  Programming Lang: C, C++
Description : display crystal structures on ordinary computer hardware

DRAWxtl reads a basic description of the crystal structure, which includes
unit-cell parameters, space group, atomic coordinates, thermal parameters or
a Fourier map, and outputs a geometry object that contains polyhedra, planes,
lone-pair cones, spheres or ellipsoids, bonds, iso-surface Fourier contours
and the unit-cell boundary.

Four forms of graphics are produced:

 (1) an openGL window for immediate viewing
 (2) the Persistence of Vision Ray Tracer (POV-RAY) scene language for
 publication-quality drawings
 (3) the Virtual Reality Modeling Language (VRML) for dissemination
 across the Internet
 (4) a Postscript rendering of the OpenGL window for those that want
high-quality output but do not have
 POV-RAY installed.

The package is actively maintained by the debichem project members at
alioth.debian.org.

This has a family-likeness with OSX dock, but with more options.
Uses cairo to render nice graphics, and Glitz to use hardware acceleration.
It's fully configurable and can be a taskbar too.
You can easily plug applets into it.

Description: Burrows-Wheeler Aligner
Burrows-Wheeler Aligner (BWA) is a program that aligns relatively short
nucleotide sequences against a long reference sequence such as the human
genome. It implements two algorithms, bwa-short and dBWT-SW. The former works
for query sequences shorter than 200 bp and the latter for longer sequences up
to around 100 kbp. Both algorithms do gapped alignment. They are usually more
accurate and faster on queries with low error rates.

Hi,

I intend to orphan the tiemu package.

The package description is:
TIemu emulates Texas Instruments calculators TI-92/92+/89.
 .
It is based on XTiger, the original TI emulator for Linux, which
uses the 68k emulation core from UAE (The Ultimate Amiga Emulator).
 .
You need to either dump the ROM of your calculator (you can do so
with TiLP), or get a ROM from Texas Instrument (see the software
section concerning your calculator, then download the archive and
extract the file) to use this emulator. There are *no* TI ROMs provided
in this package, as they are copyrighted by Texas Instruments, Inc.
 .
However, a free (as in speech) ROM is now provided with TiEmu, namely
 PedRom. Try it out!

You will probably be interested in the related, also orphaned, packages:
 tilp, skinedit, tidev-modules-source, libtifiles0, libticables3, libticalcs4

Hi,

I intend to orphan the skinedit package.

The package description is:
skinedit is the skin editor that accompagnies TiEmu, the Texas Instruments
calculators emulator. By using a different skin, you change the appearance

skinedit can handle VTi (another emulator, running on Windows) skins too,
allowing you to convert the skins between the VTi formats and the TiEmu

Bug#548777: O: anacron -- cron-like program that doesn't go by time

2009-09-28 Thread Sandro Tosi
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

The current maintainer of anacron, Pascal Hakim ,
is apparently not active anymore. Therefore, I orphan this package now.

IMPORTANT: whoever is going to take this package note that we want a team (on
alioth) to maintain it: given it's high popcon a one-man-band is not enough.

Maintaining a package requires time and skills. Please only adopt this
package if you will have enough time and attention to work on it.

If you want to be the new maintainer, please see
http://www.debian.org/devel/wnpp/index.html#howto-o for detailed
instructions how to adopt a package properly.

Description: cron-like program that doesn't go by time
Anacron (like `anac(h)ronistic') is a periodic command scheduler. It
executes commands at intervals specified in days. Unlike cron, it
does not assume that the system is running continuously. It can
therefore be used to control the execution of daily, weekly and
monthly jobs (or anything with a period of n days), on systems that
don't run 24 hours a day. When installed and configured properly,
Anacron will make sure that the commands are run at the specified
intervals as closely as machine-uptime permits.
 .
This package is pre-configured to execute the daily jobs of the Debian
system. You should install this program if your system isn't powered on
24 hours a day to make sure the maintenance jobs of other Debian packages
 are executed each day.

Bug#493736: Cairo-Dock without its plug-ins, it's not really Cairo-Dock !

2009-09-28 Thread matttbe
Hello Nobuhiro,

I'm part of the Cairo-Dock team. For us it's a great news to know that
Cairo-Dock is (finally :) ) integrated in Debian repositories !

But please, can you also integrate 'cairo-dock-plug-ins' ? This package is
already on Ubuntu repositories (Universe) :
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cairo-dock-plug-ins

This package cairo-dock_*.deb is simply an API with the minimum to use it
(just one basic view, no desklet mode, nothing for a better integration in
Gnome or XFCE and of course, no plug-in)
Can you have a look there ? :
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cairo-dock/2.0.8.1-0ubuntu1 .
'Cairo-Dock' is now split in 4 parts :
 - cairo-dock : a meta-package in order to install cairo-dock-core and
cairo-dock-plug-ins (because we receive too many bugs because some people
doesn't find other views, no plug-ins, etc.)
 - cairo-dock-core : binary files
 - cairo-dock-data : common files
 - cairo-dock-dev : all headers (in order to compile easily
'cairo-dock-plug-ins'

Moreover, we plan to release a new stable version (2.1.0) soon (tomorrow I
think). We have already made a special version for Karmic (2.0.9) -
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cairo-dock/+bug/435587 and
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cairo-dock-plug-ins/+bug/435590 .
This 2.0.9 version is a 'bugs fixed version' but not the new 2.1.0.

Thanks for your help and thanks again for your hard work.

Matthieu Baerts.

2009-09-28 Thread Ludovico Cavedon
Hi,
how is going with the upload of this package?
I am interested in this package because newer versions of tortoisehg
depends on this one.

Can I help with the packaging? I was it already uploaded once (but never
got into Debian, rejected? why?), so I guess it should be almost ready...

Let me know how I can help!
Thanks,
Ludovico

Bug#548817: RFA: guessnet

2009-09-28 Thread Enrico Zini
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

Hello,

it's been more than a year that I have stopped using guessnet.
On top of that, I almost never use wireless networking, and I am not
normally in range of a wireless network. Nor I own an access point.

This means that I cannot do a good job maintaning it: I don't normally
use it on wired to spot obvious problems myself (like a recent issue
with pcap, see #529882), and I have trouble testing its new wireless
scanning code which is something a lot of people seem to use.

Therefore, I would like someone else to take over maintaning it. I can
help with the code, explaining it, reviewing and improving patches and
so on, but the main maintainer needs to be someone who uses guessnet,
who can try and reproduce bugs, and test new releases.

So here's the RFA. Let's see if someone steps up.

Ciao,

Enrico

More importantly, and actually relevant, this package has no upstream.
If you take it over, please make sure you can actually code in C.

hm...wasn't the deal that I/we made with Luk that he was supposed to
do that? :)

I already ITP cairo-dock-plug-ins.
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=493737

I am working package to this. But I take time a little.
A package is not divided in Ubuntu finely. This pakcage is too big to user.
I am going to distribute a package every plug in.
I will test these plugin. Therefore, I take time.

I think that a product will maintain a packaging team of cairo-dock by team.

Best regards,
  Nobuhiro
