Honestly I am having a large shortage of time lately. I do have a half
made package, though I wouldn't call it anywhere near to being ready.
So if you have a package ready I am not going to stand in your way to
submit your package. Therefore I'll resign ownership of this bugreport
and let you handle it instead.

Hi,

I intend to orphan the webalizer-stonesteps package: I don't have the
time to keep maintaining it (and I don't use it).

See also #452036: webalizer-stonesteps should not enter testing.

Maintenance of the package is relatively easy. Infrastructure has been
set up, using Alioth. Upstream is responsive and cooperative.

Bye,

Joost

Bug#454469: ITP: lrslib -- enumerate vertices and extreme rays of a convex polyhedron

Description : Enumerate vertices and extreme rays of a convex polyhedron

A convex polyhedron is the set of points satisfying a finite family of linear
inequalities. The study of the vertices and extreme rays of such systems is
important
and useful in e.g. mathematics and optimization. In a dual interpretation,
finding the
vertices of a (bounded) polyhedron is equivalent to finding the convex hull
(bounding
inequalities) of an (arbitrary dimensional) set of points. Lrs (lexicographic
reverse search)
has two important features that can be very important for certain applications:
it works in exact
arithmetic, and it consumes memory proportional to the input, no matter how
large the
output is.

For a number of reasons. Not only can the Hildon desktop be used as a
desktop environment on a normal computer -- for example on embedded
systems, or even cut-down systems such as kiosks. There was even a talk
at GUADEC this year about running the Hildon desktop on your normal
PC[0]. The other big reason is developing for it. Although the official
maemo way of developing for the Internet Tablets is downloading
Scratchbox and whatever else, a simple apt-get install hildon-desktop
and you're ready is helpful.

I hope this is informative.

Bug#397255: leaving as RFP again, no time for it

2007-12-05 Thread Raphael Geissert
retitle 397255 RFP: irrlicht -- High performance realtime 3D engine
noowner 397255
thanks

It's been more than three months ago when I made a change on irrlicht's
packaging. And after reconsidering, I've decided not to package it because
I'm not very interested in using it anymore.

Anyone willing to continue my work on packaging irrlicht please see my last
upload[1] to m.d.n. I remember some bogus things on the packaging so probably
the best thing to do is carefully review all the current debian packaging.

Upstream has recently released version 1.4 of the irrlicht engine. In the past
the existing Makefile was bogus and some workarounds were required, I don't
know if this is still the case.

Some notes on the zipped-sources provided by upstream (they apply for
version 1.3.1, I don't know about 1.4):
* it contains pre-built binary files for windows
* lot of windows-only stuff around
* libpng, libjpeg, zlib: all of them shipped by upstream and used by default
* the media/ dir contains non-free stuff (and some other stuff that probably
doesn't even fit for non-free)
* the Makefile is bogus: make clean will first build part of the sources and
then clean!
* sonames: I think they used the version number as the soname

I hope this information helps anyone trying to package irrlicht.

Bug#434489: [Fwd: forwarded message from AMS Technical Support]

2007-12-05 Thread Gürkan Sengün

 Original Message
Subject: forwarded message from AMS Technical Support

From: Kasper Peeters [EMAIL PROTECTED]
To: G?ürkan Seng?ün [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hi Gürkan,

If you intend to package cadabra, you will need to ensure that somehow
there is also a package for 'breqn'. I just received a message from
the AMS informing me that this LaTeX style has just been uploaded to
the CTAN archives in a somewhat improved and cleaned-up version, so it
is probably a good idea to start from there.

(The package which is on my cadabra web site right now makes use of an
older version which is strictly speaking not compatible with Debian
because of licensing issues not being spelled out explicitly; the new
version is lppl licensed).

Cheers,
Kasper

---BeginMessage---

gentlemen,
our tech-support archive has a record that
all of you have inquired about breqn.

the attached message arrived in my mailbox
this morning.

breqn is now posted on ctan, and the license
should now be lppl.

This is an update of the mh bundle. The maintainer email address has
changed and some bugs have been fixed in mathtools.

More importantly, the mh bundle now also contains the breqn package
originally developed by the late Michael J. Downes of the American
Mathematical Society. I wish to thank the American Mathematical Society
for making this possible. See the breqn documentation for more
information.

work on it.

Bug#454433: RFA: lasi -- creation of PostScript documents containing Unicode symbols

2007-12-05 Thread Rafael Laboissiere
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I intend to orphan the lasi packages (liblasi0 and liblasi-dev). I packaged
this library only because plplot build-depended on it. Now that the psttf
driver of PLplot has been replaced by the cairo driver, I have no intention
of maintaining lasi anymore.
