Sure. We are working on setup new git repo on pkg-lxde project on
alioth.d.o for all of lxde packages. As you are the member of pkg-lxde
project. Once the new git setup, you may easily contribute to make it
ready for upload.

I'm just curious how things are progressing with this?

A couple of months ago, Andrew said that a new upstream release that
solves
several pending issues was published and that it would soon be
packaged.

Thanks for reminding this. We(lxde packing team) had a discussion
during the LDXE meetup at LinuxTag. This package still need more
tests. We planed to upload it to get more people to help on testing.

Howevrer you may now get it from collab-maint's git if you would like
to try it now.

Cheers,

I think Andrew BS probably think I am blocking everyone to upload here.

Actuality I'd like to have this in Debian for a long time and still will
to have it available in Debian.

However my question was does Sakura supports share one processs for
all tabs to reduce memory usage? I'd love to have Sakura package in
Debian if it fits the quality.

Shipping with Squeeze should meets *quality*. You may try the currently
version of LXDM on our git repo. I noticed some critical issuess from my
test. So I don't think we should be able to ship the currently version
with Squeeze.

However the problems seems has been solved in upstream, and now our LXDE
packaging team member Nikolas Poniros is working on this. It would be
great if you may help to improve the *quality* of LXDM either in
upstream or on the packaging part.

And we expected to packaging a new upstream release soon.

I mentioned evilvte and lxtermianl, both supports share one processs for
all tabs to reduce memory usage for a long time. Not sure if Sakura also
supports it now?

I uses lxterminal right now and it's completely desktop-independent as
it fits all I needed.

However, I'd love to have Sakura package in Debian if it fits the quality.

As Changwoo mentioned. We *need* look into it's history also, not
blindly trust the license statement provided by upstream author.

BTW, maybe convert exist dict-xdict package to stardict format is a
easier way as this dictionary is in Debian already:

Good work. I am still interested to see a really resource saving
terminal in Debian. I didn't upload sakura into debian becaure it's
useless if it's not really saving the resources.

Please have a look there is a fork called evilvte in debian which save
more resources. And another VTE-based terminal callled lxterminal saves
more.

Description : simple monitor config tool for LXDE

This is a very basic monitor config tool utilizing XRandR. It can let
you change the screen resolution on the fly. Besides, when you run
lxrandr with external monitor connected, its GUI will change, and show
you some quick options to get your projector working correctly.
 .
This tool doesn't aim to be a full xrandr frontend. It's utility for
grandma, not for geeks. If you need the full power of XRandR, get
xrandr (console) or grandr (GUI) and read some tutorials.
 .
LXRandR only gives you some easy and quick options which are intuitive.
It's very suitable for laptop users who frequently uses projectors or
external monitor and just want to get their work done without reading
a lot of "geek-centered" manuals or command line tutorials.

Currently, LXRandR can handle laptop LCD panel, VGA monitor, DVI, and
TV once XRandR extension 1.2 is available for them.

Description : Lightweight X11 Desktop Environment default config data

LXDE (the Lightweight X11 Desktop Environment) is a new project aimed
to provide a new desktop environment which is lightweight and fast.
 .
It's not designed to be powerful and bloated, but to be usable and slim
enough, and keep the resource usage low. Different from other desktop
environments, lxde don't tightly integrate every component. Instead,
lxde tried to make all components independent, and each of them can be
 used independently with fewer dependencies.
 .
 Features:
  - Lightweight, runs with reasonable memory usage
  - Fast, rund well even on older machines produced in 1999
  - Good-looking, GTK+ 2 internationalized user interface
  - Easy-to-use, the user interface is simple, but usable enough
  - Desktop independent (suprise! Every component can be used without LXDE)
  - Standard compliant, follows the specs on freedesktop.org
  - Suitable for old machines(old Pentium II CPU is enough).

It well-integrated with LXDE and other modern desktop environments, the
difference between this and xsm are:
* Removed the session dialog from xsm.
* Use better configuration.
* Provide a nice logout-dialog with the ability to
shutdown/reboot/suspend/hibernate via HAL or gdm,
and more

Even though it's based on xsm, but they are quite different. Make a diff
between xsm and lxsession for detail, if there is any doubt.
