Bug#680589: ITP: eucalyptus -- Elastic Utility Computing Architecture

2012-07-06 Thread Rudy Godoy
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

EUCALYPTUS is an open source service overlay that implements elastic
computing using existing resources. The goal of EUCALYPTUS is to allow
sites with existing clusters and server infrastructure to co-host an
elastic computing service that is interface-compatible with Amazon's EC2.

This package contains the common parts: you will need to install either
eucalyptus-cloud, eucalyptus-cc or eucalyptus-nc (or all of them).

Bug#676139: O: netapplet -- User-friendly network interface control applet

2012-06-04 Thread Rudy Godoy
Package: wnpp

I'm orphaning this package since I'm no longer GNOME user, but
mainly because the package needs an upstream and I don't have
time to handle both roles.

Besides that, I'm guessing there's better ways to handle
networking in Debian. So, I believe this package is also a
candidate for archive removal in the near future.

Thanks,
Rudy

you did change to but into an ITP, so I would guess, you want to package this

Yes, I've almost complete the packaging work. I'm yet to work on
migration/upgrade cases then upload to unstable.

Anyways ... I also did some work to get that package into shape for our own

This sounds good. Send me anything you consider will contribute to

Bug#431570: O: usbmgr -- user-mode daemon which loads/unloads USB kernel modules

2007-07-03 Thread Rudy Godoy Guillén
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I intend to orphan the usbmgr package, since it lacks of upstream development
and better options exists.
I also intend to request for removal in a couple of weeks if no other still
wants
to take care of it.

The package description is:
When USB devices connect into or disconnect from a USB hub,
the usbmgr works as follows, according to configuration:
 .
   a) Load and unload Linux kernel modules.
   b) Execute scripts to setup USB devices.
 .
usbmgr is available under linux kernels having /proc/bus/usb and it is
suitable for specific needs regarding USB devices.
 .
This software was made for 2.4 kernels when USB support was inmature,
for wider and modern support of plugable devices you may want to use
hotplug by installing the udev package.

 Hi Rudy,

Hi,

I've packaged it myself from scratch because I needed a program that was able
to handle hacha files. It is OK for me if you want to maintain it, anyway :)

I wasn't intending to do so, I just wanted to avoid duplicate

 Hi,

Hi Goedson,

Is anyone still working in order to get flumotion into Debian? I've made
a package of 0.2.0 for personal use and am willing to put some extra
time on it to make it suitable for inclusion in Debian, but would like
to avoid duplication of efforts or step on other people's toes.

I've managed to get the packages built and working. Also splitted in
-admin and so. I wanted to have debconf-based initial config
generation, and also certificate generation. That's no finished yet
but I'm planning to work on it.

I'm going to upload that to my website so you can check and we can
cooperate. I've also made this for personal use but I wanted to push
it in Debian since isn't currently. I'm not a python guru so any
help/co-maintaining or complete take over is fine for me.

Yes I do want them, I got into a busy days and some issues on last weeks (that

I wish. So, my suggestion is if you have the time to do some progress go
ahead and let's upload (I'll have to ask my sponsor, since I'm on the NM

I'm traveling today and will be with limited access to internet, I'll return

Package seems to work fine, tough I'd like to ask mantainer to change the
name to mozilla-firefox-spanish-es only, due it'd more generic than es_ES,

this will not work on their systems.

Spelling is fine as far as I checked. I'm native spanish speaking.

  * Changed dependancy on menu to Recommends. (Closes: #184595)
  * Added spanish translated manpage.
  * debian/rules

- updated dh_installmanpages to dh_installman

- removed useless debhelper commands
- updated dh_installdirs to work with debian/compat = 4
  * Updated README.Debian

Hi, I've asked the same question (or almost same kind) on -mentors.
Yes I'm willing to mantain it since I still use it on two machines (i386 and
ppc). Now, I believe that even it gets deprecated by hotplug, and it's no
so popular it could be put as an option for those who want it (as we have
many MTA's).
I'm going to merge Joerg changes with my previous work, I think I'll
have news for #175847 this weekend.
