The sogoupinyin itself is licensed non-free. But the package is a
installer which is licensed under GPL-3. And this package will not be
included in main section, contrib instead.

I admits that the url in this ITP is some misleading. This installer
script is available at
https://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/pkg-ime/sogoupinyin-installer.git

Yes, people will be promoted by debconf to accept a license which
indicates this privacy concerns during preinst stage.

Bug#864833: RFA: redmine -- flexible project management web application

2017-06-15 Thread Antonio Terceiro
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I request an adopter for the redmine package. In theory redmine is
already team-maintained in the Ruby team, but in practice I am the only
one doing updates for almost 3 years. However, I do not use redmine
myself anymore, so I don't have a strong motivation to continue
maintaining it.

A maintainer should ideally be confortable with Ruby and know the basics
of Rails. Someone that is willing to learn those things will also work.

If you are interested, please get in touch. I can sponsor uploads, and
will also be happy to spend some time answering questions and/or
explaining anything non-trivial in the packaging.

8<8<8<-

The package description is:
 Redmine is a flexible project management web application. Written using Ruby
 on Rails framework, it is cross-platform and cross-database.
 .
 Dependencies for database support are provided by these metapackages:
 redmine-mysql, redmine-pgsql, redmine-sqlite.
 .
 Features
   * Multiple projects support
   * Flexible role based access control
   * Flexible issue tracking system
   * Gantt chart and calendar
   * News, documents & files management
   * Feeds & email notifications
   * Per project wiki
   * Per project forums
   * Time tracking
   * Custom fields for issues, time-entries, projects and users
   * SCM integration (SVN, CVS, Git, Mercurial, Bazaar and Darcs)
   * Issue creation via email
   * Multiple LDAP authentication support
   * User self-registration support
   * Multilanguage support

  Description : Streaming http in browser context

 This module is an implementation of Node's native http module for the
browser. It tries to match Node's API and behavior as closely as
possible, but some features aren't available, since browsers don't
give nearly as much control over requests.

This is heavily inspired by, and intended to replace, http-browserify.

  Description : Python library to make user friendly text interfaces

The functions and classes in the `humanfriendly` package can be used to make
text interfaces more user friendly. Some example features:

- Parsing and formatting numbers, file sizes, pathnames and timespans in
  simple, human friendly formats.

- Easy to use timers for long running operations, with human friendly
  formatting of the resulting timespans.

- Prompting the user to select a choice from a list of options by typing the
  option's number or a unique substring of the option.

- Terminal interaction including text styling (ANSI escape sequences), user
  friendly rendering of usage messages and querying the terminal for its
  size.

This package is also a dependency for python-coloredlogs (RFP #780187)

This module will be maintained within Python Modules team. I will also
need a sponsor for uploading.

  Description : jQuery-style HTML manipulation in Go

 goquery brings a syntax and a set of features similar to jQuery
 (http://jquery.com/) to the Go language, based on Go's net/html
 package and the CSS Selector library cascadia.
 .
 Syntax-wise, it is as close as possible to jQuery, with the same
 function names when possible, and a chainable interface.

This library is being packaged as a build dependency of loadimpact/k6
(loadimpact/k6 -> puerkitobio/goquery).

  Description : raw loader module for webpack

 This library is a raw loader module for webpack.

 This library is a dependency for webpack. Webpack takes code targeted at
 node.js and adapts it to run in the browser. Node.js comes with an API of
 its own that is not available in browsers. Webpack exposes this code to
 programs that are unaware they are running in a browser.

 Node.js is an event-based server-side JavaScript engine.

* Package name: parsley-clojure
  Version:   0.9.2
  Upstream Author:  Christophe Grand <*christo...@cgrand.net*>
* URL: https://github.com/cgrand/parsley

  Programming Lang: Java, Clojure
  Description : parser generator for context-free grammars
  .
   parsley can create parsers for custom grammars and yield parse-trees for
any
   given input. The parsers generated by parsley are a variant of LR
parsers.

I'm very open to suggestions regarding the description of this package
since I don't want to be very technical but then again the description
looks too generic.

