Bug#297425: I'll adopt iozone3

2005-05-07 Thread Martin Michlmayr
* Steve M. Robbins [EMAIL PROTECTED] [2005-05-07 01:10]:
 I'm willing to maintain this package.

 What is the policy during freeze: shall I upload a version with
 me as maintainer or hold off until release?

Just upload to unstable, even though the package won't make it to
testing due to the freeze. However, that's not a problem unless there
are any major bugs because the BTS always sends bug reports to the
maintainer in unstable and not stable.

Yes: Release a new package containing the changes of the NMU. The
simplest and fastest way is to download the sources from
http://snapshot.debian.net/archive/2004/11/13/debian/pool/main/p/pam-pgsql/,
include the NMU changelog entries (i.e. copy debian/changelog from the
current source) and re-release it without other source changes as
0.5.2-9 or higher.

I created the package alread ... just waiting for sponsor.

 Hello,

 I was able to do it sooner than I thought. The package is on

 http://hydra.aufbix.org/~primoz/debian/

 I did about 2 hours of testing on it with different options and I'm
 almost confident I didn't break anything. I fixed a few things (check
 the changelog). Is package OK? What do I have to do next?

The Belgian eID software consists of a slightly modified OpenSC, a few

few PDF files containing specifications of the card.

I might end up creating anywhere between one and three source packages,

Bug#292105: Status of libmusepack?

As indicated in the bug report, upstream renamed the library to
libmpcdec, and the version of the package I just uploaded reflects this;
the waiting 'libmusepack' packages should not be approved.

To quote the release announcement, [The] library name is now set in
stone, and interfaces are good. So I can safely say we won't break
compatibility...

Please let me know if anything is wrong with the package.

  Description : Implements an entry widget with history

Tk::HistEntry implements an entry widget with history. You may use the up
and down keys to select older entries (or use the associated listbox).

The widget comes in two flavors: the HistEntry widget is an
inherited BrowseEntry widget where you see history in the associated
listbox, too. The SimpleHistEntry widget is a plain Entry widget.

  Description : Toplevel mega widget to display a splashscreen

For programs that require large load times, it's a common practice to
display a Splashscreen that occupies the user's attention. This Toplevel
mega widget provides all the display, destroy and timing events. All you do
is create the Splashscreen mega widget, populate it as you see fit, then
invoke Splash() to display it and Destroy() to tear it down.

Package Description: london law game
 London Law is an online multiplayer adaptation of the classic Scotland
Yard board game (also see Wikipedia), first published by Ravensburger in
1983. The game is unusually asymmetric; one player controls the
movements of the criminal Mr. X as he tries to evade Scotland Yard,
while another one to five players control five detectives trying to
track him down. Mr. X has an advantage in access to transportation
routes, and his precise location remains hidden for most of the game.
The detectives have only the advantage of superior numbers, so they must
work in concert to limit the criminal's options. London Law features an
attractive map overlaid on high-resolution satellite imagery.

This python game was packaged using cdbs.

Prelimary packages are at http://siretart.tauware.de/debian/londonlaw/

I'm currently looking for a sponsor for this package, since I'm not a
DD.

I request an adopter for the ulogd package.

The package description is:
 ulogd is a daemon that listens for Netlink packets generated by iptables's
 ULOG target. Basically, it's a replacement for syslog for logging packets,
 and does a much better job - it logs to files, mySQL, PostgreSQL and soon
 will be able to log remotely.
 .
 mySQL and PostgreSQL support is in separate packages, called ulogd-mysql
 and ulogd-pgsql respectively.
 .

Bug#308123: RFP: seda -- concurrent server Java library

2005-05-07 Thread Shaun Jackman
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: seda
  Version : 3.0
  Upstream Author : Matt Welsh [EMAIL PROTECTED]
* URL : http://www.eecs.harvard.edu/~mdw/proj/seda/
* License : BSD
  Description : concurrent server Java library

SEDA is an acronym for staged event-driven architecture, and
decomposes a complex, event-driven application into a set of stages
connected by queues. This design avoids the high overhead associated
with thread-based concurrency models, and decouples event and thread
scheduling from application logic. By performing admission control on
each event queue, the service can be well-conditioned to load,
preventing resources from being overcommitted when demand exceeds
service capacity. SEDA employs dynamic control to automatically tune
runtime parameters (such as the scheduling parameters of each stage),
as well as to manage load, for example, by performing adaptive load
shedding. Decomposing services into a set of stages also enables
modularity and code reuse, as well as the development of debugging
tools for complex event-driven applications.
