Bug#408258: IPP2P

2007-03-30 Thread Theppitak Karoonboonyanan

Hi,

How is this going on? I had packaged it as part of my part-time
job and was wondering whether I should file ITP for it, because I
haven't used it myself and I don't think I know it well enough to
maintain it, before someone directed me to this bug.

If you like to see what I have done, I have put the source at:
 http://linux.thai.net/~thep/debian/source/ipp2p/

If you have done it, just ignore this message. Otherwise, could
you consider taking it for maintenance?

Yours,

Bug#416871: ITP: debreaper -- bring peace to the poor souls of crashed applications

2007-03-30 Thread Josselin Mouette
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Josselin Mouette <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

* Package name: debreaper
  Version : 0.1
  Upstream Author : myself
* URL : None yet (will be on alioth in pkg-gnome if there
are no objections)
* License : GPL
  Programming Lang: Python
Description : bring peace to the poor souls of crashed applications

The Debian Reaper collects the souls of crashed applications, and
gathers information from the process and the system to write a nice bug
report. The package can then find peace in the BTS.
 .
Debreaper is meant to be a drop-in replacement for the GNOME signal
handler, but can easily be used by any other software. It attempts to
remain as simple as bug-buddy, and makes use of the user's configured
mail client to send the report.

Bug#413124: webdiff became netstiff / bug retitling

2007-03-30 Thread Stephan Beyer
retitle 413124 ITP: netstiff -- powerful tool to check for web page updates
thanks

Hi again,

> Finding a good and well sounding package name is complicated business.

So it's done and "webdiff" is renamed to "netstiff". Well, it's a rather
nonsense name without further meaning.
Well-sounding? That's a matter of taste.
Good? No, new users cannot divine by name, what the program is doing.
But: it's unique and, at least, rhymes on webdiff. ;-)

> I am not sure about what is the main focus of your package. At the first
> glance it looks like a websec remake in Ruby. I would at least refer to
> websec in the package description.

websec is ... different, a bit ;-) It has other features, e.g. producing
colored HTML output or sending mail.
And when I started doing work on netstiff/webdiff, I didn't know that
websec exists, of course. Otherwise, I think, I would never have begun
writing netstiff.

Now let's go:

* Package name: netstiff
  Version : 20070322
  Upstream Author : Stephan Beyer <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
* URL : http://pkqs.net/~sbeyer/tools/netstiff/
* License : GPL
  Programming Lang: Ruby
Description : powerful tool to check for web page updates

netstiff (formerly known as webdiff) is a powerful and easy-to-use tool
which checks for web page updates. Several test criteria can be used:
diff, html, size, date, md5sum, regexp.
Using the default command (`get'), it will fetch the needed data from the
specified URIs and show you only those that changed or where the given
regular expression matches.
Using the `diff' command and diff criterion, netstiff will show you the
changes in unified diff format, like "diff -u" does.
If you use the html criterion, the `diff' command is able to filter HTML
tags or to use an external tool, like "html2text" or "lynx -nolist -dump"
to pretty-print the difference output.
Netstiff also comes with a built-in interactive configuration tool.

Regards,
 Stephan Beyer

PS: I hope I've done it right.

Bug#416860: O: mutt-ng

2007-03-30 Thread Elimar Riesebieter
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I hereby want to orphan mutt-ng as ist isn't maintained upstream
anymore [0]. To synchronise the package with mutt and fix the new
and upcoming security issues isn't my intetion as I then have to
carry over the upstream work.

[0] http://mutt-ng.supersized.org/

The best would be to remove it out of the pool as it actually only
resides in experimental. It was a great idea to create a mutt by
user-wishes. but I think mutt 1.6 will be a well featured one and
hopefully the sidebar patch will be adoptet by upstream or at least
by the mutt maintainers?

Thanks Andreas Kremmair <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>,
Rocco Rutte <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> and Nico Golde <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> for
their great work to the package.

Bug#361253: was (long time ago) ITP: zenoss

Heya,

yesterday I've contacted the original bug submitter of #361253 via
personal mail and he told me that he doesn't have the time to take care
of packaging zenoss at all and that I should just do it, so I'll hijack
this wnpp bug and package zenoss within the next days.
If anybody else is working on this, or if there are any wishes or
additional plugins to package, please let me know. I don't want to waste
any efforts.

Cheers,

Nowhere atm, it's under internal testing, and certainly not yet ready

I have it currently compiled for amd64, so I'll need to re-do this for

applications make to establish TCP connections and transparently
proxies them as necessary. This allows existing applications to use
 SOCKS without recompilation or modification.

What I could think of was to have the latest released version in

experimental, if you think this would help.

Yes, it would help a lot, thanks!

Do you have experience with packaging? Whould you be comfortable with
maintaining the packaging in bazaar?

Yes with RPM, no with .deb. I wouldn't be comfortable yet, but I could
learn.

Cheers, Chris.

I am wondering what the status of the gwt package is. I just started
packaging it myself (have waited for a package for over a month) since
we need the gwt compiler for a number of projects and cannot afford to
wait any longer.

It seems a waste to duplicate the effort though.

You are welcome to re-use whatever I've done (for what it's worth
though, since the package is very rudimentary atm).
