[Bug 36676] gedit doesn't autodetct Japanese encodings
Public bug report changed: https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/36676 Comment: Paolo Maggi, gedit developer, said IIMO, the japanese translators should translate the default value of the above gconf key so to match the needs of the japanese people. in comment #1. This is exactly my approach. But unfortunately, Japanese translator does not aware the fact, so gedit still fails to auto-detect japanese encodings. I sent a revised diff with the link of the GNOME BUG#, so he will update his translation sooner or later. If his update will not be in Dapper release, please use my diff. [Bug 20939] evolution doesn't use seahorse-agent when started by hotkey instead of gnome-panel or shell
Public bug report changed: https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/20939 Summary changed to: evolution doesn't use seahorse-agent when started by hotkey instead of gnome-panel or shell Description changed to: I think I've found a bug! I nuked most of my dot-files for this so it should be a rather clean system ;-). If I start evolution through the panel or by console it uses seahorse-agent as it should for encrypted mail, but if I start is as I almost always do, with my hotkey, evo tries to use it's own gpg-handler, which seems to be broken for me (bug #14218 [https://launchpad.net/malone/bugtrackers/ubuntu-bugzilla/14218] probably). This is probably the wrong package to blame, but I want to make sure seb128 sees this ;-). Public bug report changed: https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/20939 Comment: in this case, I don't think the problem is in evolution, but in the part of gnome, which actually handles the hotkeys, for not providing a correct environment. [Bug 33002] logout dialog UI objections
Public bug report changed: https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/33002 Comment: I'd like to be able to remove the options that my machine doesn't support. There should be a gnome-power-preferences that: 1) Specify buttons on the logout dialogue. There reboot could be ticked off by default but those that need to dualbot, use reboot regularly. Maybe a function could probe whether hibernate and/or sleep is available. 2) Allow what powerbutton does. I want my powerbutton to turn off, with the nice usplash screen. Power button: [ Log out dialogue ] (default) [ Power off ] (with timer) [ Sleep ] [Hibernate ] [ Log out ] [ Custom command ] (halt rhytmbox whatever) 3) Tooltips with ALL buttons, to tell people what suspend, hibernate, log out, sleep, etc means. Eg: Hibernate saves your current session and powers off the computer, when you turn it on again it will be just as when you pushed hibernate (right click for more help on this subject) Sleep saves your current session and put the computer in low power mode. When you hit a key or the powerbutton the session will be just as is was when you pushed the sleep button. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 36591] menu entry inconsistent with Serpentine
Public bug report changed: https://launchpad.net/malone/bugs/36591 Comment: The menu entries are indeed Serpentine Audio CD Creator and Sound Juicer CD Extractor in Dapper Flight 5, fully updated to 28 March. I'm not overly convinced that this is an issue. For Serpentine it is very important that it is for audio CDs as opposed to data CDs. For Sound Juicer you would normally only Extract or Rip audio CDs and the tooltip makes it clear that they are talking about music CDs. The issue, I suppose, is whether consistency is important here due to the fact that they appear next to each other in the 'Sound and Video' submenu. Perhaps one for the Ubuntu-Desktop people? -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
