[Bug 249400] Re: evince automatically interpolates embedded PostScript and PDF images
At bug 199916, this is also shown to be true for the 'Interpolate' flag for images in PDF files. Marked the older bug a dupe since this one had already been triaged. Also added upstream bug. This has been reported to evince since Feb 2006, ( http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=331781 ) and to Poppler since Feb 2007. [Bug 257474] [NEW] Adding export extension disables "Export to" menu item
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: f-spot Today I installed the Facebook export extension. I didn't get any error when I did this, but when I went to export photos I found that the "Export To" menu item in F-Spot was disabled (grayed out). I have tried disabling and reenabling the Facebook extension, uninstalling the same, disabling and reenabling all of the other extensions, a "complete removal" of F-Spot in Synaptic, and a "complete removal" in Synaptic combined with deleting the .gnome2/f-spot and .gconf/apps/f-spot directories. None of these has brought back my export option. The only interesting piece of debugging information I've seen so far is that when I delete the subfolder of .gconf and run F-Spot I see this: WARNING: The add-in 'FSpot.__DefaultExporters,1.6' is trying to extend '/FSpot/Menus/Exports', but there isn't any compatible add-in defining this extension point This seems somewhat similar to this bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/f-spot/+bug/184062 but I've been using F-Spot with Hardy for some time now. Also, I have regularly exported to both Flickr and Gallery with no problems. Nonetheless, I tried this bit: mautil -v --registry ~/.gnome2/f-spot reg-build but that didn't help either. I don't really need the Facebook extension, but I would like to get back the ability to export to Gallery and/or Flickr. [Bug 107974] Re: Evolution will not remember exchange password
I had some strange items listed in seahorse such as this, 204.26.234.200trexchange where it seemed to be referencing both the ip address and the domain name. So I delete all references to this from seahorse and the changed my OWA back to the IP address in the exchange account that I had setup. Then my account would not work at all. It kept asking for my password but never connecting at all. So I tried to go back to the server name, trexchange, that worked before and it still would not connect. I had to delete the account and recreate it using the server name and then it worked. There still seems to be some sort of Evolution issue if you can't change your server name and end up having to delete the account to fix it. So I went back again deleted the account that worked and set it up again using the IP address. Now it seems to be working fine. I looked in Seahorse the reference to the server is correct and only has the IP address. I will continue to use it and report back if I have any issues. This is very strange. Thank you for the information. I cannot recall exactly how I entered the original contacts. You have been subscribed to a public bug: Binary package hint: xorg Hi, when I log into Gnome, I get that "Your last session lasted only 10 seconds" message, and as soon as I click ok, xorg crashes along with some display errors and restarts. I've tried disabling compiz, deleting ~/.config/autostart and ~/.gnome2/session, but none of these helped. The failsafe session doesn't work either. It shows me some error connecting to a varying dbus socket and then crashes, but I think this is only a symptom. I've attached a tarball containing my Xorg.0.log, Xorg.0.log.old and .xsession-errors I'm using an up-to-date version of Intrepid. Package versions: xserver-xorg 1:7.4~0ubuntu2 gnome-session 2.23.6-0ubuntu1 /edit: By deleting some files and reinstalling some packages, I have somehow managed to get the failsafe mode working. [Bug 243769] Re: Hebrew text is broken on gtk text messeges
OK - somehow screenshot 1 is accessible to me. Yup, that is the same bug I'm referring to, and it is unrelated to the gnome bug linked to this one. As I said this one is about text being chopped off user interfaces (like in your screenshot and mine). The GNOME bug is about preventing interfaces from going RTL if no translations exist. The GNOME one has apparently been solved. But this one has not, and it is pretty serious, as you've just noticed with a lot of other users. -- Hebrew text is broken on gtk text messeges https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/243769 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gtk+2.0 in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. [Bug 241274] Re: Evolution contacts missing in new or forward emails
I've just tested this in with a clean installation running in a VM. The steps to recreate the problem are as follows, setup pidgin since this appears to be what evolution is using to "automatically" install the contacts . Then in evolution Edit -> Preferences -> "Mail Preferences" -> "Automatic Contacts" then click on "Synchronize with buddy list now". Now the contacts list is populated with all my contacts in this case MSN contacts. So, if I then click on "New" (email) and in the new blank email click on "To:" to select a contact to email the "contacts" box in this dialog is empty even though my contacts appear when on the "contact view". As I posted earlier in this thread it appears that the Snyc plugin isn't populating the correct fields. -- Evolution contacts missing in new or forward emails https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/241274 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Hi! Last week I overwrited my Desktop with a file. I can't reproduce it, but these were the steps: - in opera chose to download a file - in the save file dialog, I used the keyboard to navigate to Desktop folder - after some letter, I quickly hit enter - the file overwrited my Dektop dir It was so quick, so I didn't see anything, looked only the keyboard. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. This bug did not have a package associated with it, which is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. You can learn more about finding the right package at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage . I have classified this bug as a bug in gdm. [Bug 257062] [NEW] ubuntu freezes after login when login in not initiated within 5 minutes.
You have been subscribed to a public bug: I am a new ubuntu user, long time windows user. So please bare with me. I can get information when needed, as long as i am told how to get it. OK, so here is what happens: On both my laptop and desktop, if i load ubuntu on my dual boot setup with windows xp, it loads correctly, but if i do not log in within 5 minutes, and then i go to log in, it looks like it is logging in fine, but then it freezes completely. I have to turn off the computer and then back on. Like i said, as long as i log in before roughly 5 minutes, there is no problem. But if i wait more then that and try to log in, it freezes completely. I am using the latest ubuntu, and my log in screen (under the local tab in setup login screen) is human list. ubuntu default welcome theme with face. You click your name and then type your password and that's how you log in. I do not know if i named the welcome screen i am using on both machines correctly but yeah.i tried...I feel dumb but i know this has to be a bug, because it freezes the system completely. As long as someone can tell me how to get the information that you need, i can get it for you. It loads completely fine as long as i do not wait. No problems at all if its before 5 minutes. Firestarter the firewall is the only program set to auto start up. Nothing else. Thanks, and I appreciate your patience with me. ** Affects: gdm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- ubuntu freezes after login when login in not initiated within 5 minutes. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/257062 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gdm in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a ".crash" file. Please follow these instuctions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer. If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart. If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit. I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently.
