[Bug 269471] Re: Rhythmbox cannot handle a certain podcast URL
Ross, what feeds are you attempting to use. The reported URLs above were all from the abc.net.au podcasts feeds - I've looked through their feeds and they are, to varying degrees, non conforming to the standards for feeds. I think this may be the problem. I've reported the problem to the ABC and they don't seem very much to care. If you are trying ABC feeds, you might want to add a complaint, if it's not the ABC, put the feed through http://feedvalidator.org/check.cgi and check whether it's the feed or rhythmbox. (I'm using the same version as you and most feeds work). -- Rhythmbox cannot handle a certain podcast URL https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/269471 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

One more thing, since this problem started yesterday, every reboot is immediately followed by an Update Information pop-up saying The language support files for your selected language seem to be incomplete. [Bug 346244] [NEW] Mute button on Thinkpad does never unmute, the volume notification thinks otherwise
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-volume-manager I have a Thinkpad R52. It that has three buttons to control the volume: down, up and mute. The buttons are partially implemented in hardware. Pressing the mute button multiple times never unmutes the volume. However, the state shown by the volume notification toggles between muted and unmuted. The actual volume however stays muted. Expected behavior: Pressing the mute button multiple times should result in either a) the notification not toggling between muted and unmuted (leaving the audible behavior like it is now) or should b) actually unmute the volume, not just display it unmuted I am using Jaunty, last updated a few minutes before writing this. [Bug 345946] Re: Rythmbox freezes when using the search bar
Thank you, Pedro! I am an absolute beginner in linux. What is atk? I was able to install with aptitude the dbgsym packages, except the following three: libgail-common-dbgsym, libgail18-dbgsym: I cannot find these packages, libgtk2.0-0-dbgsym: warning because of dependencies with libgtk2.0-0 (2.14-4-0ubuntu2) which is unavailable. Yes, the problem is now more serious because it's impossible to open the brasero manual at all with yelp at ghelp:brasero. [Bug 345863] Re: intrepid: cannot type non-ASCII characters in Esperanto locale using xim
OK, now that you made me test some more, I noticed the same happens in other apps, too: Nautilus (only in the address bar, not when renaming files), generic Open/Save As dialogs, Tomboy, GRAMPS ... So I suppose you are right and this is a gtk bug. Before that I’d had no problems in OOo, firefox, gnome-terminal, evolution. Shortly after upgrading to Intrepid, noticing that I could not use gedit properly, and filing the bug, I changed my default input method to scim. But it can be tested regardless: Start the application with LANG=eo.UTF-8, right-click in the text area, set the input method to X Input Method, and type anything on your keyboard that is not Ascii, e.g. umlauts or any of the standard third level chooser combinations. I’m not sure the locale eo.UTF-8 exists as of default in intrepid, on hardy I had to create it (see this bug: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/langpack-locales/+bug/23435) by sudo localedef -f UTF-8 -i eo eo.UTF-8 You might have to do that to reproduce the bug. -- intrepid: cannot type non-ASCII characters in Esperanto locale using xim https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/345863 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 289939] Re: Gedit encoding autodetection fails on all cp1250 files
I have looked at it this bug and tried to change that gconf key. Then I tried to place WINDOWS-1250 at the top of the list and then it starts to work correctly with double-clicking windows-1250-encoded files. But at the same time gedit's stops to recognize UTF-8 files!! I tried to move WINDOWS-1250 item after UTF-8 one, so UTF-8 would have higher priority, but still no succes: my auto_detected list is: UTF-8 WINDOWS-1250 CURRENT ISO-8859-15 UTF-16 and it surprisingly cannot detect utf-8-encoded files. [Bug 342855] Re: [Jaunty] Rhythmbox status displays above wrong panel
OK, attached - just below the rhythmbox window you can see the Rhythmbox status tooltip hovering over the panel at the bottom of my top monitor. Scroll right down to the bottom of the image and you can see my bottom panel on my bottom monitor with the notification icon and you just see my mouse pointer hovering over the rhythmbox icon which is where I'd expect the tool tip to appear. I should say this doesn't always happen - probably about 50/50 - but it seems to get into 'moods' where it will appear mostly in the right place or mostly in the wrong place and it's not obvious what switches it between the two, I don't seem to have to do anything for it to switch - just moving the mouse around between the monitors and hovering back over the icon often does it. [Bug 346132] Re: Desktop drag-and-drop unreliable
It is reproducible but its occurrence is seemingly random. I have not found a trigger for it. When it happens there is no mistaking it: It's obvious it isn't me just missing the folder. It happens with all sorts of folders going to different files and the only way around it is to cut and paste. Unfortuneately, I can't offer steps to recreate the bug because I have not as of yet found the trigger... I know that leaves the devs in a bind... Is there anything I can do if I observe the problem to give you the information you might need? By the way, I'll just put in that I've been noticing this since Alpha 5 and it did not occur in Intrepid. -- Desktop drag-and-drop unreliable https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/346132 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 345189] Re: Change to 13.333px is a regression for me - fonts far too large
Typo. That should have been FONT_SIZE_IN_PT = FACTOR_X * (RESOLUTION_X / DPI_X) * 72 FONT_SIZE_IN_PT = FACTOR_Y * (RESOLUTION_Y / DPI_Y) * 72 The factors above are correct though. -- Change to 13.333px is a regression for me - fonts far too large https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/345189 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-terminal in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 240158] Re: Missing attachment icons
Will this also be fixed for Hardy (LTS) or at least made available in Hardy Backports? We have several systems running on Hardy and wouldn't want to upgrade them to Jaunty, losing out on LTS for the sake of one or two bugs that immediately affect us. What is suggested?
