[Bug 74261] Re: Show Disc Number next to Album (if exists)
Sorry Kristoffer I have to agree with the below. There is no stipulation on how small a feature is but it needs to go to a different team otherwise it will never get added. Please read the below message and send your spec to the link, where the devs can actually receive it and act accordingly. Thanks for your report. Your idea might get more attention and have the possibility of being implemented if you would submit a specification for this. You should first check whether it already exists at the Ubuntu specs page (https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+specs) in Launchpad. If that is the case, feel free to contact the drafter of that spec about your comments/suggestions. Otherwise you can start writing a spec following the steps described in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/FeatureSpecifications. ** Changed in: rhythmbox (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) = davmor2 Status: Unconfirmed = Rejected -- Show Disc Number next to Album (if exists) https://launchpad.net/bugs/74261 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 35217] Re: no indication when login fails due to lack of disk space
I had a user with this same problem. In his case, he filled up the disk by downloading stuff, then the next time he booted the computer GNOME fails to start, just dumps you back at GDM with no explanation. He had an essay to write and had absolutely no idea why his computer had completely stopped working, or what to do about it. Luckily I was on hand to fix it for him. Teaching him to use the text terminal to correct the problem himself in future is not really feasible, too much knowledge needed. This is a serious bug, for normal users it amounts to complete system failure if they are neglectful and let their disk get full. Windows XP keeps working when this happens, btw. ** Changed in: gdm (Ubuntu) Status: Unconfirmed = Confirmed -- no indication when login fails due to lack of disk space https://launchpad.net/bugs/35217 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

I don't seem able to change the priority of this bug. I really don't think it should be set to 'low' though. Hi all, I had one of the problems mentioned here (slow remote login via XDMCP with X/Cygwin, white rectangle in the upper left of the screen, the warning message There was an error starting the GNOME Settings Daemon. Some things, such as themes, sounds, or background settings may not work correctly. The last error message was: Activation of org.gnome.SettingsDaemon timed out GNOME will still try to restart the Settings Daemon next time you log in. then no menus...). After trying several ideas from here and there, I finally solved it, after removing all IPv6 references from my local (ubuntu) hosts file *and* disabling completely the windows firewall (unblocking XCygwin seems not enough). Also see bug 41170. Someone will probably want to mark it as a duplicate of this bug, but I do believe it is actually a bit different. I think the problem that I came across, when reporting 41170, was due to GDM not being able to write to the user's home directory: GDM could not write to your authorization file. This could mean that you are out of disc space or that your home directory could not be opened for writing. In any case, it is not possible to log in. Please contact your administrator.