Bug#864823: ITP: python-treetime -- inference of time stamped phylogenies and ancestral reconstruction

2017-06-15 Thread Andreas Tille
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Andreas Tille

* Package name: python-treetime
  Version : 0.0+20170607
  Upstream Author : Pavel Sagulenko and Richard Neher
* URL : https://github.com/neherlab/treetime
* License : MIT
  Programming Lang: Python
  Description : inference of time stamped phylogenies and ancestral
reconstruction
 TreeTime provides routines for ancestral sequence reconstruction and the
 maximum likelihoo inference of molecular-clock phylogenies, i.e., a tree
 where all branches are scaled such that the locations of terminal nodes
 correspond to their sampling times and internal nodes are placed at the
 most likely time of divergence.
 .
 TreeTime aims at striking a compromise between sophisticated
 probabilistic models of evolution and fast heuristics. It implements GTR
 models of ancestral inference and branch length optimization, but takes
 the tree topology as given. To optimize the likelihood of time-scaled
 phylogenies, treetime uses an iterative approach that first infers
 ancestral sequences given the branch length of the tree, then optimizes
 the positions of unconstraine d nodes on the time axis, and then repeats
 this cycle. The only topology optimization are (optional) resolution of
 polytomies in a way that is most (approximately) consistent with the
 sampling time constraints on the tree. The package is designed to be
 used as a stand-alone tool or as a library used in larger phylogenetic
 analysis workflows.
 .
 Features
  * ancestral sequence reconstruction (marginal and joint maximum
likelihood)
  * molecular clock tree inference (marginal and joint maximum
likelihood)
  * inference of GTR models
  * rerooting to obtain best root-to-tip regression
  * auto-correlated relaxed molecular clock (with normal prior)

Remark: This package will be maintained by the Debian Med team at

Bug#864816: ITP: volume-key -- library and utility for manipulating storage encryption keys and passphrases

2017-06-15 Thread Martin Pitt
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Martin Pitt

* Package name: volume-key
  Version : 0.3.9
  Upstream Author : Miloslav Trmač https://releases.pagure.org/volume_key/
* License : GPL-2+
  Programming Lang: C
  Description : Library/utility for manipulating storage encryption keys
and passphrases
  This package provides libvolume_key, a library for manipulating storage volume
  encryption keys and storing them separately from volumes.

  The main goal of the software is to allow restoring access to an encrypted
  hard drive if the primary user forgets the passphrase. The encryption key
  back up can also be useful for extracting data after a hardware or software
  failure that corrupts the header of the encrypted volume, or to access the
  company data after an employee leaves abruptly.

This is a build/binary dependency of the ITP'ed libblockdev [1] which in turn
is a new dependency of upcoming udisks [2].

I know that the package names is less than ideal - one usually thinks about
buttons to control the audio volume. If there's demand, I'm okay with changing
the source package name to storage-volume-key, but the binary names need to
(and should) match the upstream library/soname and thus can't be prefixed; so I
don't think it's worth bothering.

If anyone else is interested, co-maintenance is highly welcome and appreciated!

Thanks,

Martin

Bug#864815: ITP: libbytesize -- library for common operations with sizes in bytes

2017-06-15 Thread Martin Pitt
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
Owner: Martin Pitt

* Package name: libbytesize
  Version : 0.10
  Upstream Author : Vratislav Podzimek
  URL : https://github.com/rhinstaller/libbytesize
* License : LGPL-2.1+
  Programming Lang: C
  Description : Library for common operations with sizes in bytes
  Many projects need to work with sizes in bytes (be it sizes of storage
  space, memory,...) and all of them need to deal with the same issues
  like:

   * How to get a human-readable string for the given size?
   * How to store the given size so that no significant information is lost?
   * If we store the size in bytes, what if the given size gets over the
 MAXUINT64 value? How to interpret sizes entered by users according
 to their locale and typing conventions?
   * How to deal with the decimal/binary units (MB vs. MiB) ambiguity?

   This library aims to be as much generally usable as possible, small, fast and
   be easily interfaced from other languages.

This is a build/binary dependency of the ITP'ed libblockdev [1] which in turn
is a new dependency of upcoming udisks [2].

If anyone else is interested, co-maintenance is highly welcome and appreciated!

Thanks,

Martin
