After tracing this a bit, I resolved it by removing the old libudev0 which
was still installed.
The bug is that chrome is linked against both libudev0 and libudev1 and was
resolving both
in an interfering manner.
Starting chrome with --no-sandbox I got this additional hint:
not in sys :/sys/dev/char/226:0
Which is from this udev check and doesn't make any sense at all as
/sys/dev/char/226:0
is part of the /sys tree and also present in there.

about any remaining users of this lib.
Now 3D acceleration is working fine again.

The workaround is to disable compositing. My first attempts produced only a small backtrace (attached) which seems
to be indication of missing some -dbg packages (I already have -core-dbg
installed).
Since I can't find a -joystick-dbg package I'm assuming I have to
recompile -joystick myself. I'll look into it as soon as possible, but
definitely not this weekend.
Attached a slightly bigger backtrace obtained with -joystick recompiled
with debugging symbols on. Just hope I got it right ;)

My first attempts produced only a small backtrace (attached) which seems
to be indication of missing some -dbg packages (I already have -core-dbg
installed).
Since I can't find a -joystick-dbg package I'm assuming I have to
recompile -joystick myself. I'll look into it as soon as possible, but
definitely not this weekend.

Preferably per some unique id. I only need the emulate wheel on the TouchPoint, but not on other pointing devices. Hello, I just tried out xdm (instead of gdm) but noticed that .profile is not sourced. Moving all '@include's at the bottom in /etc/pam.d/xdm didn't make a difference either (or am I completely misunderstanding this?). Here what it does: - remove bad aliases (std was aliased to std_cedilla) - changed all references from std_comma to std (std is the reference) - added std_comma and comma aliases (as Andrei's patch does) Isn't it necessary to add the aliases for std_comma and comma everywhere? I had the same question but ignored it. It's really annoying to go through each reference of ro layout and add a new layout.
