I turned this into a "Depends: sleepyhead" in the data task and a
"Suggests: sleepyhead" in tools. In Blends a package can perfectly show
up in more than one task. Once the packaging will show up in our VCS it
will be displayed on the according tasks pages under "Packaging has
started and developers might try the packaging code in VCS".

Fine. Just let us know here on this list in case of any trouble.

You are welcome

A quick look at Blends tells me that maybe this software could fit in
the 'Medical data' task (because its purpose is to analyse the data
generated by CPAP machines), although 'Tools' is a good option as well.

Sure, no problem. I will make sure to subscribe to the mailing list and
request membership of the Debian Med group on Alioth.

Thanks for the tips,

2015-09-29 Thread Andreas Tille
Hi Sergio,

I think this package is health related and thus a target for the Debian
Med team. Since we currently do not have a better task (category in
Blends terminilogy) the package might be mentioned in the tools task[1].
We might consider a new task like "therapy" or so.

I would recommend maintaining the package in the Debian Med team and use
our VCS (either Git or SVN at your preference). Here[2] you can find a
policy how to join the team and and what workflow we use.

Kind regards

  Andreas.

Thanks, Paul. Then I should have said "Debian policy" instead of DFSG.
Anyway, the point is that it is possible to build the software without
the bundled libraries, so I prefer to do it this way.

Thanks

FYI: library bundling isn't a DFSG issue, unless the library is
non-free of course. If the libraries are non-free then there is a DFSG
issue even if they aren't bundled. So the DFSG and library bundling
are orthogonal topics. Of course, bundling of libraries is against
Debian policy:

  Upstream Author : Mark Watkins
* URL : http://sourceforge.net/projects/sleepyhead/

Further comments: the package bundles some libraries, so it will need to
be adjusted to meet DFSG.
