[Bug 131212] Re: [gutsy] opera slow down/crash when browsing a page with flash (non-free) content

2007-09-03 Thread csulok
I can confirm this. When Ubufox installs the flashplugin-nonfree, it
downloads a new package from the Adobe ftp, that seems to restore the
previous state of the plugin in Opera. (The previous state being that
the flash plugin crashes when closing or changing tabs, however it works
without freezing any part of Opera).

May I suggest a new build of flashplugin-nonfree to be issued so this
new archive from the Adobe ftp arrives to all who may be affected by it?

If you mean before hald is killed (when I can't see the CD icon on the

After I kill / restart hald, when I insert the CD, Nautilus open its window so

checked, but I don't see why I couldn't).
I'll confirm this as soon as possible.

2007-09-03 Thread wraithmonk
I have a very similar problem to dafrabbit on 2007-08-25. I'm using
Ubuntu 7.10 Alternative Tribe 5.

1. GDM ready sound is not playing. As he suggested,
System-Administration-Login Window-Accessibility and choosing a
sound (question.wav) results in it working.

2. System login/logout sounds are not playing, though checking and
playing them from the System-Preferences-Sound-System Sounds dialog
box works fineso the sound card is detected working.

3. The system sounds aren't working, but again playing them from the
System-Preferences-Sound-System Sounds dialog box, they work fine.

[Bug 137041] volume is set to zero when changed in fullscreen mode

2007-09-03 Thread SebastienBarthelemy
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: totem

Hello

I have a small problem using totem in Ubuntu Gutsy.
I use totem-gstreamer version 2.19.90-0ubuntu3.

When you click the volume button in window mode, a slider appears, with
the cursor position set according to the current volume level. It's ok.

In fullscreen mode, when you click the volume button, _the volume is set to
zero_ and the slider appears, with the cursor at the bottom of the slider (this
is consistent, as the volume level is now zero. But why is this happening ?)
You can then move the cursor to the position you want.

[Bug 136837] Re: Mixer applet randomly decides to consider my SoundBlaster Live 5.1 to be muted when changing volume

2007-09-03 Thread Alex Jones
How do you change the volume? Using the slider? With the mouse scroll
button?

Both.

Is the sound really muted or is only the icon wrong?

The sound isn't muted, but both the icon AND the tooltip text say
muted.

Does it do the same if you change the volume in the mixer dialog?

No.

Just to clarify, this only seems to be happening with my SB Live
(emu10k1 ALSA).

[Bug 134984] Re: font overlapping/not enough spacing with application groups

2007-09-03 Thread xtknight
I would suggest that when application groups are enabled, the maximum
length for the caption of a taskbar item be one character shorter. I
also suggest that the original icon be used. This way, the original
icon along with the shortened application title would allow a better
appearance. If the application title has to be expanded, the ellipsis
should also not overlap the icon. Either the app title should be one
character shorter, or a few pixels shorter.

[Bug 137046] Message threading has bug with unrelated e-mails with same subject

2007-09-03 Thread Andrew J. Montalenti
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

I have three messages in my folder: messages 1, 2 and 3.

Message 1 has the subject Tomorrow and was sent to me and another
person.

Message 2 is a reply, with subject Re: Tomorrow and was also sent to
me and the original sender.

Message 3 is an e-mail written 5 months ago, also with the subject Re:
Tomorrow, also written to me, but the sender is not one of the senders
in Messages 1 or 2. Yet, Message 3 gets threaded with Messages 1 and 2.

I am attaching the messages which cause this behavior for me in a tar.gz
file. Clearly the threading code is broken for some edge case caused by
these messages.

Please tell me what to do, I'm having this issue for weeks :(

2007/9/3, Sebastien Bacher [EMAIL PROTECTED]:

The log shows that Ubuntu has libfaad2-0 2.0.0+cvs20040908+mp4v2+bmp-
0ubuntu5 and that you installed 2.0.0+cvs20060416-0.0 from somewhere,
that's not an Ubuntu bug, you should not install packages from random
websites if you want to avoid breakages like this one

[Bug 136834] Re: ctr-y does not work

2007-09-03 Thread lariamat
Hello
I found out that this error occurs only when the view is set to 'group as
threads' (Ctr-T).

I'm using the same server (pop.gmx.net).
There is no difference in using the menu or the keyboard shortcut.
The error can easily be reproduced with an uread mail folder as described above.

[Bug 136660] Re: Patch to improve shaping and border rendering in uncomposited environment; add RGBA support for composited

2007-09-03 Thread Alex Jones
The actual changes I did aren't as big as the patch. The patch is a
patch on a patch... if that makes sense. :)

[Bug 135484] Re: Failed to execute child process -x (No such file or directory)

2007-09-03 Thread Alexey Balmashnov
Found a problem.

There is an inconsistency in handling settings for preferred terminal if
one enables/disables 3D desktop (at least via System-Preferences-
Appearance).

Steps to reproduce:
1. Disable settings for terminal without 3D. Disable settings for terminal with
3D (let's say put custom, without a command in both cases)
2. Enable your favorite terminal while 3D desktop is off.
3. Enable 3D desktop. I get here still Custom option without a command.
4. Disable 3D desktop. Now I get the same, Custom option without a command in
my desktop without 3D.

It looks like option made active while 3D desktop was turned on
propagates back to a normal desktop settings, while it does not work
other way.
