Bug#448107: taking over seetex

2008-01-15 Thread Norbert Preining
Dear Muto-san,

I have seen that you have orphaned seetex. I would suggest that we take
over the two binaries dviselect and dviconcat as they are already build
in the texlive packages, but not installed.

We could upload a new packages of texlive-extra-utils that
provides/replaces/confilcts with dviutils.

After that you could ask for removal of seetex from the archive.

Would you agree to that?

Best wishes

Norbert

Bug#408946: your ITP: tex-ltlfonts

2008-01-15 Thread Norbert Preining
Hi Nicolas,

good idea to package these fonts. Could you also ask upstream to upload
the fonts to CTAN. If this happens we could include it into TeX Live
upstream and the next release of TeX Live for Debian would ship the
fonts, too, automatically.

Best wishes

2008-01-15 Thread Norbert Preining
Hi all,

can we ask for the removal of arabtex since it has been incorporated
into texlive-lang-arab and the package is orphaned?

Clint, will you do that as the original maintainer?

Best wishes

Ok, I have added the respective code to our packages. As soon as
texlive-bin 2007.dfsg.1-3
is released you can ask for the removal of dviutils/seetex.

The only problem is that xgdvi and alml still depend on dviutils. That
has to be changed, too.

Thanks a lot and all the best

Yes. The discussion ongoing on other debian based distros may lead to
this solution, and I don't want to maintain two separate packages. Also,
falconpl is the name of the site so it's kinda helpful. I suppose I can
rename the package at any time before it is finally accepted, right?

Bug#460929: O: xpvm -- graphical console and monitor for PVM

2008-01-15 Thread Cyril Brulebois
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I intend to orphan the xpvm package.

The package description is:
XPVM is a graphical console and monitor for PVM. It provides a
graphical interface to the PVM console commands and information,
along with several animated views to monitor the execution of PVM
programs. These views provide information about the interactions
among tasks in a parallel PVM program, to assist in debugging and
 performance tuning.
 .
For specifics on the various features of XPVM, and how to operate
them, please refer to the appropriate on-line pop-up help information.
 .
 Homepage: http://www.netlib.org/utk/icl/xpvm/xpvm.html

Some notes:
 - Dead upstream since before 2000.
 - Low but not negligible popcon score (around 80 currently).
 - Don't work with tcl/tk8.4

I somehow tried to cleanup the code, but that's really awful (tcl/tk…),
not to mention the build system. It looks like the crash with tcl/tk8.4
might be due to mixing different types to free memory. And since my
points of interest somehow moved away from pvm-related stuff, I'm
orphaning this package.

Cheers,

Description: MusicBrainz TRM Generator
The TRM Generator is a small application that generates Relatable TRM acoustic
 fingerprints.
 .
Relatable TRM advanced acoustic fingerprinting technology is a leading
solution for identifying digital music and media files. TRM recognizes songs
and audio content based on the acoustical properties in the audio itself, and
has been developed to achieve maximum accuracy in discriminating between
different songs, as well as identifying each and every digitized copy of a
recorded song, regardless of audio file format, bit rate or common signal
 distortions.
 .
Note: this version of the trm utility outputs an XML plist of tracks and
 their corresponding attributes.

Description: interface to the xine media player for Python
Pyxine provides Python bindings for libxine, the backend of the xine
media player. Using Pyxine, it is possible to write simple (or complex)
user-interfaces to xine. This makes it much easier for one to write custom
xine UIs. Pyxine can also be used as a generic audio and video playing
 library for Python.

I'd rather not; I haven't done any examination of texlive-lang-arab
myself and I'm not likely to find the time. If any of you are confident
that all functionality is properly replaced, please go ahead and request
the removal.

Would you want to maintain it in the pkg-samba-maint SVN repository ?
We already have a few other samba-related packages there.

Bug#460317: python-gconf dependency doesn't exist on sid

2008-01-15 Thread Javier Barroso
Ok it works

But now, on debian sid and gnome, ctrl-shift-{h,v} don't split terminal
(with mouse it works ok) and ctrl-shift-q wants to close all the
terminal but not only the current (with mouse it works too).

Thanks you.

Bug#405011: ledger: command-line accounting program

2008-01-15 Thread Matthew Palmer
Trent,

Personally, I think d-legal is being a little over-paranoid in this case --
I can't find any files licenced contrarily to the clearly labeled LICENSE
file in the root of the distribution. If you've got packages ready to
upload, I say go for it and let ftpmasters reject it if they think it's
"risky". Let me know if you need an upload sponsored.

* Package name: debian-bts-applet
  Version : 0.1

Description : GNOME Panel applet for monitoring Debian bugs

debian-bts-applet[0] is a GNOME Panel applet for monitoring the status of
bugs filed in the Debian Bug Tracking System (BTS).

It provides a more desktop-centric way of "subscribing" to bugs compared to
the [EMAIL PROTECTED] method, as well as providing an
"at-a-glance" view of all subscribed bugs. It also provides a libnotify
desktop notification when subscribed bugs' statuses change.
