 This is a Sphinx extension to reference issues in issue trackers, either
 explicitly with an issue role or optionally implicitly by issue ids like
 #10 in plaintext.
 .
 Currently the following issue trackers are supported:
  * GitHub
  * BitBucket
  * Launchpad
  * Google Code
  * Debian BTS
  * Jira
 .
 A simple API is provided to add support for other issue trackers. If you added
 support for a new tracker, please consider sending a patch to make your work
 available to other users of this extension.

Bug#695126: Don't install package in default install

2013-12-03 Thread Rune Schjellerup Philosof
Since this package isn't maintained anymore and
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=646863 reports that it
generates errors, could debian avoid installing this package by default?
Actually, I wonder why this package has even been installed by default
on my system as it has Priority: extra and none of the reverse
dependencies are installed.

2013-12-03 Thread Sylvestre Ledru

 Gilles Filippini a écrit , Le 01/12/2013 19:06:
 Here is the diff file resulting from the symbols files update for
 release 1.8.12. As I understand it, it doesn't call for a SONAME bump,
 but I'm not that sure about the removed '(optional)' C++ symbols.

 What do you think?

 After a few hours of frustration I decided to give a try at keeping
 C++ symbols demangled into the symbols files. I came up with the
 attached sort-symbols script to do that. This script:
 * unmangles C++ symbols
 * adds 'optional' and 'c++' tags to them
 * alphabetically sorts them
 * removes duplicates

 The sort and remove duplicates features are needed for the resulting
 file to be compatible with the patch output-ed by dpkg-gensymbols.

Oh, you are not joking! ;)
I think this might interest a lot of other people packaging C++ lib.
 The resulting libhdf5-7.symbols files for releases 1.8.11 and 1.8.12
 are attached as well. They were generated from these steps:
 1- unmangle the symbols file for release 1.8.11 using the script
 sort-symbols
 2- build the package for release 1.8.12 with the resulting symbols file
 3- apply the patch resulting from the dpkg-gensymbols command issued
 during the build
 4- run the sort-symbols script against the resulting symbols file to
 unmangle and sort the added C++ symbols
 5- build again the package to check that dpkg-gensymbols doesn't
 report any difference anymore.

 Is that OK for you?
Sounds good. From the results that you can see, do you see a reason to
dump the soname ?

Thanks again for your work,
Sylvestre

I've very interested in getting jailkit available in Debian. I'll be
glad to help if needed.

Did you already started to work on this ITP? Is there some packaging
available in a public $VCS repository?

If you have no time to work on it, I will be glad to take over this ITP
if you agree.

Thanks for your answers.

Maintaining a package requires time and skills. Please only adopt this
package if you will have enough time and attention to work on it.

If you want to be the new maintainer, please see

instructions how to adopt a package properly.

Some information about this package:

Package: cpqarrayd
Version: 2.3-1.3
Priority: extra
Section: admin
Description: monitoring tool for HP (Compaq) SmartArray controllers
 cpqarrayd is a userspace monitoring daemon for HP (Compaq) SmartArray hardware
 RAID controllers. These controllers usually come built-in to ProLiant, or as a
 PCI card for ProLiant or Integrity systems. This daemon reports status changes
 in the disk array to syslog and, optionally, to a snmp trap host.

 The default is to only log to the syslog. You can specify traphosts with the -t
 parameter at the commandline. Multiple traphosts are allowed.

 This tool works with the SmartArray drivers found in Linux kernels 2.4 and 2.6
 (cciss and ida drivers).

Bug#730530: ITP: mockldap -- mock replacement for python-ldap

I've not spotted any problems... But mentors.debian.net did
(http://mentors.debian.net/package/mockldap): you referenced the wrong
ticket for the closed bug in the changelog ;-).

Appart from this, nothing serious.

Maybe one single improvement needed maybe : adding a get-orig-source
rule so that it downloads the tarball using the debian/watch file.

Except from that, it seems to be working as expected, at least from the
tests I've made running test for django-ldapdb's packaging.

Do you need any other help from me ?

Bug#648040: ITP: jailkit -- chroot jail utilities

2013-12-03 Thread GCS
Hi Emmanuel,

 I've very interested in getting jailkit available in Debian. I'll be
 glad to help if needed.

 Did you already started to work on this ITP? Is there some packaging
 available in a public $VCS repository?
 The package is almost ready. You may review it[1]. I need to rewrite
debian/copyright and may provide better basic configuration. Other
than these it should be ready for uploading.

  The package is almost ready. You may review it[1]. I need to rewrite
 debian/copyright and may provide better basic configuration. Other
 than these it should be ready for uploading.

If I may suggests some changes:
 - copyright should follow dep5 format
 - I think it could be nice to provide our proper init script to:
   - use /lib/lsb/init-functions: (log_{daemon,progress,end}_msg, etc.)
   - implement the 'status' command
 - Fix all the minor errors in manpages detected by lintian
 - add a watch file

I can provide patches for each of these suggestions.

About configuration files (*.ini), I agree that we should try to provide
defaults which works with all the architectures supported and check if
it works on kFreeBSD.

I'll be glad to co-maintain this package if you agree.

It could be nice also if the packaging could be on alioth so that it
will be easier to propose patches.

What do you think?

Regards,

M.

Bug#730530: ITP: mockldap -- mock replacement for python-ldap

Thanks for spotting this. I fixed it in the latest SVN commit and an
updated package is on mentors.d.n.

 Maybe one single improvement needed maybe : adding a
 get-orig-source rule so that it downloads the tarball using the
 debian/watch file.

I saw your thread on debian-python@l.d.o and I prefer to only add a
get-orig-source target if d/watch is not capable of handling the
detection and retrieval of the upstream source tarball.

 Except from that, it seems to be working as expected, at least from
 the tests I've made running test for django-ldapdb's packaging.

 Do you need any other help from me ?

Since you are also using it for tests in your package (I need it for
django-auth-ldap), maybe you can sponsor it for me?

Cheers,
