[Bug 88514] Re: [Feisty] rhythmbox fails to play a track after a jump to the beginning of the track
Rhythmbox ver. 0.9.8-0ubuntu2. After a deeper investigation it seems to be badly broken. There are problems even in rhythmbox UI. It behaves strangely (both with the panel icon and UI) sometimes it works correctly, sometimes playing the song is resumed after a few seconds and sometimes it doesn't work at all. Running rhythmbox from console didn't reveal any errors but by running it with parameter -d I recorded some suspicious behavior. I enclose to screenshots showing the rhythmbox activity. ** Attachment added: screenshots of console when rhythmbox fails to play a track http://librarian.launchpad.net/6581200/rhythmbox.tar.gz -- [Feisty] rhythmbox fails to play a track after a jump to the beginning of the track https://launchpad.net/bugs/88514 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 88874] Can't edit anything in alacarte
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: alacarte I can't seem to edit anything in alacarte any more. There's no crashing or freezing, no output in the console except /var/lib/python-support/python2.4/gtk-2.0/bonobo/__init__.py: inconsistent use of tabs and spaces in indentation If I try to tick one of the items nothing happens, if I press an arrow to reorder nothing happens. If I try to create a new item the dialog pops and I can enter all values and press ok but there's no change. I used to be able use alacarte, don't know what's changed. The symptoms are similar to bug 66705 but the cause is not the same, my ~/.locals is owned by me. ** Affects: alacarte (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Can't edit anything in alacarte https://launchpad.net/bugs/88874 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 88548] Re: scrolling broken during output
Upstream comment on the bug: The essence of this is that whilst you are looking into the history the output continues into the future (the scrollbar slider moving rapidly upto the top). Once you are looking at a screenful of data that is no longer in the scrollback history then you hit bug 160127. So I believe this should be classified as a dupe of 160127 as the first portion is correct behaviour. Agreed? [Bug 13199] Re: Drag n' Drop directories from File-Roller is somewhat tricky
The comments on that bugs have no real use, complaining will not make the bug fixed faster. We acknowledge that's a problem and should be fixed, the thing is that there is over a thousand desktop bugs open at the moment and few people working on them and we can't work on everything at the same time. The versions are still being updated and feisty is not stable yet and we will fix lot of bugs before that. What would be useful is somebody trying to debug that to help the desktop team which has lot to do already Replacing a program or reverting it to the previous version to avoid fixing a bug is not really constructive behaviour neither. What about trying to fix the bug rather than replacing it by an another program which has got not as much testing. It has dnd working, it might also have bugs than file-roller doesn't have. -- Drag n' Drop directories from File-Roller is somewhat tricky https://launchpad.net/bugs/13199 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 88015] Re: shutdown window freezes everytime
I'm not totally convinced. Yes, Xorg shouldn't freeze in general, but the shutdown dialog does (and is supposed to) take control over the entire display. If that freezes somehow but doesn't crash, Xorg really has no way of knowing. As far as I can tell, X _doesn't_ freeze, it continues to work in the background, but the display it taken up by the unresponsive shutdown dialog. I don't really know how else could X react to this. As far as xorg knows, the app may be some sort of screen lock. I don't know who's responsible for the shutdown window. While I agree that some of the opened affects won't be related, I'm just trying to find them, and I expect gnome-desktop to know something about that shutdown dialog. It's a desktop feature, isn't it?
