Bug#652579: libXrandr2: libXrandr.so.2 should be symlinked to libXrandr.so

2011-12-18 Thread Ryan Nowakowski
Package: libXrandr2
Version: 2:1.3.2-2
Severity: normal

I'm linking using -lXrandr which doesn't work because there's no libXrandr.so
symlink. I recommend we add a symlink from libXrandr.so.2 to libXrandr.so.
The workaround is to link using "-L libXrandr.so.2".

Bug#652542: xserver-xorg-input-evdev: problem with double clicks when doing single click

You have a point.

I have to use it to avoid getting the mouse added twice.
Everything is identified twice for some reason

To avoid getting the mouse identified only once it seems to work also by
having drivers set to mouse and kbd, which are ignored. Instead of evdev
and device rows, which are not ignored, and having to add utoAddDevices
false.
And I have not noticed any of those random double clicks I had problem
with when using the old workaround either so the problem maybe is solved.

I had several screen hangs before but this one happens everytime I access that
spreadsheet and click on that graph. It also happened once when I was copying a
block of cells.
Installed xserver-xorg-video-intel-dbg to get a intel_gpu_dump but system says:
Couldn't map MMIO region: No such file or directory
Maybe because I don't see debugfs mounted and couldn't mount it

Package: xserver-xorg-video-intel
Version: 2:2.14.902-1
Severity: important

After upgrading my Sony Vaio PCG-R505B/P laptop from Lenny to Squeeze, the X
screen (vt7) is always blank after booting.
Switching virtual terminals works, and everything else appears to work fine
(this bug report is being written on a
SSH session on the laptop in question). The screen is still blank after
restarting gdm.

Marked as important because the two available workarounds do not work: using
the fbdev driver crashes the kernel, and
the vesa driver always gives "no screens found" error (despite exhausting all
possibilities in xorg.conf).

It doesn't matter. The /dev/input/mouse* devices don't get picked up
by any driver so they're ignored.
