[Bug 803748] [NEW] Always error message while sending a mail
Public bug reported: It cames with a fresh installation of ubuntu natty 64bit. Fresh evolution profile. Every time I send an email I get the following error message: "Error while Sending message. Failed to append to maildir:/home/lviggiani/.local/share/evolution/mail/local;need-summary-check=no#Sent: Cannot get folder '/home/lviggiani/.local/share/evolution/mail/local/Sent': not a maildir directory. Appending to local 'Sent' folder instead." BTW the mail is actually sent and saved in Sent evolution folder. However this error is annoying as you always have to check whether you have this (fake) error or something else. [Bug 803734] [NEW] gdm ignores xubuntu-gdm-theme gconf settings
Public bug reported: I'm on a new installation of xubuntu Natty. When I first rebooted after installing, the xubuntu-gdm-theme showed up correctly on the login screen. Since then, gdm has started ignoring those theme settings, leaving the login screen with a black background and what looks like default colors & icons on the panel bar. I tried purging and reinstalling the following packages: gdm xubuntu-gdm-theme xubuntu-artwork xubuntu-default-settings xubuntu-desktop ...but that didn't help. I have verified that the xubuntu-gdm-theme settings are present in gdm's gconf database... $ for i in /desktop/gnome/background/picture_filename /desktop/gnome/interface/icon_theme /desktop/gnome/interface/gtk_theme /desktop/gnome/interface/buttons_have_icons /desktop/gnome/interface/menus_have_icons ; do sudo -u gdm gconftool-2 --get $i; done /usr/share/xfce4/backdrops/xubuntu-greybird.png elementaryXubuntu greybird true true ...yet they seem to be ignored. For comparison, I'm attaching screen shots of my (broken) gdm screen and a correct one from a virtual machine. Public bug reported: when the mail sender's datetime is not correct, the mail display sequence which is ordered by datetime also is not correct. [Bug 803169] Re: [Oneiric] gnome-system-log window doesn't close, needs to be killed by pid
After testing today it can't be reproduced. Oneiric is updated. Maybe it was due to Jun 27 18:40:29 kernel: [15232.567976] gnome-settings-[1425]: segfault at 7f133c71db10 ip 7f133c71db10 sp 7fff92813ef8 error 14 in libvorbisenc.so.2.0.8[7f133e9d1000+2b3000] in addition during the time log viewer isn't closing I got logged out to tty very often, after init: tty1 main process ended, respawning. Not sure if it's related, because we didn't figured out yet why I get logged out. Anyway, the behaviour of sys log viewer is definetely weird. It opens now with kern.log highlighted, but doesn't display kernlog (screenshot), only by click on syslog or dmesg and then on kern.log it displays correctly kern.log. There is no option anymore in gconf-editor to set a value which log file is displayed first. So yesterday it opened with dmesg, today with kern.log. ** Attachment added: "logviewer.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-utils/+bug/803169/+attachment/2184820/+files/logviewer.png ** Changed in: gnome-utils (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-utils in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/803169 Title: [Oneiric] gnome-system-log window doesn't close, needs to be killed by pid To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-utils/+bug/803169/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 800349] Re: password don't change
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. This bug did not have a package associated with it, which is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. You can learn more about finding the right package at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage . I have classified this bug as a bug in gnome-system-tools. When reporting bugs in the future please use apport by using 'ubuntu- bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more about this functionality at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs. ** Package changed: ubuntu => gnome-system-tools (Ubuntu) ** Summary changed: - password don't change + Users-admin doesn't change password ** Description changed: Binary package hint: unity - i think its not a unity problem i have also seen it in the last ubuntu version. - the situation is that if we change the password from system setting and we follow all the steps of changing password and at that time the result is this that "password changed" but when we login again that we should enter the previous password means that the password was not changed so that why we entered the previous password for login. - thank you + If we change the password from system setting the program says that + "password changed" but when we login again, we realised that only the + old password works. You may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures At a minimum, we need: 1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem, 2. the behavior you expected, and 3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). [Bug 534677] Re: [lucid] Broken backlight control with Radeon open-source drivers
This is still true with the Radeon driver in Natty. There's no BACKLIGHT property exposed on the LVDS interface. Gnome Power Manager itself now works around it, with gnome-backlight-helper. [Bug 803519] [NEW] Use Unity as a registered XDG environment
Public bug reported: Currently, Unity pretends to be GNOME. It's a registered XDG environment (http://standards.freedesktop.org/menu-spec/latest/apb.html) but no tools look for its value, and few .desktop files use it. But that's changing. At least indicator-datetime's preference window wants to be only shown in Unity and not shown in GNOME. So that's a solid example of why this would be useful. [Bug 553759] Re: ubuntuone-preferences crashed with NoSuchKeyringError in __init__()
I confirm what Bruno Leon stated. This bug is NOT fixed. With package gnome-keyring2.92.92.is.2.30.3-0ubuntu1.1 a default keyring file omissão.keyring (note the tilde...) is created when I launch, for example, Evolution. With this default file keyring usage is broken.
