[Bug 57676] Re: Gimp segfaults when drawing with a tablet

2006-11-01 Thread Kristoffer Lundén
My Bug #69391 is marked as a duplicate of this one, and that is probably
correct, but my Gimp crashes for more scenarios than the one listed
above, it can crash doing just about anything (selecting tools, drawing
normally etc), however using a tablet does seem to be the common factor
so far. That's not to say that it crashes every time I do one of those
things, but it may happen a bit randomly.

Just thought I'd mention that.

Ubuntu 6.10, Gimp that comes with it, nothing special otherwise apart
from using a Wacom.

[Bug 51228] Re: windows fail to respect panel boundaries with second screen 'above'

2006-11-01 Thread Matthew Carroll
Hi Daniel

I was using Dapper when I reported the bug, now Edgy. I haven't had
cause to use xinerama with one screen above the other for a while, so I
forgot about this until now.

Unfortunately I cannot test whether the bug is still occurring in Edgy,
since another bug in xinerama is preventing windows being moved between
the two screens and maximized properly:

https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/x11proto-
xinerama/+bug/63050

...once that is fixed I'll test this issue again.

Thanks

[Bug 69795] Copying from a POP account to an IMAP one lose the message

2006-11-01 Thread Jim Braux-Zin
Public bug reported:

Hello,

I loose two important messages today by dragging them from the inbox of
my pop account to the "Important" folder on an IMAP account, in order to
save them.

The messages actually disappeared, there were not even in the trash.

I tried with a test message to do the same using the context menu and
"move to a folder": same result.

I think it's a critical issue as it can lead to the loss of important
data!!

Thank you

[Bug 69009] Re: Session management does not work and does not agree with ubuntu documentation

2006-11-01 Thread Vincenzo Ciancia
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 46675 ***

Thank you for your continuous support and quick responsiveness on bug
reports, I comment here publicly to leave a reference:

- Ok to report one issue by bug (and sorry for the mistake) but I didn't
find the other points in other bug reports, do you know where they are,
if I don't suck too much of your time?

- Since the manual is plain wrong, where can I find information to
explain people how to make their programs start automatically at next
login? I understand there must be workarounds (since the session-
management-properties dialog does not work) I personally tweaked my
.config/autostart, but is this the _only_ way ATM?

2006-11-01 Thread i3dmaster
Hi Daniel, can I get a step-by-step procedure on how to do this? I did
something similar like what you said before I gave up to do the backtrace
which is to launch a gdb on console1 and try to attach the gaim pid opened

it will segfault immediately), but it wouldn't allow me to attach the pid.

[Bug 69777] Menu has no highlighting

I installed edgy fresh, but with some old /home. New users work okay, but my
Dapper user gets no visible highlighting etc when using the menu in the top
gnome-panel. I click on a menu and can navigate, can see the cursor (an arrow),

[Bug 69688] Evolution tasks are incompatible to Outlook tasks

2006-11-01 Thread Kuropka
Public bug reported:

I am working with both Evolution and MS-Outlook (unfortunatelly I need
to continue doing this until I can handle all MS-Documents without
problems with Ubuntu). Therefore I noticed the following incompatiblity
between tasks stored by Outlook in the exchange server and tasks stored
by Evolution in the exchange server:

Outlook does not differentiate between tasks with "normal" and "(none)"
priorty. Both concepts are handled as tasks with "normal" priority.
Unfortunatelly Outlook stores tasks with "normal" priority without any
priority label (as "(none)" priority task). This results in all these
tasks without a priority label are shown in Evolution as "(none)" tasks.
This is a minior bug but it is really nasty because it puzzles the
ordering of tasks: high, normal, low, (none). Causing all "normal" tasks
stored by Outlook to be shown in the last position in Evolution instead
of in between of "high" and "low" (when ordering is activated).

In the opposite direction these problem seems not to occur.

Can anybody do me the favour and add somewhere in the many lines of
Evolution-Code a proper line which makes Evolution handling tasks
without a priority label as "normal" priorised tasks?

Thank you and best regards,
Dominik Kuropka

Bruno, it's badged because it looks like the traffic stop sign in a lot

[Bug 69759] Patch for compositing disable hibernate and suspend from logout dialog

2006-11-01 Thread Kim Nguyen
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-session

The following patch :
21_dont_grab_when_composited.patch
uses the LTSP_CLIENT environment variable to prevent gnome-session from
grabbing the XServer at logout.
It seems to be a commodity to reuse the same variable as in
20_dont_fade_on_ltsp_client.patch.
However, when this variable is defined, the suspend and hibernate button
disapear from the ubuntu logout dialog (not from the upstream one) and also
disapear from the right-click menu of gnome-power-manager notification icon.
Using a different variable in 21_dont_grab_when_composited.patch solves the
problem.

Step to reproduce :
add
export LTSP_CLIENT=1
in ~/.gnomerc
log out and log back in.
log out : the power related buttons are not here anymore.

remove this line, log out and log back in, switch to metacity (in order to see
the logout dialog) and logout :
the buttons are back.

package, see if gnome-cups-manager or system-config-printer is the one

Oh, i have seen this since Edgy Eft Beta; just by pluging my digital
photo camera, importing a couple of pics and then turning off the camera
triggers it. To fix, i simply kill the nautilus process and remember
next time when importing pictures not to turn off the camera but wait
whatever timeout exists...

Oh, hmm. Strange, I remember once changing theme, which changed the
size of the menu bar, which caused icons to lose their "perfect" size
at which they were precisely aligned to the pixel. But I only once
did that, so maybe it was fixed or changed since.

[Bug 68798] Re: POP/TLS broken in evolution

2006-11-01 Thread bassslave
I imply the server would support tls, because I always used evolution
with pop/tls to receive the mails. As there was no notice that evolution
uses cleartext instead, there was no reason for me to doubt of the
server supports it.

But after asking the serverprovider, I found out that this is false.

I'm glad evolution does not have such a fallback-mode anymore.

2006-11-01 Thread kevb
I have tried a known working (on dapper) %gconf.xml file.

I have also tried one known to be working on Edgy, apparently.

I still get authentication error.

I have also build from source and modified vino_config.c and commented
line 309 [ g_free (vino_vnc_password); ], and replaced stock vino with
this. Still no luck, even after reboot!

I am connecting through an SSH tunnel if that makes any difference.
TightVNC Viewer (windows) -> putty (5900 -> l:5900) -> vino.

Would appreciate it if anyone has a work-around for the time being or
anything! I need to connect to my machine.
