Bug#968192: xkb-data: bepo_afnor missing eszett character

2021-01-27 Thread Jean-Louis Biasini
after learning a bit more about bépo layout, it turns out the
problematics keys are all supposed to be dead keys.

not being detected as such due to XCompose not implementing them is the
reason why it does not work properly

So I’ll report this to libx11-data you can close this.

Bug#968192: xkb-data: bepo_afnor missing eszett character

2020-08-10 Thread Jean-Louis Biasini
Package: xkb-data
Version: 2.29-2
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

the french bepo variant afnor contains an error which prevent the user from
typing german eszett caracter ß (code ssharp)

The error is easily spotable in /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/fr since the
same
mapping already exist and is correctly mapped on other variant of the
bepo (see patch).

thanks for your work,

jean-louis

Bug#507564: [xserver-xorg-video-intel] possible turn over

2008-12-12 Thread Jean-Louis Biasini
Package: xserver-xorg-video-intel
Version: 2:2.3.2-2+lenny5

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---
Hello,

I think that I've just found a turn over:

Adding :
Option "FramebufferCompression" "off"
to the device section of /etc/X11/xorg.conf
seems to avoid the problem

cheers

This fix doesn't work for me...
I have a 945GM on a Fujitsu pi 1505, compiz-fusion is still very slow
especially on scrolling and resizing windows.
Did I miss something ?

Bug#449314: [xserver-xorg-video-intel] On fujitsu Pi 1505 with 945gm I have no problem with hibernation

2008-12-08 Thread Jean-Louis Biasini
Package: xserver-xorg-video-intel
Version: 2:2.3.2-2+lenny5

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---
Hello,

I use a Fujitsu Pi 1505 with a 945gm intel card also. I don't meet this issue
on lenny. Although I have problem with xserver-xorg-video-intel anyway (with
compiz only), hibernation works perfectly.
I can see from your xorg.conf that your are using the old i810 driver. With the
945gm you should use the intel instead! As the new intel exa mode is pretty
slow with it
you also have to turn it back to xaa. To do so :
in /etc/X11/xorg.conf's section "device"
- change:
Driver "i810"
to :
Driver "intel"

add :
Option "AccelMethod" "XAA"

And give it a try!
I hope it will help

Cheers

Jean-Louis Biasini

Bug#507564: [compiz] Compiz cause the whole computer to hang

2008-12-02 Thread Jean-Louis Biasini
Package: compiz
Version: 0.7.6-7
Severity: grave

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---
Dear Debian developpers,

This is very odd and occurs since nearly two mouth. Sometime compiz crash the
whole computer just after being launch. It occurs always at the start of an
effect like scale, moving a windows, rotating the cube... By Crash the whole
computeur I mean that even ctrl + alt + Fkey or ctrl+ alt + backspace don't work
anymore even after a long time waiting. The display just halt in his last
position. Nothing respond anymore > only hard reboot can solve it.
The funny thing about it is that I can use compiz for ages without a problem
(as I'm using hibernation I use to have quite long sessions.)
But when I launch compiz (after reboot for example) it hangs nearly 1 or 2
times for 3 launch.
I'm using the intel drivers in xorg. Since this is very slow with EXA (I've got
an Intel 945GM card), I'm using the XAA drivers of intel (see xorg.conf below)
but it also occurs with EXA.
I just don't know what for log can help you on this and how to get them. So
when you need something more, please ask ;)

Regards,

Jean-Louis Biasini
