[Bug 646588] [NEW] installation of plugins required for mp3 playback halt (maverick: automatic codec installation fails in totem)
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: totem After double-clicking a mp3 file, Totem opens and shows the Search for suitable plugin? window. I click on the Search button and then shortly the search results are shown: gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg/fluendo-mp3/plugins- ugly. All three are marked by default so I just click on Install and a dialog entitled Confirm installation of restricted software is shown. I click on Confirm and immediately a No packages installed alert (only Ok button) shows up. Clicking Ok does not close it, nor does clicking on the close icon (x). I have to force the application to quit to close it. [Bug 633552] Re: In systray, battery state stay as estimating...
I tried matching the heuristics up with this properly, there are conditions where there's no time remaining and only a percentage, gnome power manager is supposed to take data of the percentage over time and estimate the time remaining, so in theory the time remaining would eventually be updated, hence why it says estimating. The problem seems to be that some laptops don't make the estimation easy somewhere deeper inside of the code. [Bug 619816] Re: Battery status line too long
* Sorry the formatting errors were missed during testing. * Dropping the percentage was part of the ui spec provided by mpt. * The continuous estimating was an oversight, in that it didn't happen in testing. I can only assume some batteries don't get a time estimation at all. In order to fix these issues, we should; * replace estimating with a percentage remaining, the patch originally did this * add a second formatting function which will provide hours/minutes for the settings dialog (regression in the patch) and have a specific function for generating the hh:mm for the indicator. Multiple batteries were untested but were based on the upstream model so I'm not sure what's wrong there. Any of the other issues mentioned here aren't related to the indicator the menu status line being too long. -- Battery status line too long https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/619816 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-power-manager in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 605577] Re: Help contents title bar shows cubes with numbers instead of a proper title
It seems that the fix was not picked up by the latest delta language pack, but it will be included in the next full language pack before release. Another thing that might need to be done is to remove the en.po translation from debian/patches/07_rosetta_translations_update.patch. Otherwise I believe the en.po will be reimported on the next yelp upload. This can be done in either of these two ways: * Removing en.po from the current patch * Exporting translations from Launchpad and updating the patch. The exported translations should no longer contain the en.po file, but it might be worth checking it out. This might be the easier thing to do, as around this time in the release translations are updated this way for packages affected by the NonLanguagePackDeadline anyway. -- Help contents title bar shows cubes with numbers instead of a proper title https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/605577 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to yelp in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 619816] Re: Battery status line too long
I've just been pointed to this bug and I've added a translations task to keep track of it. mpt should have a say on 1h23m style formatting, and we'd need to ask someone familiar with internationalisation about any implications of it. The translations team will be glad to help here, but what's the actual question, though? I've also made the xhxxm string translatable, but this needs to be picked up by translators, possibly too late for that :/ Generally making strings translatable that weren't before is not a problem for translators. It might be a bit tight, as the last language pack will be created next week on the 30th as per the LanguagePackTranslationDeadline, but if the change is accepted, uploaded soon and announced on the translators list as per [1], I'm sure many translation teams will still be able to translate it in a few days.
