Bug#335173: ITP: dspam -- Highly accurate and fast statistical spam filter
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Rudolf Weeber [EMAIL PROTECTED] * Package name: dspam Version : x.y.z Upstream Author : Deep Logic Inc. * URL : www.nuclearelephant.com/projects/dspam * License : gpl Description : Highly accurate and fast statistical spam filter From the readme: DSPAM is an open-source, freely available anti-spam solution designed to combat unsolicited commercial email using advanced statistical analysis. In short, DSPAM filters spam by learning what spam is and isn't. It does this by learning each user's individual mail behavior. This allows DSPAM to provide highly-accurate, personalized filtering for each user on even a large system and provides an administratively maintenance free solution capable of learning each user's email behaviors with very few false positives. Your package did show up on this list and we propose to orphan it. This usually means that your package matched some of the following criteria: [1] Your packages has not had an upload for more than two years [2] has one or more RC bugs with no answer from the maintainer (**) [3] the state of your packages in general seems to indicate that you might be MIA [4] (if we propose a removal) it shows in popcon as having less than 100 users with the package installed. [5] the package was not released with sarge and at least ([1] and ( [2] or [3] or [4] or [5] )) was true. (**) The maintainer not answering to RC bugs refers to bugs filed more than one month before the time the check was performed. After 7 days without answer from you (the maintainer) we will reassign this bug to either WNPP (in case we propose to orphan it) or ftp.debian.org (in case we propose to remove it). The package will need an upload or an explanation for this action not to proceed. Please do *not* upload a package just to get off this list - it won't help the package at all. Maintainers should be responsive and feel responsible for their packages without needing other people to force them to do work. Sometimes, finding a new maintainer or even removing the package completly from the archive is better for Debian's users. Thanks! The package description is: Ever wanted cute little penguins walking along the tops of your windows? Ever wanted to send an army of cute little penguins to invade the screen of someone else on your network? Probably not, but why not try this program out anyway, it's cool! The program is kind of cool, so I'll keep it if no one else want to take it. Upstream is dormant, but reachable. The main bug in the package is that it can't handle desktop-environments very well: the penguins destroy icons on the desktop. This could probably be fixed by someone who knows about gnome/kde stuff. Furthermore, there are some smaller bugs that are easily fixed. This is a nice package for a prospective maintainer to take. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.13-rc6 Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) --- Received: (at 334246-close) by bugs.debian.org; 22 Oct 2005 15:38:25 + From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sat Oct 22 08:38:25 2005 Return-path: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Received: from katie by spohr.debian.org with local (Exim 3.36 1 (Debian)) id 1ETLLw-0004dS-00; Sat, 22 Oct 2005 08:32:12 -0700 From: Jose Carlos Medeiros [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Katie: $Revision: 1.56 $ Subject: Bug#334246: fixed in xpenguins 2.2-3 Message-Id: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sender: Archive Administrator [EMAIL PROTECTED] Date: Sat, 22 Oct 2005 08:32:12 -0700 Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.60-bugs.debian.org_2005_01_02 (1.212-2003-09-23-exp) on spohr.debian.org X-Spam-Level: X-Spam-Status: No, hits=-6.0 required=4.0 tests=BAYES_00,HAS_BUG_NUMBER autolearn=no version=2.60-bugs.debian.org_2005_01_02 X-CrossAssassin-Score: 3 Source: xpenguins Source-Version: 2.2-3 We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of xpenguins, which is due to be installed in the Debian FTP archive: xpenguins_2.2-3.diff.gz to pool/main/x/xpenguins/xpenguins_2.2-3.diff.gz xpenguins_2.2-3.dsc to pool/main/x/xpenguins/xpenguins_2.2-3.dsc xpenguins_2.2-3_i386.deb to
Bug#330953: I might be interested!
