Hi Zygmunt,

I find python-releases confusing in the same way. If I saw

Bug #xx is in stable python-releases but fixed in unstable
python-releases.

then I'd understand that it was a bug in the python2.7 python3.2
packages, not a bug in a package called python-releases.

I prefer a name that doesn't look like the name of another package
followed by the word releases. Maybe python-releaseslog.

Note: I'm not a DD, if no DD is complaining then maybe it's not confusing.

Thanks,
Steve

The package description is:
Bazaar Fast Import is a plugin providing fast loading of revision control
 data into Bazaar.

It is designed to be used in combination with front-end programs that
generate a command/data stream for it to process. Front-ends are available
for a wide range of foreign VCS tools including Subversion, CVS, Git,
Mercurial, Darcs and Perforce. New front-ends are easy to develop in whatever
programming language you prefer, making Bazaar Fast Import useful for teams

Bug#745436: RFP: libdaemon-generic-perl -- framework for starting, stopping, reconfiguring daemon-like programs

2014-04-21 Thread Thorsten Glaser
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name: libdaemon-generic-perl
  Version : 0.82
Upstream Author : David Muir Sharnoff m...@idiom.com
* URL : CPAN Daemon-Generic
* License : Perl (GPL/Artistic)
  Programming Lang: Perl
Description : framework for starting, stopping, reconfiguring daemon-like
programs

The framework provides for standard commands that work for as init.d files
 and as apachectl-like commands.
 .
Programs that use Daemon::Generic subclass Daemon::Generic to override
its behavior. Almost everything that Genric::Daemon does can be overridden
 as needed.

Hello Debian Perl Group,

please consider uploading libdaemon-generic-perl which is already
packaged in Ubuntu; it is needed as a dependency of Kivitendo,
which I am currently in the process of packaging.

Thanks!

* License : Artistic-2.0 or LGPL-2.1
  Programming Lang: Perl
Description : module to add line numbers to eval'ed heredoc blocks

Eval::LineNumbers adds a '#line this-file 392' comment to heredoc/hereis
text that is going to be eval'ed so that error messages will point back to
the right place.

Please note: when you embed \n in your code, it gets expanded in double-quote
hereis documents so it will mess up your line numbering. Use \\n instead when
you can.

I just had a pretty quick look at it: you may wish to rename your main

I guess I totally failed to reach out to an audience interested in twig
with just targeting the mentors list with that RFS. But I'm very happy
you just stumbled about that old RFS of mine. Great!

I think team-maintaining twig withing the Debian PHP PEAR Maintainer
team is the way to go. I'll check out what needs to be done to get Twig
packaged with pkg-php-tools. Additionally I'll nudge SensioLabs once
again, since they still owe me a statement regarding the license of
Twig's documentation.

Since I'm not a DD I can't grant myself access to an pkg-php repository
for twig on a Debian server. But I guess using the repo on github a bit
longer is not an issue at all.

 Thanks in advance.

 David

Bug#657405: ITP: mediagoblin -- web application for sharing pictures and videos

On 2014-03-15 12:27:50, Simon Fondrie-Teitler wrote:
 Hey,

 Sorry for the delayed response.

No problem here. :)

 anarcat anar...@debian.org writes:
It seems like upstream fixed a bunch of those issues already, is that
right? At least the mediagoblin/tests/test_submission/ seems fine to me.
The extlib directory seems more tricky, but my guess is that you could
just not ship what's in another debian package in the gmg binary
package, and for the rest ship it until someone packages the goods.

Upstream did fix the issues. I've cherry-picked the changes and applied
 them to a dfsg-free version of 0.6.1.

That's great.

What are exactly the issues needing to be solved now?

Right now I'm waiting on a review.

I haven't thoroughly tested or looked at the package, but it looks
fairly sane. I would say let's start with that and then others can
probably join in to improve it.

Getting it out of the WNPP queue would certainly help with that, in my
opinion.

One thing I keep thinking about, is that the stuff detailed in the
README.Debian should probably be implemented as a postinst script: we
could detect whether to configure nginx or apache, have a soft
(recommends) dependency on psql (because we want to allow external db
servers) and use dbconfig-common to configure that database.

But again, this can be done later, shipping the code in a debian package
is a good start.

How are you communicating with upstream, are there bug reports? It would
be helpful if you would cc this bug report in those communications to
get an idea of the progress being made. :)

There are bug reports. I'll make sure to CC this bug in the future. The
two tickets for the issues that I've referenced above are:

 https://issues.mediagoblin.org/ticket/847
 https://issues.mediagoblin.org/ticket/848

So it seems both tickets shouldn't be considered a show-stopper for
inclusion in Debian. 847 has a patch and 848 should simply be included
in the copyright file.

I would say give it a try, just upload the package with the
modifications to the copyright file and see where it leads us!

A.
