It has recently been brought to my attention that an 0.9 tarball release of Ardour is finally available, and I for one would really love to see this in unstable. I would be happy to pick up where you left off, if not, or at least test new packages. I'm not a DD but I've packed a few things before, and hope to have my key signed soon... Read the bugreport and you'll see that I have packages already. Eric: If you want to, you can upload them now. Hi Robert, What is your status within Debian ? Bug#123250: Mozilla-local-es-{es,ar,hn} packages for Debian
On Wed, Sep 18, 2002 at 12:41:09PM +0200, Javier Fernández-Sanguino Peña wrote: What state is currently the mozilla-locale-es packages made by you Eric? This bug is still open and I, just yesterday, made packages to fix this (not knowing that you were already working on them). The packages currently provide localisation for Argentina and Latin America (derived from Mozillas' pages) and for Spain (from the NAVE project). Since there are some common files (es_unix.jar) I have made them all Provide: mozilla-local-es and Conflict: between them. The packages for es-AR and es-HN work fine but the es-ES one doesn't (I'm however using Mozilla 1.0.0 and the Xpi is for 0.95). Please, take a look at them, let's see if we can fix this stuff together: http://www.dat.etsit.upm.es/~jfs/debian/DO/mozilla-locale-es/ I did a mozilla-locale-es-es package some time ago. It was for version 0.9.8. As you maybe know locale translation files (.xpi) are versioned and you won't get mozilla 1.0 to work with mozilla-es-es 0.9.8 So when I did my package, it was aimed at woody (that shipped with mozilla 0.9.8) but version of mozilla in sid was already 0.9.9 so my package was rejected. Right now, version of mozilla in sid is 1.1 but there's no xpi version 1.1 available yet. When xpi 1.1 will be released, version of mozilla in sid will probably have increased already. Because of these dependencies problems, I have been stuck for the last months and still don't know how to syncronize the various files (also imagine what might happen if the 2 depending files could enter together sid but then, after 12 days, 1 passes to testing and the other not, because of, say, a RC bug). If you have any solution to this problem, you're welcome to hijack my ITP and maintain the package (or give me the solution and I'll maintain the package if you don't feel like doing it yourself). Should this really be part of Debian? I guess that although we have some games in our distribution there once was a consensus that so large data packages should not be part of the main distribution because we already have 3-4 CDs and this would just bloat it and too few people are really interested in it. crafty-books-small is 500kB crafty-books-medtosmall is 1MB crafty-books-medium is 13MB I don't think these sizes make them too bloated, there are many packages that are much more than 13MB. OTOH, crafty-books-large would probably be 100MB large and I certainly don't want it to be part of the main distribution. I could hang it to my home page though. I would suggest you to package this crafty game and maybe the small variant to give a starting point and then point out somewhere that better/larger opening books can be downloaded on the internet. Until now, crafty shipped with a default opening book included. This wasted bandwidth though because everytime I made a change to the chess engine, the upload had to be for the whole package. Separating the opening books from the chess engine make the system more modular and save bandwidth to all people running woody/sid. -- Eric VAN BUGGENHAUT [EMAIL PROTECTED] pgpwNBrnNxPn3.pgp Description: PGP signature

Shouldn't it be mozilla-locale-es? Is there anything that makes it Spain dependant? I followed the ISO codes, just like there's a mozilla-locale-de-at package. Both are valid because Spanish is talked in more than one country. If you live in Spain, you probably use es_ES as your locales and I use fr_BE as a Belgian French-speaking person.
