Description: Find documentation for a Zope product using a doc tab
This product makes Dieter Maurer's DocFinder usable from a ZMI
management tab. Looking inside an object becomes as easy as
 clicking its Doc tab!
 .
DocFinder allows you to view an object's class (and base class) names
and docstrings as well as attribute names, roles, arguments, and docstrings.
 .
DocFinder can be of great help when discovering object APIs and debugging
security problems. It furthermore treats docstrings as structured text which
is a very powerful feature as it allows to write nicely-formatted
documentation right into the source, while having it instantly available TTW.

Bug#368266: ITP: stardict-xmlittre

2006-11-28 Thread Josselin Mouette
Hi,

do you have any news from this ITP? There haven't been any news for 6
months, and no reply to the long description request.

I have prepared a package and intend to upload it in a few days if no
one objects. Here is the complete ITP information.

* Package name: stardict-xmlittre
  Version : 2.4.2
  Upstream Author : Émile Littré
François Gannaz [EMAIL PROTECTED]
* URL : http://francois.gannaz.free.fr/Littre/
* License : Public domain, GPL
  Programming Lang: XML
Description : French Littré dictionary for stardict

This package contains a XML version of the French language dictionary
written by Émile Littré and published in 1863, suitable for the
 stardict dictionary software.
 .
Despite its age, this dictionary now fallen in the public domain is
still a widely used reference source for French language and
litterature. It features 78,423 entries and 239,009 quotes from 3,910
 authors.

I consider placing the following copyright statement in the copyright
file:

According to French copyright law, the Littré dictionary has been put
into public domain in the late fifties.

It is questionable whether the XML formatting is subject to copyright
at all. In the case it is, the following license applies.

Of interest is that this code also allows the use of the Common Access Card,

so having this in the Debian distribution would make Debian more useful in
the realm of the worlds largest PKI smartcard deployment.

OK,

Coolkey seems to do the right things with iceweasel, in that I can
browse web sites that require the PKI certificate on the card,
and this message shows it working with icedove, at least as used

So far, so good.

This is a prototype implementation of something for which a newer
major version was released upstream in September,
and upstream no longer supplies the old implementation. Clearly
it goes out of date very quickly. It is not appropriate for
Debian to confuse people by supplying obsolete versions.

It's orphaned, so nobody is going to bother to upload a new
version. It's been orphaned since November 2005, so it looks like
nobody's going to adopt it either. It also has only 2 popcon
installs, so essentially nobody's using it.

Radiuscontext has been orphaned for over two years with no nibbles. It has 10
popcon installs (2 votes) and has only had a single NMU since the release of
stable (so very little data is being lost). Upstream has three new versions
since the version in Debian, so the version in Debian is a snare and a
delusion.
