[Bug 117902] evolution's composer prints name from contacts in the To: field

2007-05-31 Thread Ketil Malde
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

Yet another wishlist item for evolution!

When I write an email, evolution replaces the email address with the name from
my contacts list if it can be found.
This is undesirable for several reasons:

1. some people have multiple email addresses, and I would like to know
which one I'm currently writing to.

2. my contact list isn't too well maintained (imported some, and some
are snarfed from outgoing mail, I think), and several contacts have no
associated name. Evolution happily replaces the email I typed with a
space and a comma - not helpful.

Thank you for your bug. That's weird. Are you sure the mails are

steps to trigger the bug? Do you move them and clean the source while

deleting random mails we would have other bugs about it already

[Bug 117896] Re: Loses e-mails when moving accross IMAP folders

2007-05-31 Thread Jerome Warnier
Yes, it is fully reproducible, even if random. You cannot move 20 mails
without losing any, and sometimes even moving one at a time leads to
loss.

Maybe the problem is related to Courier IMAP, but other clients on the
same server, and even from the same client do not show this behaviour.
In case you may wonder, the configuration on this IMAP server is pretty
standard (for the version on Debian Etch).

Also, it is not specific to a particuliar computer, the problem shows on
at least 2 or 3 different ones (2 laptops and one workstation, all x86).

How could I help you to pinpoint or even just reproduce this?

[Bug 117922] changing directories becomes increasingly slow, and eventually crashes

2007-05-31 Thread Rui Mesquita
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

Nautilus has a tendency to become very slow over time with usage,
increasing it's memory usage, though not by a whole lot (~28MB to around
100MB). It is very consistent in this, over a couple a days, or less
depending on usage, it can take up to close to 10 seconds on my system
to change directories to one full of thumbnailed videos. Now the
crashes, are not so common, I've only had some 5 or 6 since I started
using feisty on this system some 3 months ago. Unfortunately, I have not
been able to get a crash report, as the crash dialogue has not come up
after any of the crashes.

[Bug 113790] Re: Encrypted USB is owned by root

2007-05-31 Thread yamal
You created a reiserfs filesystem on partition /dev/sdc3, inside an
encryption layer. Since reiserfs supports unix style file permissions, a
normal user might just not have sufficient rights to write to the
filesystem with the default permissions after formatting. Therefore, if
you want the filesystem to be writable by all users and groups, you'll
have to change permissions and/or ownership accordingly (creating
subdirectories on the filesystem in question is not necessary to achieve
this).

Many filesystems commonly used on flash drives (such as various
incarnation of vfat) do not have support for file permission/ownership
themselves. Linux overlays fake permissions on these filesystems, and
(at least on most modern distributions) this is done in favor of regular
users so that you have read and write permissions.

OK, you're right; if I turn "automatic download" on the button DOES

behaviour?

If it is, when it's turned off and only "cancel" and "save as" appear,
these should follow the HIG on button placement.

[Bug 117943] gnome-session should depend on dbus-x11

Public bug reported:

I've upgraded my system from Feisty to Gutsy and installed GNOME at the same
time. Gnome session started, but with an error about gnome-settings-daemon
crashing.
I started that daemon manually from a terminal application, but on next login

As it turned out today, the problem was fixed by installing dbus-x11.

[Bug 117873] Re: gnome-terminal doesn't remember size or location

2007-05-31 Thread Caspar Clemens Mierau
As far as I know, it's not a feature of gnome terminal to automatically
safe location and geometry. If you need a standard geometry please use
its command line options, e.g.:

gnome-terminal --geometry=104x32
gnome-terminal --hide-menubar --geometry=104x32 --disable-factory

You can add more settings to the command line. See documentation for
this.

I will reject this report. If you have somewhere (documenation?) proof
that the feature of automatic saving for this properties exists and
should work, feel free to reopen this bug report at any time.

