[Bug 107969] Re: Please add a graphic equalizer in rhythmbox
+1 from me too! I was using Rhythmbox quite happily with my PC speakers until I had to switch to using earphones. The earphones push out much less low- frequency than the speakers - the resulting sound quality just isn't good enough. I really tried to find a solution - the Rhythmbox developers on the mailing lists seem to reject a Rhythmbox-specific equalizer in favour of a system-wide equalizer. Unfortunately I couldn't find either. In the meantime I'm having to use XMMS - its inbuilt equalizer/amplifier does the job perfectly. -- Please add a graphic equalizer in rhythmbox https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/107969 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 132612] Re: memory leak in evince?
I am also experiencing a very bad regression in gutsy with respect to memory usage in evince. Evince has always used a lot of memory, but it seems much, much worse in Gutsy. For example, this document: http://www.stanford.edu/class/cs242/readings/backus.pdf causes evince to use hundreds of megabytes of memory. While I'm reading the document, the memory usage keeps going up until I run out of memory and start swapping. With this particular document I can go from a freshly booted system with no other applications running (< 200 MB of RAM) to a state where the system is swapping within a few minutes (I have 512 MB of RAM). I'm using the intel video card driver (the modesetting one called "intel", not "i810"), so it seems unlikely that this is a video card issue given that I and the original bug reporter have two totally different video cards. Is there some option in the deb that has been turned on since Feisty that could cause this (e.g. I know cairo support has been enabled/disabled many times)? [Bug 145418] gnome panel icons don't show up
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-panel Reproducible on two new user setups on my laptop. I drag the "terminal" and "my computer" icons from the gnome menus on the desktop. Then, I drag them next to the firefox/evolution/help icons on the gnome panel. They stick there. Then I log out, and I relogin as these users. The new icons are not visible! RE - ViEVO not appearing on Ubuntu 704 linux. Thanks Jamie, all good ! I tried a fresh user account and it worked. So I blew away the .Koala directory on my account and re installed. And that worked. I found I could reproduce a version of the problem by choosing V4L rather than V4L2 driver in ViEVO's config. Difference is that now the ViEVO window appears so I can set V4L2. Its all good ! [Bug 145400] gedit consumes 100% processor with paragraphs > 10 lines.
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gedit There is a problem with gedit (or maybe even the gtksourcebuffer widget) when editing long lines with syntax highlighting. Ive seen bug #134352, and it seems to be similar to what I am reporting here, but I am creating a new bug report since in the original report the problem seems to be minor since only long one-liner html files seem to be the issue. However, this bug appears even when doing a short document (for example your homework) on Latex, and writing a small paragraph (less than 10 lines) without using line breaks. To reproduce, create a new latex file and open it in gedit, make sure gedit correctly detects it as latex file and it is doing syntax highlighting on it. Now start typing gibberish (ie. asdf asdf asdf asdf asdfasdf asdf), as your paragraph continues and the buffer starts to break your line into several lines, you will notice how the processor consumption will start going up, by the time you reach 10 break lines or so (at least on my machine) the processor will reach 100% usage. I think this bug is pretty serious, since having a 10line paragraph seems a pretty common use case for a text editor. ** Affects: gedit (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- gedit consumes 100% processor with paragraphs > 10 lines. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/145400 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for gedit in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 145395] a wish for easy installation of fonts by using "font book"
Public bug reported: If one wants to add a font to gnome... it's ridiculously hard at the moment! You could try system --> settings --> appearance --> fonts --> advanced --> goto font folder. This is not what normal user would expect! ever! well i didn't. Searching forums gave finally the answer: just type fonts:// to nautilus! What? really? developers?? Ok, it's at least a expected place, but no one could ever try that on first time. So I really, really wish for font book or my fonts app to control panel, and thus ability to install system wide or user fonts (which according to forums is possible). Application should also check for crc:s in ttf, as sometimes those occur in downloaded fonts. [Bug 141390] Re: CPU 60% and High Temperatures playing large MP3s
Well, the issue has recurred today. I had been using it without Cross- fader. Before a PC restart I re-enabled Cross-fader in Rhythmbox. After the restart Rhythmbox is back to using a large amount of CPU and pushing the temperatures up. I tried disabling the plug-ins, one- at-a-time, but with them all now disabled the issue continues. So it looks like your earlier question about the Cross-fader was on the money. [Bug 145183] Re: evolution crashed with SIGSEGV in folder_changed()
Thanks for your bug report. Please try to obtain a backtrace http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash and attach the file to the bug report. [Bug 145157] No system sounds
You have been subscribed to a public bug: New install from daily build 25-Sep-2007. In System>Preferences>Sound>Sounds "Play system sounds" is checked. For Log out and Login the Logout and Login sounds are selected and they also work when I press play. However they don't play when logging in or out. Please let me know if you need more information. [Bug 145166] Re: Rhythmbox Crashes with Sansa e260
Unfortunately I was not able to obtain a backtrace. When I ran it with GDB it actually didn't crash that time. I'll try it again though when I get a chance this week as it seems that only my office computer is having the problem. My PC at home works no problem which is weird. Both are running Gutsy and both are up to date and both my desktop configurations are virtually identical. -- Rhythmbox Crashes with Sansa e260 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/145166 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 133124] Re: MASTER [GUTSY] firefox crashed [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] from libcairo
Just a note to verify other results. I am having what appears to be the same issue on a AMD64 with NVIDIA GeForce 7025 Video. When I was running firefox from the console (which uses the NVIDIA drivers I downloaded from NVIDIA), firefox ran fine. When I ran firefox while using vnc (which was using the open source driver), it seg faulted on start. Changing the theme to "clearlooks" stops the seg fault. -- MASTER [GUTSY] firefox crashed [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] from libcairo https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/133124 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for libcairo in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 144110] Re: totem -stuttering/bad performance with mp4 video
Yes, the problem is the same when launching manually. A good example video can be downloaded (via bittorrent) from this url: http://www.anime-kraze.org/torrent/%5BA-Kraze%5D_Seirei_no_Moribito_-_23_%5B75667171%5D.mkv.torrent Launch the mkv file and you should encounter stuttering playback/short drops in framerate after 10-15 seconds of playback. When watching carefully (and ignoring the silly soundtrack) you should also see greenish screen glitches to the left border of the playback window (ca. 1:17 playback). This problem is not limited to this file, I encounter it when playing any file with mp4 codec. -- totem -stuttering/bad performance with mp4 video https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/144110 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
