Bug#610181: ITP: pywps -- Python implementation of the Web Processing Service standard

2011-01-16 Thread Andreas Tille

I think this package is a good candidate for Debian GIS. However, I'm wondering
which task might fit best. Any suggestion?

Kind regards

   Andreas.

I'd say "web", since WPS is a protocol for presenting "things" to the Internet.

Thank you for your efforts!

Do you intent to package encoders who are not allowed in Debian (lame,

Does it really make sense to package EXIF library, which is two years
dead and does not support any recently made cameras? Would not be
better to rather use something alive like pyexiv2?

no. the packages are intended for proper Debian inclusion.

the question is, whether we could find a solution to include the
non-free parts via debian-multimedia, e.g. by producing a number of
binary packages, e.g. gmerlin-encoders-speex (debian) and
gmerlin-encoders-faac (d-m)

how does this sound to you?

PS: i'm part of pkg-multimedia-maintainers, and we are currently trying
to get gmerlin/gmerlin-avdecoders/gmerlin-encoders into debian.

thanks

Paul,

we tried to contact you in the recent past with no luck, so I'm
changing the owner of this bug as we'd like to co-maintain soundtouch
under the Debian Multimedia Maintainers team's umbrella.
If you are interested in reviewing the packaging, please join the team.

Thanks in advance.

Bug#610234: ITP: python-exif -- Python library to extract EXIF data from tiff and jpeg files

2011-01-16 Thread TANIGUCHI Takaki
Hi,

I submitted ITP for simple-image-reducer (#607237). That depends on
python-exif, if python-exif has not good support, anyway I need this
package.

Regards,
Takaki

Bug#610284: ITP: tuxfootball -- great 2D soccer (sometimes called football) game

2011-01-16 Thread TANIGUCHI Takaki
Package: wnpp
Owner: tak...@debian.org
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: tuxfootball
  Version : 0.3.0
  Upstream Author : Jason Wood
* URL or Web page : http://tuxfootball.sourceforge.net/
* License : GPL-2+
Description : great 2D soccer (sometimes called football) game
It's bringing old style gameplay from DOS times back to the desktop with up
to date graphics! It's gameplay is similar to old classics such as Amco's
Kick Off and Sensible Software's Sensible Soccer.
 .
The gameplay is designed to be quick, responsive and fun. You are always
in control of the player closest to the ball. The ball is controled via
two differentn kick buttons - one for pass, and one for shoot. Aftertouch
can be applied to shots by quickly pressing and holding the direction you
want the ball to bend towards. Pushing in the opposite direction to what
you kicked the ball makes it raise into the air, pushing in the same
direction as the ball makes it dip towards the ground.

the above scares me a little, because someone might have put their own
db config into their DB_CONFIG, and the above would overwrite it,
everytime they start the daemon.

nice, but again, wont this run each time bitcoind is started, thus
making a new rpcpassword every time?

For fun, I just committed a few things to the collab-maint repository:
. examples/bitcoin.conf
. bitcoind(1) and bitcoin.conf(5) man pages

but I am not so sure what the right way to install the man pages are,
maybe cdbs does it magically? Check it out and please correct it if its
wrong.
