Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: gustavo panizzo * Package name: trinity Version : 1.1 Upstream Author : Dave Jones * URL : http://codemonkey.org.uk/projects/trinity * License : GPLv2 Programming Lang: C Description : A Linux System call fuzz tester As 'fuzz testing' suggests, trinity calls syscalls at random, with random arguments. Where Trinity differs is that the arguments it passes are not purely random. If a syscall took, for example, a file descriptor as an argument, one of the first things kernels does is validate that fd, if is not valid the kernel would just reject it as -EINVAL. So on startup, Trinity creates a list of file descriptors, by opening pipes, scanning sysfs, procfs, /dev, and creates a bunch of sockets using random network protocols. Then when a syscall needs an fd, it gets passed one of these at random. Trinity also shares those file descriptors between multiple threads, which causes havoc sometimes. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: "gustavo panizzo (gfa)" * Package name: python-pytest-timeout Version : 0.4.0 Upstream Author : Floris Bruynooghe * URL : http://bitbucket.org/flub/pytest-timeout/ * License : MIT Programming Lang: Python Description : pytest plugin to abort hanging tests. This is a plugin which will terminate tests after a certain timeout. When doing so it will show a stack dump of all threads running at the time. This is useful when running tests under a continuous integration server or simply if you don’t know why the test suite hangs. Note that while by default on POSIX systems py.test will continue to execute the tests after a test has timed, out this is not always possible. Often the only sure way to interrupt a hanging test is by terminating the entire process. As this is a hard termination (os._exit()) it will result in no teardown, JUnit XML output etc. But the plugin will ensure you will have the debugging output on stderr nevertheless, which is the most important part at this stage. See below for detailed information on the timeout methods and their side-effects. The pytest-timeout plugin has been tested on python 2.6 or higher, including 3.X and pypy. this package is a build-dependency of python-watchdog 0.8, i will need an sponsor (but i think i have one ;). -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-wnpp-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
