Bug#284581: WSXGA screen size missing in config (1680x1050)
branden: these are the GTF modelines i picked off the web. note that these are not used in my XF86Config-4 file, i have simply added "1680x1050" to the beginning of each Modes line, and that works. i don't know enough about X under to know whether the lines below will allow the system to provide a 1680x1050 option or not. # 1680x1050 @ 60.00 Hz (GTF) hsync: 65.22 kHz; pclk: 147.14 MHz Modeline "1680x1050" 147.14 1680 1784 1968 2256 1050 1051 1054 1087 # 1680x1050 @ 75.00 Hz (GTF) hsync: 82.20 kHz; pclk: 188.07 MHz Modeline "1680x1050" 188.07 1680 1800 1984 2288 1050 1051 1054 1096 # 1680x1050 @ 85.00 Hz (GTF) hsync: 93.76 kHz; pclk: 214.51 MHz Modeline "1680x1050" 214.51 1680 1800 1984 2288 1050 1051 1054 1103 # 1680x1050 @ 100.00 Hz (GTF) hsync: 111.20 kHz; pclk: 256.20 MHz Modeline "1680x1050" 256.20 1680 1808 1992 2304 1050 1051 1054 1112 cheers, -duncan -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#284581: WSXGA screen size missing in config (1680x1050)
i don't have a ModeLine in my XF86Config-4 at all, i've simply added "1680x1050" to the beginning of the Modes lines which are used. unfortunately 1680x1050 doesn't appear to be a VESA standard size, i can only find "GTF" ModeLines for this size of screen. would that be an acceptable substitute, or not? cheers, -duncan -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Bug#284581: WSXGA screen size missing in config (1680x1050)
Package: xserver-xfree86 Version: 4.3.0.dfsg.1-8 just installed debian on a AJP M6000NE laptop, which appears to be very similar to the ASUS M6N series, but it has a larger wide screen. when configuring XFree86 with debconf, the screen size of the laptop (1680x1050) isn't present in the list. when i add 1680x1050 to the beginning of the generated Modes lines in XF86Config-4, it works fine. is it possible to add 1680x1050 to the screen sizes available so that users can use debconf to manage such a configuration? i think this is probably a minor/wishlist bug, and fairly trivial to fix. however, my debian skills are not at the level where i'd feel confident of any fix i provided. happy to test any fixes before release. cheers, -duncan