Hi! I might be interested to adopt the rocks package. The package will probably make more sense again in the future if people switch to mobile networks such as UMTS end EGDE. Disconnects are much more common there than on other Internet connections used these days. And those disconnects can be quite annoying if they appear in the middle of an SSH or remote control session if you need five minutes to get back to where you were disconnected. I also believe the package is just not know enough. Otherwise it would be used by more people. I don't think it got obsoleted by anything newer that serves the same purpose, did it? What would I have to do to adopt the package? Regards, Torsten -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Stenner and Ryan Tomayko * URL : http://linux.duke.edu/projects/urlgrabber/ * License : LGPL Description : advanced URL grabbing package for python Python package that drastically simplifies the fetching of files. It is designed to be used in programs that need common (but not necessarily simple) url-fetching features. It is extremely simple to drop into an existing program and provides a clean interface to protocol-independant file-access. Best of all, urlgrabber takes care of all those pesky file-fetching details, and lets you focus on whatever it is that your program is written to do! It came into existence as the part of yum that downloads rpms and header files, but it quickly became clear that this is a general problem that many applications must deal with. --- Received: (at 312698-close) by bugs.debian.org; 22 Oct 2005 17:53:18 + From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sat Oct 22 10:53:18 2005 Return-path: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Received: from joerg by spohr.debian.org with local (Exim 3.36 1 (Debian)) id 1ETNUm-000611-00; Sat, 22 Oct 2005 10:49:28 -0700 From: Anand Kumria [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Katie: lisa $Revision: 1.30 $ Subject: Bug#312698: fixed in urlgrabber 2.9.6-1 Message-Id: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sender: Joerg Jaspert [EMAIL PROTECTED] Date: Sat, 22 Oct 2005 10:49:28 -0700 Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.60-bugs.debian.org_2005_01_02 (1.212-2003-09-23-exp) on spohr.debian.org X-Spam-Level: X-Spam-Status: No, hits=-6.0 required=4.0 tests=BAYES_00,HAS_BUG_NUMBER autolearn=no version=2.60-bugs.debian.org_2005_01_02 Source: urlgrabber Source-Version: 2.9.6-1 We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of urlgrabber, which is due to be installed in the Debian FTP archive: python-urlgrabber_2.9.6-1_i386.deb to pool/main/u/urlgrabber/python-urlgrabber_2.9.6-1_i386.deb urlgrabber_2.9.6-1.diff.gz to pool/main/u/urlgrabber/urlgrabber_2.9.6-1.diff.gz urlgrabber_2.9.6-1.dsc to pool/main/u/urlgrabber/urlgrabber_2.9.6-1.dsc urlgrabber_2.9.6.orig.tar.gz to pool/main/u/urlgrabber/urlgrabber_2.9.6.orig.tar.gz A summary of the changes between this version and the previous one is attached. It has a simple address book, future versions might include support for Evolution Data Server. Bug#330125: Regarding Debian Bug Report #330125
Hakan Ardo wrote: snip OK, you should contact Nikita V. Youshchenko [EMAIL PROTECTED], he's the one that got the gcc 3.3 och gcc 3.4 source packages to produce wokring corsscompilers. I will contact him as soon as I've read through all the (relevant) documentation about package maintenance at www.debian.org. In /usr/share/doc/toolchain-source there is an README giving an overview of how the tools are supposed to work, there is also an HOWTO, and there is man pages for each of the tools in the package. In the gcc source package there is debian/README.cross, which describes how to use the gcc source package to produce cross-compilers. As for debian package developement there is quite som info at http://www.debian.org/devel/. Please let me know if there is any other info you need, or if you want some more specific refrences. Have you any experience with debian package maintainance? This is a good start. I'll need some time to assimilate all the information though. I have no prior experience with debian package maintenance. I know there's lots to set up to be a registered debian maintainer and we'll have to work through the administrative stuff as soon as possible. I can, however, begin working on gcc 4.0.2 and learning the proper procedures right now. /D -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Your RFP wnpp bug is being closed because of the following reasons: - It is, as of today, older than 365 days. - It hasn't had any activity recently. As this is an automatic procedure, it could of course have something wrong and probably it would be closing some bugs that are not intended by owners and submitters (like you) to be closed, for example if the RFP is still of your interest, or there has been some kind of activity around it. In that case, please reopen the bug, do it, DO IT NOW! (I don't want to be blamed because of mass closing and not let people know that they can easily reopen their bugs ;-). To re-open it, you simply have to mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a body text like this: reopen 274471 thanks bts Further comments on the work done in the bug sent to [EMAIL PROTECTED] would be truly welcomed. Anyway, if you have any kind of problems when dealing with the BTS, feel free to contact me and I'd be more than happy to help you on this: [EMAIL PROTECTED]. A similar process is being applied to other kind of wnpp bugs. Thanks for your cooperation, -- David Moreno Garza [EMAIL
