* Package name : libaudiomask
Version : 0.1.0
Upstream Author : Dr. M.R. Flax
* URL : http://www.flatmaxstudios.com
* License : GPL
Description: a psychoacoustics audio masking library.
This library implements the psychoacoustic measure which
is important for lossy audio compression. The library can
be used in a similar manner to that used in the mp3
psychoacoustics approach for audio compression, or it can
be used for other reasons in other programs.
This audio masking library will determine a threshold
in the frequency domain below which spectral frequencies
are deemed redundant to the listener.
The -DEV package comes with example code.
 This package is a C++ implementation of Flax's 2001
 model :
 "Hybrid auditory masking models"

Each section has an active/bypass switch, frequency, bandwidth and
gain controls. There is also a global bypass switch and gain control.
All switches and controls are internally smoothed, so they can be
used 'live' whithout any clicks or zipper noises. This should make
this plugin a good candidate for use in systems that allow automation
of plugin control ports, such as Ardour, or for stage use.

Description : Perl module containing extensions to PPI

This is a collection of functions for dealing with PPI objects, many of which
originated in Perl::Critic. They are organized into modules by the kind of
PPI class they relate to, by replacing the "PPI" at the front of the module
name with "PPIx::Utilities", e.g. functionality related to PPI::Nodes is in
PPIx::Utilities::Node.

Note: libppix-utilities-perl will be needed as dependency for updated
libperl-critic- perl module and thus needs to be packaged.

Bug#587235: O: sbm -- Smart Boot Manager (SBM) is a full-featured boot manager

2010-06-26 Thread RISKO Gergely
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I orphan sbm, because I am not using it anymore and not interested in
maintaining it.

Please note that the last upstream version is from 2001.

http://sourceforge.net/projects/btmgr/files/

I do not have those overcomplicated boot configurations anymore. The
whole stuff probably will be out-of-date as soon as UFI gets wider use.
Some years ago, some BIOSes were not able to boot from CDROM, GRUB was
much more lame, etc. and in those cases SBM provided nice workarounds.

If you still happen to meet those circumstances, then probably you are a
good candidate to maintain this package. If we do not find anyone, then
IMHO we can just wait a bit and remove it completely from the archive.

Hashdot elevates Java-platform script interpreters to first class

issues in using the 'java' launcher to bootstrap a script
interpreter. All relevant interpreter and JVM options (i.e: Java
heap size) may be specified directly in a script header and/or via
system profiles, without resorting to environment variables,
command line arguments, and the additional wrapper shell scripts
  needed to maintain them.
  .
Hashdot can support any Java-platform language. Sample profiles
are provided for Jython, JRuby, Scala, Groovy, Rhino Javascript
  and Clojure.

Bug#578518: Status on libmojolicious-perl ITP?

Any news on above ITP?

I grew tired of waiting, so have now packaged it for my own use
unofficially - available using the following APT line:

  deb http://debian.jones.dk/ sid webservices_

(yes, the trailing underscore is correct, that's my way of separating
simpler backports from packages without an official Debian origin).

During my packaging I notice that upstream use "Artistic-2" as license,
which I believe is not DFSG-free. Seems there is only a single author
so might be an easy task to convince adding "... or GPL-2+".

I notice Jonathan registered the ITP, but I guess it was on behalf of
the Perl team. Would it be ok that I release my packaging as official
(when the licensing issue is hopefully solved)? My packaging is on
behalf of the Perl team, but one possible issue could be that I use CDBS
which Jonathan might not favor.

Kind regards,

In practice this means that hardly anybody will touch the package,
but that's nothing new and not the first package in this situation :)

Ah, ok.

Hu? That's new to me.

Ah - I confused this with Artistic-1 (without GPL dual-licensing).
Agreed, there is no problem with this licensing.

...so it seems you do care after all ;-)

It is not the first time I hear the meme of "hardly anyone" using CDBS.
That is not my experience, but whatever...

Personally I use CDBS for all the packages that I am involved in
packaging, as I find that most effective. Also, I need occasionally to
backport to Lenny and earlier, and have found it quite difficult to do
so with short-form dh style packaging.

I therefore have no interest in packaging unless using CDBS.

I shall not "infect" the pending libmojolicious-perl package with my
weird packaging preference, but just cross my fingers that some ordinary
Debian Developer pay some interest in it instead.

Bug#580680: O: enchant -- a wrapper library for various spell checkers

2010-06-26 Thread Raphael Geissert
Hi Timo,

Thanks for the upload!

We could indeed continue working via collab-maint as mere QA uploads for now.
Maybe after a couple of upload we will realise who is willing to work on it
and create a small group or at least some sort of mailing list or mail
exploder.

With your upload now done the next step is to find out how to solve the issue
with the different backends.
I haven't even checked if enchant is capable of dlopen(3)ing the backends, but
that sounds like the right solution. Creating very small packages for each and
every backend would be silly.

P.S. please keep me CC'ed as I'm not subscribed to the bug.

Description : Input method configuration framework
im-config package provides the framework to configure and to switch
the input method on X Window System. This input method is the essential
mechanism for Japanese, Chinese and Korean (CJK) languages to enter
 their non-ASCII native characters.
 .
Many modern input methods such as IBus support not only one of these CJK
languages but support almost all languages simultaneously by
dynamically switching keyboard modes with GUI helper program.
 .
By installing this package, the most desirable input method and its
backend conversion engine are automatically configured with both the X
Window System Input Method (XIM), GTK input method module and Qt input
 method module.
 .
You can further customize your input method with 'im-config' command.

=
This package is intended to replace im-switch which I maintain. All Chinese,
Japanese , Korean, ... Input Methods tends to rely on im-switch for their easy
configuration.

im-switch uses update-alternatives in very complicated way which makes quite
difficult to understand. This package solves it.

(Actually, I added GUI to im-switch, so it became easier ... but this s
maintenance night mare. This im-config solves it with easy code with GUI.)

To denoise pyrosequencing amplicon data, the package exploits the

I tried not to, but maybe I did :)

Just my experience with CDBS packages in the pkg-perl group over the
last years ...

Let's see what Jonathan says; maybe he's happy with the "takeover" or
has some other informations ...

Cheers,
gregor

Bug#578518: Status on libmojolicious-perl ITP?

2010-06-26 Thread Jonathan Yu
Hi everyone:

Thanks, Jonas, for reminding me about that package. What happened was
I had told the upstream people about changes we needed, and I guess
they didn't get around it for awhile. We had version xxx24, this
problem was fixed in xxx25, and the current version is xxx26.

I've updated the package in our repository and it appears good to go.

If, in the future, you wish to take ownership of it/maintain it with
CDBS, feel free to do so. I don't currently have much time to
dedicated to Debian Perl stuff (due to $day_job), though as you can
see I try to make some time here and there.

Cheers,

Jonathan

Bug#584190: (no subject)

2010-06-26 Thread Mark Heily
The compiler-rt sources need some more work to build and install correctly.
I have split out the libBlocksRuntime library from compiler-rt, and intend
to distribute this as a standalone library. At this time, I do not plan to
try again to create a Debian package of compiler-rt.
