Re: [Declude.JunkMail] Declude Console ??

2003-06-19 Thread R. Scott Perry

What is the Declude Console ??
It's a console (window) that can be used with the Declude programs. It was
originally designed for Declude Hijack, but can be used with Declude
JunkMail or Declude Virus as well. It displays basic information about
E-mail that is being scanned. To use it, you can download the deccon.exe
file from http://www.declude.com/release/170/deccon.exe and copy it into
your \IMail directory. Then, add a line CONSOLE ON to your
\IMail\Declude\global.cfg file, and the Declude Console will automatically
start up the next time an E-mail is processed.

Could you activate horizontal scroll capability for the window. Even at

Re: [Declude.JunkMail] Declude Console (Update)

2002-09-30 Thread R. Scott Perry

There were two deccon.exe in task manager.

There was one Declude Console window open as expected.

There was a error window open that said the following:

Couldn;t create file map2; already exist.

That is the exact message, including punctuation marks, except the
quotes.

That's a message that is displayed by an older version of the Declude
console -- if you download the latest one (from
http://www.declude.com/release/160/deccon.exe ), it won't display that
message, and will properly handle multiple processes (and does has real
better grammer and doesnt do puncuation too bad; neither).

RE: [Declude.JunkMail] Declude Console (Update)

2002-09-30 Thread John Tolmachoff

OK, that did it.

Comments/questions:

Could you include version information, both in the About box and in the
file properties? This would make it easy to identify which version is
being run, and can be compared to the latest version.

You have a Help button on the menu, why not just remove it?

In regards to the Terminal services issue, I have been thinking about
it. Terminal services will only show what has been setup to run for all
users. Deccon.exe is called by declude.exe, and therefore it kind of
makes sense that it will not show up in a terminal session. Other way of
looking at it is that deccon.exe is not an installed program, but one
that is only called. Maybe if it was installed or made into to 2 parts,
on the current version and then a second that is a reporting window that
gets installed, then the current version passes the actual information
for display to the installed version that is set up to run for all
users.

There should only be one.

There may temporarily be more than one when the server is first started,

However, there should not normally be more than one deccon.exe process

Re: [Declude.JunkMail] Declude Console question

2002-08-12 Thread R. Scott Perry

I've been curious about how messages show up in the Declude Console as
they stream through.
In the top third of the console window messages are labeled as I, O, IS,
OS, IV, or OV (I assume these standing for incoming/outgoing, SPAM, and
Virus).

That is correct.

Here's my question:
If a message shows up as IS or OS does this mean it has failed *any* SPAM
test, or has it failed enough tests to be deleted (or held or bounced)?

It means that it has failed any spam test. So even if the E-mail just
fails the SPAMHEADERS test, for example, it would show up with an S in
the Declude Console.

I get all zeroes in the Declude Console, when I load it. What am I
doing

If you're loading it, it won't work -- Declude needs to start it
automatically. It will start automatically when the next E-mail is
received, if the \IMail\deccon.exe file exists, and if the config files
all
have CONSOLE ON in them.

RE: [Declude.JunkMail] Declude console. What am I missing?

2002-04-15 Thread R. Scott Perry

The window just pops up on its own?

That's correct. Declude has to start it automatically, or it may not work
properly.

Console on in Global.cfg and virus.cfg, right?

That's correct. Do you have any lines in any \IMail\Declude\*.cfg files
that have CONSOLE in them, other than the CONSOLE ON lines?

Not also the .junkmail file?

That's also correct -- Declude won't look for the line in that file.

The next step would be to use the debug mode of both Declude JunkMail and
Declude Virus. To do that, change the LOGLEVEL LOW line in
\IMail\Declude\virus.cfg and \IMail\Declude\global.cfg to LOGLEVEL
DEBUG. Then, after an E-mail is received by the server, you can then
switch back to LOGLEVEL LOW (the debug mode adds huge amounts of
information to the log file). You can then E-mail me the Declude log files
(as an attachment), and I can take a look at it to see what the problem may be.

It is a console that lets you see some basic information about the recent

download it from http://www.declude.com/release/140/deccon.exe and place it

Scott,

I know it's probably a lot easier said than done, but, since the console
app
already works as a psudo service for HiJack to count relays, you could
use
the same type of communication lines to make it an NT service with a
seperate monitor app (which would work in terminal server), and maybe
throw
in a relay count reset button for us HiJack users. G

Is there a way to see the real time Declude console when logged on via
terminal services?

I do not believe there is a way to see it when logged on via terminal
services.
