[Bug 383856] [NEW] GNOME Terminal locked up Ubuntu 9.04 when checking out at a subversion server, and changing keyboard shortcuts.
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-terminal To further explained what happened, I was checking out on a subversion server. While it was downloading, I went to change some keyboard shortcuts. Next thing I know, everything suddenly became unresponsive. Mouse didn't move, keyboard didn't respond, nothing.. caps lock and num lock LEDs didn't come on as they should. I waited a few minutes to see if it was lag, but I don't think it was. I can summarize what I did in three steps. 1. Open GNOME Terminal 2. Type in "svn co svn://svn.openwrt.org/openwrt/packages/" 3. Hit the "Edit" menu, and then click on "Keyboard Shortcuts". [the loading animation spins around and around and around ...] Even if I close nautilus and open the folder again it's the same: endless loading an some files are missing. no filesystem bug: other filebrowsers work well (i've tested e.g. with konqueror and it shows everything that's in the folder and everything is quite normal) also in xterm "ls" shows all files and they are normally accessable my silly solution: I use e.g. konqueror: I create an empty folder in the for-nautilus-problematic-folder and move the problematic-files (that are not displayed in nautilus) into it. AND then in nautilus everything(!) works fine: no endless loading end the files (that were missing before) are displayed in the "new folder". info: -I think it does not matter what filetype the missing files are. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems. http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures At a minimum, we need: 1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem, 2. the behavior you expected, and 3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
