[Bug 15413] Re: ip neigh flush dev eth0 is hanging
No, i think it is not - maybe partly :-). A ip neigh flush dev eth0 returns *** Flush is not complete after 10 rounds *** and echo $? is 1! I think 0 is no error? In Fedora and Suse the CONFIG_ATM and CONFIG_ATM_CLIP are modules. In Debian and Ubuntu this two are fix compiled into the kernel. I think, if this two components compiled as modules, then the ip neigh flush dev eth0 command returns 0 - also on Debian and Ubuntu - not only on Fedora and Suse ;-) -- ip neigh flush dev eth0 is hanging https://launchpad.net/bugs/15413 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 51122] intergrate other email clients
Public bug reported: is there a way to intergrate the main email clients users use into bugbuddy. not everyone knows how to use or set up sendmail. I think it would be nice if the 2 main clients could be used to send bug reports like thunderbird and evolution. is this something that is even possible? im thinking of new users that find bugs or when an app crashes they have no idea what to do atleast if it gives them a choice at the end to send with evolution/thunderbird/postfix/send mail that would help in the backtrace being posted without them having to worry about saving it and pasting it. ** Affects: bug-buddy (Ubuntu) Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed -- intergrate other email clients https://launchpad.net/bugs/51122 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution I have 4 accounts set up in evolution, and when it's fetching mail at startup (I can see 2 Fetch Mail... strings on the bottom of the window), I don't always get new mail, but when I press F9 evolution downloads thoose new mails too. My theory is that maybe only 2 accounts are checked at startup and not all of them. I can't tell a system behind this bug though, I'm just sure there's something wicked going on. [Bug 51228] windows fail to respect panel boundaries with second screen 'above'
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gdm I am running a dual screens using Xinerama and the vga output from my laptop. When I have the second screen set to the right of my laptop's built in screen, as follows, maximised windows correctly respect the boundaries of any panels I have on either screen: Section ServerLayout ... Screen Second Screen RightOf Default Screen ... EndSection However, when I change this to: Screen Second Screen Above Default Screen ...any panels at the joining edge of each screen (the top edge of 'Default Screen' and the bottom edge of 'Second Screen') fail to be respected by maximised / moved windows. maximised windows maximise to fill the space behind the panel, and moved windows do not experience the usual resistance effect when passing the panel boundary. I have posted screenshots of the effect and my xorg.conf here: http://carroll.org.uk/files/x11-above-bug/ Please email me if you need any more info, and accept my appologies if this is filed against the wrong package. I suspect it's gnome, but I'm really not sure what part deals with all that window behaviour. I have this bug too. This happened only after Gnome was updated. [Bug 48936] Re: GDM: Greeter application crashing
I am no longer experiencing this bug (at least haven't noticed it lately). There have been some libgtk updates (one today) as well as gdm updates recently. On top of that, I am now using the Industrial (ximian) graphical login theme. If others are still having this problem I suppose I can find some time to play around and attempt to reproduce this problem. -- GDM: Greeter application crashing https://launchpad.net/bugs/48936 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 51233] gdm fails to create session
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gdm After upgrading to Dapper from Breezy, GDM gives me an error message (see below) when I attempt to log in and refuses to start gnome-session. I can only log into the xterm failsafe session. Once in the failsafe session, I can run gnome-session from this failsafe xterm to get a working GNOME environment, but GDM can't seem to do it on its own. This problem happens with freshly-created users with blank home directories. It also happens on a completely different machine - I also upgraded my Thinkpad to Dapper from Breezy and it has exactly the same issue. I've tried reinstalling gnome, gnome-session, and gdm. Again, even brand-new users can't get into gdm, so this leads me to believe the problem is not in my personal configuration of GNOME. I've also tried deleting .gnome2/session and .ICEAuthority, and trying to log in with a new user with a completely blank home directory. No dice. Here is the message I get when logging into a regular GNOME session: I could not start your session and so I have started the failsafe xterm session. Windows have focus only if you have your cursor above them. To get out of this mode type 'exit' in the window in the upper left corner. Here is the contents of .xsession-errors: /etc/gdm/PreSession/Default: Registering your session with wtmp and utmp /etc/gdm/PreSession/Default: running: /usr/bin/sessreg -a -w /var/log/wtmp -u /var/run/utmp -x /var/lib/gdm/:0.Xservers -h -l :0 bill /etc/gdm/Xsession: Beginning session setup... /etc/gdm/Xsession: Executing /usr/bin/gnome-session failed, will try to run x-terminal-emulator Discussions here: http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=196830 http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=200133 ** Affects: gdm (Ubuntu) Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed -- gdm fails to create session https://launchpad.net/bugs/51233 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 51242] New windows shouldn't steal focus
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: metacity Whenever a new window pops up on Dapper, metacity assigns the focus to it. This is bad behaviour. While Dapper solved the problem for some password entries, it remains that whenever typing in a terminal or text editor, one never knows if/when a popup will appear and where the text will end up.