[Bug 117952] error in importing: "different stream" and "not identified MIME"

2007-05-31 Thread Nicolò Chieffo
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

0.11.0-0ubuntu2, gutsy.

Whenever rhythmbox starts it gives me errors about files that he could not add
to library becasue:
- the stream is of a different type than handled by this element (desktopo.ini
files)
- the MIME type of the file could not be identified (Thumbs.db files)

(I'm using the option "watch my library for new files")

I ask that these messages only appear once, instead of every time I
start rhythmbox. Thank you!

[Bug 117962] [gutsy] Memory warning when spawning a gnome-terminal

You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I'm getting this everytime I run apt-get:

gnome-terminal is a child of the apt-listchanges process.

[Bug 47449] Re: gparted doesn't recognize the partitions it created

2007-05-31 Thread Dalton Miyabara
Last month I have an issue like this, and I resolved that using the
lastest version of Gparted Live CD.

I guess that Gparted in Ubuntu Live CD doesn´t recognize the NTFS
partitions, so try to do this, download from this link (Gparted in
Sourceforge)
"http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=115843&package_id=173828";
(link without the commas) and burn your Gparted Live CD.

Boot from the Gparted Live CD, create the partitions (eg: linux and swap
partitions), apply the changes and reboot.

Now use your Ubuntu Live CD and proceed with the install, and choose
manual for partition, make the changes, format only the Ubuntu
partition.

If this resolve your issue, the Ubuntu team could change the version of
Gparted in Ubuntu Live CD to the latest one.

and bug #113652 (Alacarte still doesn't handle spaces properly) are all

Here are steps to reproduce:

1) Revert
2) Create folder in "Sound&Video"

3) Create item in Sound&Video

[Bug 117984] Weather calendar getting wrong data

2007-05-31 Thread jullman
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

When adding Blythe, California as a weather calendar, the wrong data is

Re: [Bug 117930] Re: cover art: it should be saved not only in the rhythmdb

2007-05-31 Thread Nicolò Chieffo
I don't think it is enough, it should be an option to put them in the
id3v2 tag OR in the mp3 directory.
I'm requesting this since music is shared between multiple OS, and it
is a spare of time+space to store covers in multiple places.
If this is done, it is possible to navigate in windows(microsoft)
through the music folders, viewing the album covers. (and this could
be also implemented by nautilus in the future)

[Bug 44686] Re: Pressing multimedia buttons on laptop with lid closed should not turn on screen

2007-05-31 Thread Edward Steel
I can confirm this with an Apple MacBook and remote control. Closing the
lid initiates DPMS Off, pressing buttons on the remote (mapped to
XF86Media* multimedia keys) causes DPMS on.

I agree it seems to be g-p-m, not gnome-screensaver, that's doing this.
All I could do to mitigate it is to set the time-out for blank screen on
gnome-screensaver to a lower value, doesn't exactly solve the problem
though.

Just a note for the reproduction steps, this is best observed when g-p-m
is not set to lock the screen on lid close.

[Bug 118028] rhythmbos doesn't work

2007-05-31 Thread cherie
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

Last time I used Rhythmbox, it made some problems with playing music, at the
beginning of a song, I usually needed to click somewhere in the line showing at
which part of the song the player is, then the song started.
Some hours later, I booted again and now, Rhythmbox doesn't work at all! I can
visit every pulldown menue, but as soon as I click on one of the buttons,
nothing works anymore. No song can be played and when I want to listen to the
radio, a message pops up: "Wiedergabe konnte nicht gestartet werden - Problem
occurred without error being set. This is a bug in Rhythmbox or GStreamer.".
I did already uninstall Rhythmbox and install it again for several times, but
it doesn't work anymore. As soon as I click on one button, the whole programm
doesn't answer anymore.

Just to update, I have found the correct URL and successfully modified

For reference, the line for Blythe, California needs to read

type="ccf" code="BLH" url="http://www.crh.noaa.gov/data/PSR/CCFPSR";
