[Bug 407596] [NEW] epiphany-browser: mnemonic/accelerator shows as underscore instead of underline, and does not register with keyboard
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: epiphany-browser This happens in several applications. On Karmic, I'm seeing buttons that have an underscore instead of an underline for the accelerator key. It's more obvious what I'm talking about by looking at the screenshot I posted. It happens only on certain buttons, but on those certain buttons it happens consistently. I don't know why. And the accelerator is actually broken on the keyboard when this happens, as well. Underlined accelerators work fine, but underscored accelerators are not even registered on the keyboard. ** Affects: epiphany-browser (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- epiphany-browser: mnemonic/accelerator shows as underscore instead of underline, and does not register with keyboard https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/407596 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to epiphany-browser in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 406195] Re: gnome-settings-daemon should not be dependant of pulseaudio
I am not agree with you. I cannot do a dist-upgrade without pulseaudio pacakge to be installed in addition. The only way to do it now is to fixed the gnome-settings-daemon. I don't know exactly what is inside it but perhaps that will be a good idea to separate the different component and put pulseaudio stuff in a specific package. I know that I not the only one who doesn't want to have pulseaudio. For me the reason is really simple: skype (my wife and my son are at 6000 km and it's the only software really working for VOIP). Don't give me a link to configure it it's not working on my computer I already try or I have to cut all other applications from the sound server. The only good things with pulseaudio is the bluetooth connection (I cannot see any other interesting things from it) but as skype is not working fine with pulseaudio it's useless. -- gnome-settings-daemon should not be dependant of pulseaudio https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/406195 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 407650] [NEW] volume control applet with PA offers no hardware volume control
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-media I am running current karmic amd64. Since the new volume control applet came out, which talks to PulseAudio (The one with the single Output Volume slider on top of the tabs), I can no longer control the real hardware volume. So if e.g. my PCM volume was stuck at 56% (as it happened just now) and the sound is just not loud enough, I had to run alsamixer -c 0 (alsamixer alone was also hijacked by PulseAudio) to turn up the hardware volume. This is obviously not easy for users not knowing about alsamixer and relying on the stock GUI mixer. So either there's really no hardware volume control reachable, or I just could not find it... ** Affects: gnome-media (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: karmic -- volume control applet with PA offers no hardware volume control https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/407650 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-media in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 407491] Re: [karmic] gnome-power-preferences not storing settings
Upon futher investigation, settings are stored. The problem was specific to which option I choose, the problem is an off by one thing. For On Battery Power, Wehn laptop lid is closed the options are: Blank Screen Suspend Hibernate Shutdown If I choose Hibernate, --verbose shows - Changing /apps/gnome-power-manager/buttons/lid_battery to suspend choosing shutdown shows hibernate, suspend shows blank, blank shows nothing. So the option choices are just off-by one and my choice seemed to be ignored but was really stored as the option above it. Soo, choosing Hibernate sets it to suspend. This choice is reflected the next time I open gnome-power-preferences, so it is actually stored. The option box is just off-by-one. Every time I open the application, it loads the options, showing what I chooce -1, saving it on close as shown -1 again, so opening closing, opening will -1 the option also. For some reason hibernate seems to be a default becuase opening and closing a few times seems to have it end up with hibernate. If I set it to hibernate, verifying with --verbose that it actually sets it to suspend, everything works normaly. So the option is stored and acted upon correctly. [Bug 39860] Re: International Date/Time
he best solution for this would be for the setup program to automatically set LC_TIME for the country you select you live in during setup. At least i suspect that will make more people happy by default. I want simply to be able to set the format to ISO 8601 ie. .mm.dd hh:mm:ss in Ubuntu. Why can this be so simple to be done in Uncle Bill's OS and not here? Is there really no one out there that can write a simple script to adjust it? I just reated on the same issue that exists in Evolution. There it seems to be a hard coded issue. IMHO hard coding these things is simply not done. I wish I have the knowlegde to create this but unfortunately I don't. So, PLEASE, developers, create something that deals with this, without, for end users, having to change all sorts of code that may mess up a configuration. Thanks!!
