[Bug 236241] [NEW] PDF image fractures when scrolled
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evince With the scale set to 200% (and others above 100%) the image fractures as the scroll bar is used to move the image. The image recovers when it is minimized and then maximized. The image I saw this on is a public PDF document (http://www.vta.org/schedules/VTA_Bike_Map.pdf). The problem also resolves if you change the focus to another window (I discovered this when I tried to take a screenshot of the problem). [Bug 15442] Re: panels change their position between logins
Hint: In Debian Lenny it just happens the first time you reposition both panels on bottom (this always happened to me with past versions of Gnome). Nevertheless, if you delete the panel you desire to be on top, create a new identical one, and reposition them as you want, this preference is preserved across logins. That is, you have the same behaviour as in previous versions of Gnome (including Ubuntu 7.10). Not perfect, but bearable. Attached is a screenshot with desired results. [Bug 177660] Re: rhythmbox crashed with SIGSEGV in rb_ipod_db_set_ipod_name()
This fix stops rhythmbox crashing on startup for me, but I now cannot transfer files. [Bug 233918] Re: [vinagre] Keybinding changes don't persist across sessions
I disagree for three reasons: 1) The GUI offers the option to be able to redefine keys. As long as the option is there, it's a bug for it to not work. 2) Redefining keys is a standard part of GTK (or Gnome--I'm not sure which). It's a handy feature that works everywhere else I've tried it. I know that Gnome delights in removing useful features in the name of simplification, but doing so is a Bad Thing. 3) I don't see how it's possible to design a full-featured VNC client without at least one keyboard shortcut. Once you switch to fullscreen, you have to have some way to get back out. Adding a button to switch back to normal mode would either potentially get in the way or require a VNC toolbar or something, which would break the fullscreen. Vncviewer handled this situation well. If you hit F8, it would pop up a menu. One of the items on that menu was one to send F8 to the remote machine. (There are many thing that vncviewer does wrong, but this isn't one of them.) -- [vinagre] Keybinding changes don't persist across sessions https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/233918 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to vinagre in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 147883] Re: Songs that have a space in their path are not imported automatically from watched music folders
I can confirm that updating to the version in hardy-proposed did not fix the problem. After installing and running the update, I still got the import errors on a fresh install of Hardy where I had already run Rhythmbox and set the music folder. The gconf key "/apps/rhythmbox/library_locations" was still set to "/home/username/music". After manually selecting the folder it updates the key to "file:///home/username/Music". Either the install process needs to update this key or the app needs to check if the key is incorrect. -- Songs that have a space in their path are not imported automatically from watched music folders https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/147883 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 132612] Re: memory leak in evince?
I can confirm this bug in Hardy Heron x86_64. A small scanned file quickly uses over 400MB of memory. Also, Evince does not free up all the memory when I close the offending document. Case: (All listed memoryusage is only for the evince-process) I open two non-scanned mostly text documents and browse through them. Memoryusage: 44 MB. I open a scanned purely image document, 8 pages 2.5 MB file: Memoryusage before browsing: 257MB. Memoryusage after browsing through the document: 373MB Memoryusage after closing the scanned document, keeping the other two up: 177MB Opening a new scanned document and browse it: 512 MB Closing this again, still keeping the two text-documents up: 379 MB. [Bug 236147] Re: Doesn't display total
Okay, sorry, thought I said it more clearly. I've taken a screen shot as requested, both of the calculator and of the spreadsheet I've working from. THe problem I was trying to describe is that in totaling all those little sums in the column marked "Net profit" I get a string of number looking something like this "675+398+254+318+146+268+352+555..." When I hit the enter button to get my total, it then doesn't appear on the calculators screen at all. However, should I then just hit any of the keys as if to do another further calculation, the total I was expecting to see on the screen suddenly appears. For example, the numbers I've listed above give me a total of 2966, yet that total doesn't appear on the screen, if I then just hit the "+" key again the "answer" appears as 2966+ Hope this helps some. It's not a major bug, just more of an annoyance. The screenshot is attached. [Bug 200337] Re: CD/DVD burning problem in hardy SOLVED --- BURN AT 2X
This problem is resolved for me. I'm not entirely sure how it came about but it is reminiscent of the old SCSI representation issues I used to see in Debian. After a set of updates the device (previously at /dev/hdb ) failed entirely when trying to burn DVD or CD material. But when I put in a video DVD I noticed that the device now comes up as /dev/scd0 . I re-targeted my scripts to /dev/scd0 and everything works fine. It used to be the case that you had to have SCSI emulation on a CD burner for cdrecord to work with it. This required a boot option in the lilo.conf like: append="hdb=ide-scsi max_scsi_luns=1" As of the 2.6 kernel this was no longer entirely necessary to burn a CD, but often cdrecord would still give you trouble unless you did the scsi emulation. What's odd to me here is that I have no scsi emulation in my boot options, the ide-scsi module is not loaded, whereas the scsi_mod is, and this device, which I'm certain is hooked up to an IDE cable is showing up as /dev/scd0 . I personally made no changes, just did the updates and rebooted when the update manager said I needed to. I'm pleased that the issue is resolved, but I'm a little disturbed that Linux, which I thought I understood well, has now become slightly more occult. I have an ide device showing up as scd0 and really no idea how it got that way. I haven't looked at it under Debian, but I believe the device is still /dev/hdb under that system.
