[Bug 411790] [NEW] Nautilus crashes with gvfs-error on "connect to server"
You have been subscribed to a public bug: Nautilus crashes while trying to open a connection to a server (tested: SMB, SSH). An entry in .gvfs is made, so the server is visible under places. However, trying to click / open it there, also crashes nautilus. Running Nautilus from console reveals the following lines (I had to replace some values due to company policies): (nautilus:4473): GLib-GIO-CRITICAL **: g_file_info_get_name: assertion `G_IS_FILE_INFO (info)' failed ** (nautilus:4473): WARNING **: Got GFileInfo with NULL name in smb://[DOMAIN];[userna...@[server]/[SHARE]$/, ignoring. This shouldn't happen unless the gvfs backend is broken. (nautilus:4473): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_unref: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed (nautilus:4473): GLib-GIO-CRITICAL **: g_file_info_get_name: assertion `G_IS_FILE_INFO (info)' failed ** (nautilus:4473): WARNING **: Got GFileInfo with NULL name in smb://[DOMAIN];[userna...@[server]/[SHARE]$/, ignoring. This shouldn't happen unless the gvfs backend is broken. (nautilus:4473): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_unref: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed Unfortunatly, apport won't catch this error, although it is activate, but I found a file in /var/crash which might correspond to this problem. I can't send it though, since apport doesn't seem to take the https- proxy-settings from gnome. The error wasn't there on friday, so it might be an update that causes this behaviour. ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Nautilus crashes with gvfs-error on "connect to server" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/411790 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 378403] Re: 1st call after launch of ekiga works perfectly, but after it's impossible to call, I had to close ekiga and restart it...
I am experiencing the same issue. I am behind a NAT (wifi router) and have a SIP account with ekiga.net I can hear audio only on the first call when i try dialing out on Ekiga. Subsequent calls dont work. I did try this with Twinkle and it worked perfectly on multiple calls back-to-back. The only way to get around this is to restart Ekiga. But that will only get me one call the next time i try dialing. There is only one SIP instance behind my router. The router doesn't have any special ports opened up, but that shouldn't affect the basic working of the client. Can you open this bug again and investigate the issue? [Bug 48671] Re: Cannot rename by clicking on a file
@David: It's not a case of them against us. It is 2 clicks against a double click. If this can be implemented in such a way that mistakes are brought to a minimum and is not cumbersome for the majority then fine. I can see that the title is "cannot rename by clicking on file" but mostly the discussion have revolve around applying the standard from Windows. If we are going to introduce some new renaming feature how would the transition be easier for those used to the Windows convention compared to the way things stand now (2 clicks nothing happens)? We can have a single click trigger some visual aid that cues us that one more click will rename but I don't know if that is not just as annoying. -- Cannot rename by clicking on a file https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/48671 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 48671] Re: Cannot rename by clicking on a file
Controversial and non-trivial; not a paper cut. The proposal was to allow renaming by clicking on a file, not to copy Windows's implementation exactly -- if the implementation is poor in Windows, that doesn't mean it would be in Nautilus. For example, Mac OS X allows click to rename, and I've never heard a Mac user complain that this feature ever does anything but allow users to rename files when and only when they intend to do so. Please do not argue against a feature by pointing at the same feature implemented poorly somewhere else; we should take it as an opportunity for us to do well what they do poorly, and outperform the others in a tangible, measurable way. Throwing up our hands and basically saying "we'll never get it right if they can't" is quite unhelpful. ** Changed in: hundredpapercuts Status: Confirmed => Invalid ** Changed in: hundredpapercuts Milestone: round-6 => None -- Cannot rename by clicking on a file https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/48671 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Why would you mark the bug incomplete? I provided the error, the directory, and the output - the rest would be for the fix. >From man maddb: : ignoring bogus filename Themay or may not be a valid manual page but its name is invalid. This is usually due to a manual page with sectional extension being put in manual page section . If you compare the other file names in the directory, I suspect the issue it is complaining about is ending with .5.gz vs no number, or .1 for being in a man1 directory. To test that theory (didn't know I had to do that part to submit a bug :) ): # ln -s evolution.1.gz evolution-2.25.5.1.gz # ls -l evo* -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1157 2009-07-27 10:48 evolution.1.gz lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 14 2009-08-10 15:00 evolution-2.25.5.1.gz -> evolution.1.gz lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 14 2009-07-27 16:21 evolution-2.25.5.gz -> evolution.1.gz -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 925 2009-07-27 10:48 evolution-addressbook-export.1.gz # mandb -c Processing manual pages under /usr/share/man... You have been subscribed to a public bug: During install i chose US Keyboard layout as system default. When i now use the gnome-keyboard-properties dialog to change my keyboard layout to German it works fine until after reboot.
