Excellent. Thanks Scott. I'm not too worried about mail TO that account.
It will either not be a real account or will not be read. Outgoing only.

So I can set DOSENDERACTIONS ON in my global.cfg. In order to have a footer
added to email sent from [EMAIL PROTECTED] but nobody else in the
example.com domain, I would create a user1.junkmail file (we're using Pro)
and put "CATCHALLMAILS FOOTER [This is my footer]"?
Correct.

Note that this would apply to both E-mail from [EMAIL PROTECTED], as well
as E-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] (there isn't any way around that).

2003-05-30 Thread Todd Ryan
Scott,

You mentioned you can use this to add a footer based on a per-user setting
as well? I think I have finally wrapped my head around this, but I would
like you to check my logic. (Maybe because it's been a LOOONG day...)

Thanks!

2003-05-30 Thread R. Scott Perry

Can you elaborate on this, please? Maybe a practical example of its use,
would help me understand . . .
I believe the idea behind the original suggestion for it was a way to have
per-domain footers for outgoing E-mail. For example, with DOSENDERACTIONS
ON, you could have a \IMail\Declude\example.com\$default$.JunkMail file
with "CATCHALLMAILS FOOTER [This is a footer for the @example.com domain]"
in it. This would then get applied to all E-mails to *or* from @example.com.

Re: [Declude.JunkMail] Declude JunkMail v1.70 (beta) released

Since the archives are down, can somebody post an example of the line that
goes in the GLOBAL.CFG file for the SPAMDOMAINS test, as well as
suggestions for the contents of the spamdomains.txt file?
The full line in the global.cfg file would look something like:

SPAMDOMAINS spamdomains C:\IMail\Declude\sd.txt x 10 0

I'll let others comment as to what domains work well in there.

2003-05-29 Thread R. Scott Perry

Could you explain: DOSENDERACTIONS ON
When this is set (with a line "DOSENDERACTIONS ON" in the
\IMail\Declude\global.cfg file), Declude JunkMail will attempt to take
actions on an E-mail based on the sender (as well as any
recipients). Declude JunkMail will treat the sender as if it was a
recipient, as far as the actions go (using per-user or per-domain
configuration files if needed, for example).

No. The file for the SPAMDOMAINS test can now contain either 1 entry or 2
entries, such as:

yahoo.com
hotmail.com msn.com
In the first case, an E-mail with a return address containing "yahoo.com"
would need to have a reverse DNS entry containing "yahoo.com" to pass the
test (this works as before).

In the second card, an E-mail containing "hotmail.com" in the return
address could have *either* "hotmail.com" or "msn.com" in the reverse DNS
entry.

possibly seeing failed tests in the logs?)
Either that, or special needs with external tests, are the only reasons I
can think of for not turning it on.
