Great, thanks. I thought I'd seen something on this a while back. Hate to
test by blowing away my iMail domain... :)

Jeff,

Declude will process them just fine. I run in this configuration for
customers that have backend exchange boxes where my gateways are
imail/declude.

The key thing in terms of Declude to remember is that you will need a folder
off the declude folder of the domain you are gatewaying for with a
$default$.junkmail file for the domain. This is all covered in the Declude
manual.

Also, don't forget to do all the necessary steps for imail to act as a
gateway.

If you run into any specific issues post to the list and we will help ya
out.

We're currently running Declude on iMail 8.2 and it's working great. But
we

have a direcive to combine our external and internal mail systems, and I'd
like to use iMail as a gateway for ou Exchange Server, mostly to keep
using
Declude. If I configure iMail as an SMTP gateway, will Declude still run

the incoming messages or will iMail pass them on before Declude gets

it
(to stop dictionary attacks) declude is no longer using the

Or do I need a domain directory now called scrubbed.domain.com since I
am
adding "scrubbed." Onto the front of the domain?

I have
quick question re. 3.0 version of Declude.
I
installed both the .20 and the .21 version on a windows 2003 enterprise server

I've
not heard back from Declude as to a fix.

I'd
like to go to 8.22 to address a few issues but am worried about 3.0.5.21 having
the memory leak. I can only run about 2 to 4
hours
before we seem to lose the ability to access dns. and run low on
memory.

Does 8.22 require 3.0 or can I run my 2.x

Does
anyone have any experiance with this and would share any

RE: [Declude.JunkMail] Declude Confirm?

2005-12-08 Thread John T \(Lists\)
The problem with Declude Confirm has to do with programmed folder use.
Declude is aware of this issue, and has stated that it will be addressed in
a future release, but at this time there is no desire to spend much time on
it.

As such, I would ask the Declude user community to voice its opinion on
Declude Confirm to let Declude know how why value this feature.

If people want, I will create a quick free poll for all to use.

This way, if we show Declude that we all want this, they will place a higher
priority on it.

RE: [Declude.JunkMail] SPF PASS/FAIL test format

2005-12-08 Thread Colbeck, Andrew

Karl, the correct format is as below:

SPFPASS  spf pass x 0 0SPFFAIL  spf fail x 5 0
Note that nobody uses SPFPASS to grant a negative
weight to an incoming message.  This is because a certain family of the bad
guys definitely use SPF and their own mail servers, and we don't want to
help them.

The best practice is to score a positive weight for a hit
on SPFFAIL, ignore SPFUNKNOWN, and not grant a negative weight on
SPFPASS.

If you want to go the extra mile, use SPFPASS as a
test in a JunkMail Pro filter file in combination with other
tests.

Idea 1) Use it with TESTSFAILED to stop processing early
in a filter file that checks for zombie spam to mitigate false
positives.
Idea 2) Use it with a filter file that already awards
negative points to your important business partners to award extra negative
weight so as to mitigate false positives (e.g. to counterbalance a sudden
listing of their IP address in SpamCop).

  [Declude.JunkMail] SPF PASS/FAIL test format

  Quick question on the global.cfg
  file…

  I upgraded to 3.0.5 yesterday.
Working great so far. I want to add the SPFPASS and SPFFAIL tests.. what is
the format ? I want to subtract 7 points for a pass, and add 7 points for a
fail…( if they’re too stupid to have an SPF by now… )

I have this, but it is obviously
  wrong…

  SPFFAIL
  spffail
  x x 7
  0
  SPFPASS
  spfpass
  x x -7
  0

[Declude.JunkMail] Declude Confirm?

2005-12-08 Thread Eric Hebert
Since there are no Declude confirm list I just decided to use this list, I hope
you don't mind.

After multipple testing I got to the conclusion that confirm is not working in
3.0.5.22 with Imail 8.22 .

For subscribing,
Confirm get the message store it in the right folder (/spool/confirm) and send
the reply to the use no issue yet there.
You reply to the said message and the in got nowhere... Well it acctualy log
the entry in the confirm.log file but it don't move the message form the
/spool/confirm to neither the /spool nor the /spool/proc folder.

Well after figuring that out I tried to move the original message stored in the
/spool/confirm to the /spool/spam ?? Who knows and try the reply again.. No
luck.. Moved it to my declude log folder just in case...no luck either.

After that I moved it to the proc folder to acctualy get into my test list
which worked! and try the unsubscribe.

Well let me resume the unsubscribe feature quick... It just sent me
confirmation email over and over and over...

Also note that all of the above where working OK with 2.0.6...

Best regards,
