The gdb log seems to indicate that the program exited normally and didn't hang or crash. Could people having the issue try with an another user? Does moving .themes somewhere else makes it work correctly? That might be due to theme installed there. I think the behavior of taking 6% as 6/100 is correct to keep things simple, when you do not give a % of something, it is interpreted as % of 1. This is the reason for 1360 - 6% giving the answer of 1359.94. The argument can be that the calculator must apply the % of the number before it, i.e. 1360. But this can become a bit tricky when it is a part of a complex calculation like 150 + 240 - 10% + 300 - 10%. So, as per the bug the expected behavior is.. 150 + 240 + 10% of (150 + 240) + 300 - 10% of (150 + 240 + 10% of (150 + 240) + 300). This shows that how tricky it might become that the calculator needs to be extra intelligent. That's not really a bug of the panel or the theme. The gnome-panel expects 22x22 icons nowadays or the Human icons are still 24x24 so it does some scaling. The way to wokraorund that is to have the GTK theme specify that the panel should use 24x24 icons, ubuntulooks does that. It has the side effect to create blurry icons if you use an 22x22 icon theme though. I have been running Gutsy's evolution for about 3 weeks, and have not seen this problem anymore. It used to happen at least daily on dapper. This is the same machine and email that had the problems before. Upgraded to from dapper, to edgy, to feisty to gutsy. Now it works fine. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus I am using gutsy. I have four image files on my desktop (jpeg and png). Sometimes Nautilus shows these as thumbnails, as it should. Sometimes they revert to the icon which usually means "thumbnail generation in progress" -- i.e. a document icon with an orange "timer" in the bottom corner. If I do not click on the icon, the thumbnail will not return: the icons remain as the "in progress" icons indefinitely. In standard Nautilus folder windows, this is not a problem: although fetching the thumbnails is sometimes slow, they always arrive. The problem seems to be specific to the display of the desktop.
