Re: [Declude.JunkMail] Server change over

2002-12-31 Thread Avolve Support
I don't think it is tied to the server, as I had mine blow up over Thanksgiving and
just recovered the .cfg file from the old server and put it on the new server.

Do you have the mail server names the same as the last one ?

server but with a different machine name. Now junkmail/virus pro
doesn't like my CODE #

I've forgotten the procedure and info required to get a new one

RE: [Declude.JunkMail] Server change over

2002-12-31 Thread Jim Rooth
To my understanding the code is actually lnked to the mail server name.
Without having the exact same name, declude will not work with the old code.
There was a problem earlier with Imail...one of their versions renamed the
mail server and it caused the virus protection to come to a screeching halt.

We haven't figure that out yet.

The most recent copy is at http://www.declude.com/release/162/all_list.dat
(which hasn't changed since it was first put online). At some point, we
will likely have an updated version with each release. For E-mail, the
data shouldn't get stale too quickly, since most mailservers are on IPs
that were allocated more than a few months ago.

It's part of an experimental feature in Declude JunkMail Pro that
determines the countries that an E-mail travelled through (based on the IP

[Declude.JunkMail] FROM?

Hi;
Anyway other than
using the HEADERS filter type to read the name of a TO

We are getting a

name.

I was wondering if
we can read the "Fantasy Toon" without using HEADERS?

[Declude.JunkMail] Chance of consideration?

2002-12-31 Thread Kami Razvan
Title: Message

Hi
Scott:
Any chance of this
ever be considered. This would be for a wildcard in FROM
field.

Another trend is:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

naturally anyone
buying drug from someone with a yahoo account should be questioned. We get
these type of eMails with the numbers changing from free
accounts.

Of course we don't
want to block: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (just an
example).

But variations of
drugstore*@yahoo.com or hotmail.com
should be a flag.

I know we have
talked about wildcards in the filters for the body but I think in the FROM field
it should not be as hard to implement.

Regards,
Kami

Re: [Declude.JunkMail] Chance of consideration?

2002-12-31 Thread Dan Patnode
Scott,

What if instead of a single wildcard character (that could mistake actual content as
having a wildcard, with unexpected results), there was a multi character code? Web
URLs, for example, use a system that starts with %:

http://www.w3.org/International/O-URL-code.html

Whereby san diego looks like San%20diego

So instead of drugstore*@yahoo.com, we put something like drugstore{*}@yahoo.com into
our content filters. Such a system (instead of just a character) would also allow for
flexibility like {#} for just a number and {##} for multiple numbers. A system unique
enough that it doesn't preclude possible actual search string text, but simple enough
to easily remember and type.

My {#} cents. ;)

Dan
