First of all, sorry for the late reply!

I am quite happy to help maintain opensmalltalk-vm. I have tried
several times wrap my head around it but failed so far, so I am very
pleased that you are reaching out and want to do this collaboratively.

I suggest that we use the Sugar team as platform for this package - just
because it exists already, has very low activity, and is somewhat
related (although if I understand correctly opensmalltalk-vm is not
usable with EToys which is the only Smalltalk piece in Sugar.

If that's ok with you (and if you are still around and interested, after
this much silence on my part) then please create an account at Salsa and
request membership in the Sugar team - as that's how you can have write
access to our git repos there. More info on that at
https://wiki.debian.org/Sugar#Development and more generally at
https://wiki.debian.org/Salsa

You might also want to register at the Sugar mailinglist, to receive the
emails related to the packaging work.

Kind regards,

 - Jonas

Hi Jan,

Actually, it does affect the source package legally. You cannot know without a long
process of reverse engineering what is contained in the binary. Odds are that it violates
the distribution permission of additional software that is included but not documented.

So if you want the package sponsored by me, you would have to repack, removing that file
from the source package.

Thanks,

Bug#991471: ITP: systemd-zram-generator -- Auto generator for zram devices to systemd service.

2021-10-05 Thread Matthias Klumpp
Hi Heysion!

Are there any news or progress on this packaging effort? We would like
to use the zRAM-generator in the PureOS Debian derivative, and
therefore packaging it for Debian makes a lot of sense.
So, if you need any help with this, be it packaging, maintenance or
upload sponsorship, please let me know!

Cheers,
Matthias

Description : First boot installer and configuration tool

Ignition is the utility used by Fedora CoreOS and RHEL CoreOS to
manipulate disks during the initramfs. This includes partitioning disks,
formatting partitions, writing files (regular files, systemd units, etc.),
and configuring users. On first boot, Ignition reads its configuration
from a source of truth (remote URL, network metadata service, hypervisor
bridge, etc.) and applies the configuration. Usage Odds are good that
you don't want to invoke Ignition directly. In fact, it isn't even
present in the root filesystem. Take a look at the Getting Started Guide
(docs/getting-started.md) for details on providing Ignition with a runtime
 configuration.

  Version : 0.0~git20200220.5ae6071-1

* URL : https://github.com/coreos/go-json
* License : TODO
  Programming Lang: Go
Description : Modified version of go's encoding/json library which allows
decoding to a Node struct with offset information

This is a fork of go's encoding/json library. It adds the a third target for
unmarshalling, json.Node.
Unmarshalling to a Node behaves similarilarly to unmarshalling to an
interface{}, except it also records
the offsets for the start and end of the value that was unmarshalled and, if
the value was part of a json
object, it also records the offsets of the start and end of the object's key.
The Value field of the Node
will be unmarshalled to the same types as if it were an interface{}, except in
the case of arrays and
objects. In those case it will be unmarshalled to a []Node or map[string]Node
instead []interface{} or
map[string]interface{} for arrays and objects, respectively.

(Maybe) needed for ignition, but clarifying upstream whether this fork is
really still needed.

983146 RFS: bung/3.1.1-1 [ITP] -- backup next generation

2021-10-05 Thread Charles
To all who have contributed to this bug report: Antonio, Bart, Gurkan,
Robin and Tobias

Thanks for your help and your patience as I have naively struggled to
comply with Debian standards. Apart from doc-base I think the package
is now fully compliant.

No sponsors have come forward. Please suggest how I might find one.

Here's what I have done already ...

I viewed https://wiki.debian.org/Teams and
http://web.archive.org/web/20090908094500/http://krum.ethz.ch/ddc/teams-of-2007.txt
but did not find any appropriate teams to ask for sponsorship

I used
https://packages.debian.org/search?keywords=backup&searchon=names&suite=stable§ion=all
and
https://packages.debian.org/search?keywords=backup&searchon=all&suite=stable§ion=all
to find packages functionally related to bung and to note their
maintainers. I haven't written to any of them yet, partly because it
would be intrusive and partly because it is not obvious that just
because they maintain a related package they would have any interest in
sponsoring bung
