Hi, just for the records ... preliminary packages are available at http://ftp.cyconet.org/debian/archive/official/irrtoolset/4.8.5-1/ Actual I'm working with Daniel Baumann[¹] on copyright issues. There are more than 10 licenses und ~20 authors. This all is shuffled all over the files. Nearly 50% of the codebase is not used, cause the graphical tools are broken since years, but upstream will not remove the code about various reasons. This makes life working on copyright much more complicated. With kind regards, Jan. Bug#406335: Preliminary package upload
I've put preliminary 1.15.0.2 packages up at http://www.tbble.net/debian as well as openjpeg and xmlrpc-epi pacakges that should be the same as the ones I've uploaded to httpp://mentors.debian.net/ for sponsorship. All binaries are PowerPC, but the source is all there so you can rebuild yourself. (slviewer-artwork doesn't need rebuilding, it's arch: all) However, they don't currently work. Two directories appear to have been left out of the 1.15.0.2 release compared to the 1.15.0.0 beta, and I'm getting a new error that I didn't see with 1.14.0.1, about overrunning the packet during an ObjectUpdate message. I'd be interested to know if anyone else sees the latter problem with either these or their own built 1.15.0.2 client. To resolve the former, grab lindean/indra/newview/res-sdl and character and put or link to them in /usr/share/secondlife/ Also, the slviewer-artwork packages are under the CC-BY-SA 2.5 license, so are not suitable for inclusion in the Debian archive, and since slviewer depends upon the artwork's presence, it's only suitable for uploading to contrib right now. I've got open issues regarding both the packaging problems, but haven't had a chance to chase them yet (since I think the best way to work out the licensing thing is to catch Linden's open-source licensing person in-world, and I can't get in-world at the moment. -_-) Anyway, enjoy. They ideally should work on any platform you want to throw at them, but I've only tested PowerPC so far, and upstream only supports i386 and AMD64 for Linux builds. -- Paul TBBle Hampson, [EMAIL PROTECTED] Shorter .sig for a more eco-friendly paperless office. pgp0ikYgcvkmH.pgp Description: PGP signature

Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist * Package name: chronicle Version : Upstream Author : rocallahan * URL : http://code.google.com/p/chronicle-recorder/ * License : GPL Programming Lang: C Description : Valgrind-based complete, indexed recording of process execution Chronicle records every memory and register write in the execution of a Linux process, using Valgrind to instrument execution at the machine code and system call level. These events are indexed and compressed; from the resulting database the Chronicle query tool can efficiently reconstruct the state of memory and/or registers at any point during the execution. Additional queries such as when was the last write to location X before time T and when was location X executed between times T1 and T2 are also supported. This infrastructure has a variety of possible uses, but the most obvious use is as the basis for powerful debuggers. Blog post introducing the idea and giving some more background: http://weblogs.mozillazine.org/roc/archives/2006/12/introducing_amb.html The main issue in packaging this is that it does include a whole patched version of valgrind, which is not ideal from a distribution's POV. Perhaps this will eventually change and regular valgrind will support --tool=chronicle. The main issue in using it is that programs apparently run at something like 1/300th normal speed. The UI is also fairly rough ATM. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.20-1-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash -- see shy jo signature.asc Description: Digital signature
