To avoid getting the mouse identified only once it seems to work also by having drivers set to mouse and kbd, which are ignored. Instead of evdev and device rows, which are not ignored, and having to add utoAddDevices false. And I have not noticed any of those random double clicks I had problem with when using the old workaround either so the problem maybe is solved. -- Mvh Anders Lagerås signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature

Switching virtual terminals works, and everything else appears to work fine (this bug report is being written on a SSH session on the laptop in question). The screen is still blank after restarting gdm. Marked as important because the two available workarounds do not work: using the fbdev driver crashes the kernel, and the vesa driver always gives "no screens found" error (despite exhausting all possibilities in xorg.conf). >From dmesg: --- [1.231212] Linux agpgart interface v0.103 [1.231422] agpgart-intel :00:00.0: Intel 830M Chipset [1.231513] agpgart-intel :00:00.0: detected gtt size: 131072K total, 131072K mappable [1.232168] agpgart-intel :00:00.0: detected 1024K stolen memory [1.232598] agpgart-intel :00:00.0: AGP aperture is 128M @ 0xe800 [1.232996] i8042: PNP: PS/2 Controller [PNP0303:KBC,PNP0f13:MOUE] at 0x60,0x64 irq 1,12 [9.260992] i915 :00:02.0: PCI INT A -> Link[LNKA] -> GSI 9 (level, low) -> IRQ 9 [9.261172] i915 :00:02.0: setting latency timer to 64 [9.284701] [drm] Supports vblank timestamp caching Rev 1 (10.10.2010).
