An auto archive function in Evolution would be great. M$ Outlook provides this feature since many versions. Meanwhile, I have written a script that will recursively archive old mails and retain your evolution folder structure in archive (unlimited levels of sub-folders under your Inbox are supported). The script depends on the archivemail package - so ensure that you have this package installed. By default, it archives all mail older than 365 days into an archives sub-folder under the user's home folder (but these can be easily changed if you are familiar with shell scripting) Each time you run the script, it will create a date-wise folder under the archives folder. Your archived evolution structure is kept here. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution Got one major issue which is hampering my move over to Ubuntu (well one of) I've set up evolution to connect to my exchange server and it retrieves my mail but if I switch to my windows box or if evolution does an upgrade, any mail inbetween does not get downloaded by evolution. For example, I was working all last week with evolution and was working fine (except my historical mail in my inbox wasn't being downloaded but I was OK at that point). I had to change to windows for some stuff that I couldn't do on Ubuntu yet. Today I've started back on Ubuntu and my evolution had to update. Now when I started evolution again, all my mail from last week that I was working on is gone except for 2 messages and it's not showing any new messages except for those that have come in since I started evolution. When I user OWA to access my mailbox there are over 50 emails that are new and these are not being downloaded. Any ideas? You have been subscribed to a public bug: The name of a deleted user continues to be available (selectable) in the Login Window Preferences | Security tab, in the drop-down menu associated with Enable automatic Login. This only happens when the user that is deleted is remains selected for automatic login. The deleted user cannot authenticate to the computer via this defect, so I do not detect any security risk to the computer. Defect tested and duplicated in: Ubuntu 7.04 (Feisty Fawn) Ubuntu 7.10 pre-release (Gutsy Gabon) Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create a new user (using default settings) 1b. System (menu) Administration Users and Groups 1c. Select the button named, Add User 1d. Add a username, a real name and a password and click the OK button. For example, create a user named tester 1e. Close the User Settings window 2. Enable Automatic Login 2b. System (menu) Administration Login Window 2c. Go to the tab named, Security 2d. Check the box next to Enable Automatic Login 2e. Hey Yeah sorry for my really bad bug report. Thinking of contributing to rythmbox soon to add a new feature to refresh music info. But basically i find with rythmbox, when you add songs to your library rythmbox updates it which is good, but i took music out of the library and rythmbox doesnt update this change properly, and also i converted an album from mp3 to ogg and it doesnt update correctly either and there seems to be no refresh function from what i can see to update the music info held with rythmbox. I will endavour to work on rythmbox in the future but i am tied up in a project called libjpod a port of the gtkpod library to java for media players like atunes or jajuk etc. Thanks for getting in touch with me about this bug.
