If i were you on such a low power box, I would download 1.27 beta and let it do the prescan to save resources. I send out a mailall to 13000 addresses on my dual PIII850MHz box with 512MB RAM and it kills it with virus scanning enabled. Disabled, it hardly touches it. I have my entire IMAIL directory excluded, with the option to include subfolders checked. It's working fine for me.
