mirror.mcs.anl.gov changes

2005-02-26 Thread Brian Elliott Finley
mirror.mcs.anl.gov has recently been expanded to a trio of servers that
use a round-robin dns config. Part of this design allows us to take
individual machines down for maintenance, while leaving the
site/services in full operation.
Our current site description on this page:
   http://www.debian.org/mirrors/list-full
Reads as such:
Site: mirror.mcs.anl.gov, alpaca.mcs.anl.gov
Type: leaf
Packages over FTP: /pub/debian/
Packages over HTTP: /debian/
Comment: This is a complete mirror, connected by Gigabit.
Please modify to only mention the mirror.mcs.anl.gov hostname, and feel
free to add the "a trio of servers" bit to the Comment field, if
appropriate. Still a single gig-e pipe that feeds all three.
Cheers, -Brian

Neither did I. Since Opera renders this page different than the other
versions, there must be a difference, however.

I tried everything I could think of, except looking at the page in a
different browser (d'oh!) than Opera... :-)

Opera. I didn't think it was a browser related problem, but it also
"WFM" in other browsers, now that you mention it.

I'll send you a link to a screenshot in private mail; I hope that okay
with you.

Please check again, I was not able to verify this. I do not see a
different structure in the Danish and English page.

I opened it in konqueror, lynx, w3m and mozilla.
Try to reload the page :-))

Problem with extra frames in the Danish language version of /devel/index

2005-02-26 Thread Kaare Olsen
Hi

In the Danish language version of /devel/index the sections
"Projekter" ("Projects") and "Forskelligt" ("Miscellaneous") are
displayed within two frames instead of one, unlike the other language
versions of that page. The same page's footer has two frames, also not
present in the other versions.

Something must be wrong in the Danish version, but I can't to spot the
error; could someone else please take a look?

NO! (sorry for screaming)
It actually needs about half a day or so to rebuild the complete page...
(not to mention the fact that there might still be bugs that only
occour if you rebuild the page from scratch although I already killed
much of them)
The remove_stale.pl script normally takes good care of removed files.
These ones were created due to a error in the Makefile and didn't get
caught therefor. This happens about, well, at most one time a year?

Can't currently remove it since I don't have my password for sudo here
at FOSDEM. Either Matt will take care or I will remove it Monday.

Przede wszystkim Debian to projekt międzynarodowy, a to oznacza, że na listy
dyskusyjne należy pisać po angielsku jeśli nie posiadają -pl- w nazwie.

A wracając do Twojej oferty pomocy.

repozytorium z tymi plikami.

http://www.debian.org/devel/website/

Please remove old files on www.debian.org

2005-02-26 Thread Jens Seidel
Hi,

Alfie's HTML file validation site (http://people.debian.org/~alfie/validate/)
shows an error in http://www.debian.org/buildd/index.en.html.
Please note that this file seems to be an old version of
http://www.debian.org/devel/buildd/index.en.html (and contains the "here"
missing in the first file).

Can someone please delete http://www.debian.org/buildd?

Maybe it's a good idea to delete /org/www.debian.org/www/ once a month
completely?

PS: Once Sid's debiandoc-sgml package is installed on www-master it's OK
to delete the temporary link to quick-reference in the parent directory
of release-notes/ which was added by Matt to support Japanese PDF
file creation.

Bug#297040: www.debian.org: No php4 copyright file via packages.debian.org

2005-02-26 Thread Francesco Poli
Package: www.debian.org
Version: N/A; reported 2005-02-26
Severity: normal

I cannot retrieve php4 copyright file via web.
Directing my browser to
http://packages.debian.org/changelogs/pool/main/p/php4/php4_4.3.10-8/php4.copyright

takes me to a warning that
"There was no copyright file found in this binary package. [...]"
and suggests me to file a bug if I cannot find the file in other
binary packages built[1] from the same source package.
I tried with some of such packages but failed.
So here I am to file a bug...

[1] Actually it says "build": it's a typo, I would say...
