[Bug 74454] Re: [network-admin] net-mgr doesn't remember location
I did a bit more investigation of the problem to see if it could be patched. /etc/resolv.conf appears to be the definitive place where the network settings are stored. This file starts with: # generated by NetworkManager, do not edit! I checked the source of gnome-system-tools with: grep -R NetworkManager * and found no instances, so I guess the file must be written by another component, such as dhcp. This is true even when network-admin is used to change the settings. Clearly more investigation is required, but I thought I'd mention this in case anyone else is thinking of developing a patch. (I have found a very satisfactory application-specific workaround, so my motivation is waning.) -- [network-admin] net-mgr doesn't remember location https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/74454 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 44082] Re: GNOME Panel icons (on right side) move apparently randomly on session start in some situations
I would like to confirm this bug. My normal desktop resolution is 1280x1024. When I use my TV-Out I switch to 1024x768. Changing the resolution does not affect the order of the items on my panels immediately. [Bug 86431] Re: nautilus-cd-burner wrongly reports burn failure
Yes I receive a dialog box at the end of the burn saying there were errors try again at a lower speed. The original screenshot attached to this bug by Tan is identical to the error I receive. The md5sum of resulting burned iso matches source and I have no conclusive proof that the burn was indeed bad. In my review of the log files attached makes me suspect the sense key error after sending CUE sheet is the problem. I have another feisty install which I compared logs to that does not have this issue and that was the only resultant difference I observed. It may be worth noting I have a SATA board and using libata which from other bug reports appears to have issues blanking CDRW and other issues. While I was not using or blanking a CDRW it may be another piece in the puzzle. I updated firmware on the Sony DVD RW DRU-810A for grins and it did not remedy the issue. [Bug 120723] windows should raise on click-release not on click
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome Inactive windows should raise on click only after the click is released. Currently they raise on click before the click is released. This is a usability problem. Use case: A nautilus window containing a file to be copied/moved is open. A second, active, nautilus window containing the destination folder is open and partially overlapping the first. If you click and drag the file from the inactive source window, it shouldn't raise to obscure the foreground target window. With the current behavior, the user must make sure to drag the source and destination windows apart so they are not overlapping in order to ensure the destination will not become obscured by source. The intent of a click cannot (click and drag vs single click to raise) is ambiguous until the click is released. The current behavior assumes any click in an inactive window is intended to raise the window. By way of comparison, both Windows and OS X exhibit the raise on click and release behavior. ** Affects: meta-gnome2 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- windows should raise on click-release not on click https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/120723 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for meta-gnome2 in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

This bug looks very similar to Bug #97557 which was marked as a duplicate of bug #82335 , which was reported fixed for Feisty release. However, the bug is still present on my system, so it hasn't been fixed. There seems to be no features for reopening bugs, so I'm reporting this as a new bug. ** Affects: evolution (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Evolution doesn't remember online/offline mode in Feisty https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/120728 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for evolution in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 85547] Re: update: sound recorder does not playback audio until saved
I too believed that the problem lied with my mic, but i then realized the problem actually lies with the sound recorded in Gnome. The problem is simple: you can't play back the audio stream unless it's saved first, actually you can click the play button but you'll get silence in return. I guess a lot of people have stumbled upon this issue and reported their mic doesn't work. What's even more annoying is that choosing save instead of save as leads to a invalid parameters error. -- update: sound recorder does not playback audio until saved https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/85547 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for gnome-media in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
