvm/pmount approach, but I find usbmount very convenient since the package is amazingly plug-and-play. Besides, usbmount is lightweighted: $ apt-cache show hal gnome-volume-manager pmount | grep Installed-Size Installed-Size: 504 Installed-Size: 736 Installed-Size: 140 $ apt-cache show usbmount | grep Installed-Size Installed-Size: 104 Moreover, gnome-volume-manager depends on a whole bunch of Gnome libraries. -- Rafael -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#298573: O: checksecurity -- basic system security checks
Package: wnpp Severity: normal I intend to orphan the checksecurity package, honestly I've done a bad job of looking after it. It deserves a better keeper and I've not had much success at getting a co-maintainer for it. The package description is: Checksecurity does some very basic system security checks, such as looking for changes in which programs have setuid permissions, and that remote filesystems are not allowed to have runnable setuid programs. . Note that these are not to be considered in any way complete, and you should not rely on checksecurity to actually provide any useful information concerning the security or vulnerability of your system. . The lockfile-progs package is only a "Suggests" because of the poor way that dselect handles "Recommends", but I do strongly suggest that you install it; it prevents /etc/cron.daily/standard from running multiple times if something gets jammed. . Checksecurity was previously part of the cron package. -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.10-1-686 Locale: LANG=en_GB, LC_CTYPE=en_GB (charmap=ISO-8859-1) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
